The line trotted out by some ITK who claim its not unusual for these things to overrun and no problem here, well if its that common surely they would take it into consideration?Especially when taking over £50m in ST money, good knows how much in membership and hospitality money & then letting "customers" down.

A side note I saw that a reg STH same seat at wembley for chelsea is £75,more than the refund for NWHL and considerably more than the same seat at wembley last year. Not good PR.

That was why I didn't go to the Liverpool game. Well that and it would have been a mad rush, but from the very first game at new White Hart lane to paying extra to go to the anticlimax that is Wembley was just embarrassing.

From the inside & outside our stadium will look 99% finished by Dec

You will need to see inside & out to really appreciate how good it is!! Now the frustrating part which nobody will like...Speakers, lights, emergency lights, CCTV, fire heads all still need wiring which means that we are still not in a position to test the above. Testing has started on the completed areas however the above items along with the intergration testing from the stadium management system (this is where the CCTV, PA, Advertising panels, CIS screens, fire, lifts Escalators etc are all controlled from, listing faults, switching, and control) cannot be finished until all systems have been installed & passed. Radio system will be separate, and again this is not finished.T here is also the fire stopping, and fire suppression testing that will also need to signed off and complete before the LFB/counncil will sign off for operational use.

Thanks, but how long does the last bit take, do we know?

the fire stuff?? well that also involves the first lot, because the PAVA system has to be in,the lift management has to be linked to the fire safety so they shut down in event of..the alarm system, radio system, etc all have to be ready as part of LFB/council signing off.

All we really know is it takes a couple of weeks to organise test events, and a week or two to hold them and then at least 3 weeks to announce and organise the first match. That we know from back in july/augusts announcements. That alone is nearly 2 months,so really it just depends on the state of play in the installation of stuff. You would imagine to approach the council/LFB to come and test would have a lead time, christ you cant even get a boiler repair appoinment next day,and then surely checking will take some time.As i said in a post earlier that puts us around 3 months away even if they are getting close to finishing installing, replacing, repairing, whatever is going on inside that we cant see.

Some good news at some stage would be good. The club, the fans, the players, the management, everyone needs it. I'd love to know the real reasons behind the delays, I suspect Levy 'saving money' somewhere has affected the overall efficiency of the build and it's ended up back firing, by costing more.

That really does not sound promising. If this is true than January will be a real long shot. If not Jan or Feb than i can't imagine we will get in for this season. Ugggh and grrrrr come to mind.

Spurs strike deal to use Wembley for rest of season but still hold hope for new stadium opening
Exclusive: Tottenham have now got a contingency plan in place when it comes to their new stadium

Tottenham Hotspur have struck a new deal to use Wembley Stadium for the rest of the 2018/19 season as a contingency plan in case their new stadium is not ready.

Spurs' new 62,062-seater ground is nearing completion in many aspects, internally and externally, however with crucial testing taking place this month to get to the root of widespread problems with the complex wiring in the stadium's fire safety systems, the north London club cannot take any chances when it comes to the rest of their home matches.

football.london understands that Tottenham are still aiming to open their new stadium this season, however a firm contingency plan has had to be put in place to negate the problems they have faced already and give assurances to the Premier League and the FA that all their home fixtures will be fulfilled in either event.

Last month Spurs had to play Manchester City and PSV Eindhoven on a damaged Wembley pitch due to the scheduling issues caused by needing to switch the game against Pep Guardiola's men to the national stadium at relatively late notice. That meant the City game was held just 24 hours after the NFL match between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The club also had to gain special permission to play their Carabao Cup match against Watford in September at Stadium MK in Milton Keynes as Wembley was unavailable due to Anthony Joshua's world title fight against Alexander Povetkin.

The new deal struck with Wembley means that should Spurs' stadium's wiring issues prove to be worse than feared, the club will have a guaranteed base for home matches in the Premier League and any potential future home cup matches, domestic or European.

In addition, Wembley National Stadium Ltd are set to submit a planning application next week to Brent Council to increase the capacity of their remaining matches there.

The current restriction on events at Wembley means that, after the Chelsea match on November 24, all the club's remaining fixtures at the national stadium would need to be capped at a capacity of 51,000.

The new planning application to Brent Council will ask for a change to the restrictions should the club require them, and will ask for the minimum capacity to be raised to 62,000 - similar to Tottenham's new stadium's capacity - with limited requests for 90,000 should a full house be required.

The council granted special dispensation last season for Wembley to increase the number of events held there at full capacity due to Tottenham's tenure.

Spurs are expected to make a further announcement on the progress at the new stadium early next month when they have a clearer picture of how the ongoing testing has gone. And they have earnt some more interest on ST monies held.(that bit maybe be me not Ally Gold)

the club statement

11 November 2018|Tottenham Hotspur

Whilst Wembley National Stadium Ltd has been able to assign us a number of full capacity games, the restriction on the number of full capacity events available to WNSL each year means that our remaining Premier League fixtures after Chelsea will be capped at 51,000 unless otherwise advised.
Special dispensation was granted by Brent Council for the 2017/18 season for WNSL to be permitted to increase the number of events at full capacity as a result of our temporary relocation for the entire season.
As a contingency measure to ensure we can stage our matches whilst we await certainty on the exact opening date of our new stadium, the Club has reached agreement with WNSL to host any additional home games that we may have to play at Wembley Stadium.
Additionally, WNSL will submit a planning application to Brent Council for a variation on the cap for our games in the event we require them. The application will be for games to be at a capacity of 62,000, with additional limited exceptions at 90,000.
As announced previously, we shall look to provide a further update on stadium progress in early December.

I'm not amused.

Made my decision now, we don't play at WHL in the PL and I get my entire season ticket refunded, I'm not renewing for the next season.

Because this is bull, and I don't get treated like that.

And that is the culmination of them being dishonest, greedy, money grabbing cunts...!!!

I would imagine that there are thousands that will do exactly the same bruv.

They're utter cunts, I am not affected but I am utterly amazed that you have all been treated so badly. There must be some recourse over this legally... it has to be miss selling at the very least.

Fucking shit cunt of a club.

It's nothing short of disgraceful. Levy can spin this any way he likes but ultimately the buck stops with him. It is not good enough to drip feed refunds back to season ticket holders. The club should be refunding all season ticket holders in full and discounting tickets to Wembley for the rest of the season.

I am staggered by this whole debacle. Ordinarily you would call this shambles unprofessional but I think we all know how Levy operates by now. He has pulled off a disgusting "bait and switch" at the expense of the fans and this is evidenced by the complete lack of contrition and absence of any effort at all to make amends to those he has wronged. It's not unprofessional. It is fraud. End of story.

Sadly... Fraud won't stick. The terms of the ticket were staggeringly clear on the whole timeframe of the stadium being in the air.

I assume that's because they had no fucking intention of being in this season.

Basically, we don't play at WHL I don't go at all this year. You can loan my ST money off me if you want but there won't be any visitor tickets... Or any matchday spend, or a shirt. Basically, done yourself out of £300 more.

It's gone past a joke, and a debacle and landed on fucking ridiculous.

What's worst is I just barely care any more... Like the team is getting lots of points but it's apathetic mostly...just like me. Really so far for me this season is a write off... footy ain't great, and my mood is foul. Let me be real, I'm not results orientated, I've never been. Performance is what matters, it could be far worse... but we're a third of the way through the season and we haven't left second gear yet. Then the stadium is just the kick in the nuts, and the communication about all this is just someone spitting on you to finish it all off

Over 2/3 of all Spurs games are televised. Just saying.

Team doing great under circumstances, probably results wise we`ve never had it so good, but yes apathetic is the right word for support. And its mostly the board to blame IMO,treatment of supporters is akin to cattle&customers, except any decent retailer would never get away with such shocking service offered.

Just an honest "we miscalculated, severe problems unforseen, and tell us really what to expect and then doing the right things to compensate fans properly. Its not the delay is the basic dishonesty in telling what basically are subscribers what is happening. No other business would get away with it,but we love the club even when we dont love the chairman.

Last 3 posts here - here. I'm not affected as I didn't /couldn't afford to get involved at those prices (even if I wanted to) but the basic dishonesty around all this just stinks, Levy is making Sugar look like an angel at the moment, I can only think he hasn't yet realised what happens when you REALLY upset the Spurs faithful.

It's a serious lack of judgement from a guy who has built his reputation among the fans on being a clever business man, that reputation's now in tatters. You don't shit where you eat!

It's a great shame and about as Spursy as you can get. State of the art fantastic new stadium, CL football, Barcelona, etc etc. and we can't make it happen. God is a gooner, I'm sure of it.

Understand your sentiment.

Dont blame him really,it was a place of good info, expertise but descending into another bitching spurs forum. If you believe or dont believe his or anyone elses opinions it hasnt been the place to express so strongly pro levy, anti levy, date of opening but the guy gets slagged off for providing more insight through photos than most.If any of us saw ourselves being slagged off on a 3rd party forum we would probably lash out too.Their problem is he believes from what he sees and people he is on site with we wont move in this season, thats fair enough, same as people believing we will be in for man utd is fair enough.People are seeing disloyalty in people being critical of the stadium (mostly comms) and pushing back,to me they sound deluded but i wont express that there its not the place.
There do seem to be a lot of geeky virgins there spouting off, when truth is we are all guessing, mace, levy, poch, you,me everybody,everybody...........
everybody,needs somebody, someone to love........

WHEREVER THAT FUCKING THING IS.

I did get an email on the 11th October saying they were sorry for not shipping them, and now pleased to say they've started issuing packs.

At this rate I'm assuming they are delivered in person by Levy himself.

I suppose mate that people feel as though there have been a string of promises made and then broken. God knows, it's bloody hard enough being a Spurs supporter without being the butt of jokes over something that isn't even related to the players or performances on the pitch.

Fact is, the club sold the faithful on a lot of promises and have really delivered nothing. Yes, there will be a new stadium and yes, it will very likely be a magnificent beast BUT the approach that the club has taken (and Levy is the guy who is responsible),with all of the hype (Tube ads FFS making us look like amateurs) and all of the promises is absolutely disingenuous. It is now to the point where it is of no value reading any official updates from the club because every single one of those updates regarding the stadium has been bullshit. You cannot possibly believe a word they say. The THFC is mugging off the people that provide the funding for it's every existence. It is shitting in its own nest.

And frankly, most of us have had enough.
