Pochettino says is not looking to use the club as a springboard to landing another job elsewhere.

“I am very happy (in England),” he said.

“It’s true that we are me and my staff are very well here. It was fantastic after a good and not so good experience in Spain as a coach.

“We’ve fit in fantastically since day one in England."

“It’s true that it’s only four years (since I arrived from Southampton) but we maybe could be here for 20 years.

“Why not? I’m not a person thinking 10 years ahead. I try to focus on today and try to work for tomorrow to be better.

“With that philosophy I’ve spent four years here and it would be fantastic to spend more time.”

Pochettino insists his sole focus is on Spurs.

“We are ambitions and want to win every game,” he said.

“If we go backwards for a season from what we were, that would be 1000 miles. Football is about belief, faith and working hard.

“In two-and-a-half years (we have met) our expectations. Not to push and move the club quick - sometimes that is not possible. But it relates to excitement around Tottenham. The new stadium, the team.

“Today it looks like we’re the best team in the world. That is very good. The aim is to keep that feeling.”

While Tottenham are beginning to look ahead to the summer transfer window, they have managed to tie down most of their senior players to long-term contracts.

Eleven players have signed new deals this season, and Pochettino feels that show of faith bodes well for the future.

“The most important step is that the players believe they can achieve their dreams,” said the manager. “If you believe Tottenham is the right place to achieve your dreams, we will be very close to winning trophies.

“For me it’s the first time it’s happened, that in the last few months so many players have extended [their contracts] and shown their commitment. Maybe 80 per cent have shown that and want to be here long-term - it’s my first experience like this.

“When I look at different clubs it doesn’t happen, what’s happened here, which is very good news for us.

“It’s a very good point - to achieve big things the players need to dream and to show commitment with us.

“Time is very important in football. You can spend £400million to build a winning team and buy all the best players in the world and try to win today, or you build a different way to try to win at the end, and for that you always need time.”

Pochettino continued: “For me Tottenham, with the history, is always above every manager, player, staff. That is the most important thing.

“Sometimes we say if we don’t get the Champions League or Europa League it might be difficult to extend the contracts of players who want to win. But come on, Tottenham is bigger than anyone. It’s important to start to be clever.

“I want to play for Tottenham, want to manage Tottenham, because Tottenham for me is a big club with a big history, big fans and in the very short future will be one of the best teams for facilities, with this new stadium.

“The important thing is that Tottenham want to give me the chance to manage here for a long time. That is the most important thing and sets the principle when you arrive here as manager, coach or player. You feel the responsibility is to work and achieve big things.”

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino rules out Barcelona due to Espanyol link
Spurs boss says 'it would be impossible one day to move to Arsenal'

Mauricio Pochettino has suggested he cannot manage Barcelona because of his links to Espanyol
Mauricio Pochettino has suggested he cannot manage Barcelona because he is an Espanyol fan, claiming it would be like leaving Tottenham to join Arsenal.

Pochettino has been linked with the job at the Nou Camp, with Luis Enrique confirming he will leave the Catalan side in the summer, and the Spurs boss was the subject of more rumours after he was reportedly seen with Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu during the international break.
http://www.nowtv.com/sports?DCMP=ilc_NTV_skysports_editorial_article_strapline
However, Pochettino insists he bumped into Bartomeu by coincidence and appeared to rule out a move to Barcelona in the future because of the affection he still holds for Espanyol, having played for and managed the club, and compared such a scenario with taking over at Arsenal, which he called "impossible".

skysports-pochettino-mauricio-espanyol_3919867.jpg

Pochettino played for, and managed, Espanyol
He said: "It was a coincidence in a bar in Barcelona last Tuesday because I've known him [Bartomeu] for a long time [since] before he became chairman of Barcelona and, you know, many people around us saw us and said hello.

"We spent five minutes together but that was the reality and, you know, the rumours after are impossible to stop.

"But I am an Espanyol supporter and I think I don't need to say too much. It's like if one day Daniel Levy sacked me after a few years, for me it would be impossible to manage Arsenal.

Highlights: Tottenham 2-1 Southampton
"I think in football, sometimes, I know that it is so difficult to keep values and to be loyal with your heart and your emotions but, for me, before being a manager, before being a player, being loyal is more important to be honest and I am an Espanyol fan.

"I love Espanyol and like now Tottenham for me, it would be impossible one day to move to Arsenal. It would be impossible."

See some Spurs fans are annoyed at Poch for not winning the FA CUP this year, so I'm just going to knock some sense into you guys.....
How about we start showing just how much we love this guy for what he has done for our club in the bigger picture.

He made us believe we are on the same level with Chelsea, City etc when we are not. We use to get raped by these teams before.

The man that replaced Fazio with Toby. The man that replaced Capoue and Bentaleb with Wanyama & Dembele.the man that replaced Soldado & Adebayor with Kane & Alli

The man that taught us, If we can't outplay them, we must outrun and outwork them! 90% of the times it has worked.

Being a devil's advocaat, just because I am in one of them moods, you could say that the Poch is the coach who failed to get the best out of Capoue, Bentlaleb, Bobby etc. and can he really take credit for signing Dembele? Then I suppose you could say that AVB had already fucked up the players who the Poch subsequently failed to develop., so that's being the devil's advocaats advocaat? Funny how the Prince of Darkness likes a drop of that disgusting yellow drink, oh well he is the boss.

Is the Poch really all that? We have only got 6 more games to play and the scum have a game in hand on us and could get to 11 points behind us, is that really what a good coach would do? Kloppity or Van Gobb would have clinched the title, won all our games at Wembley, have us in the final of the FA Cup and we would still be in the Champions League now. He has also led our team to 3 defeats this season in the Premier League, and he has managed to knock down a big chunk of WHL leading to me not being able to get a fucking ticket to the games I wanted, he will probably blame Levy for that so he is no different from the twatty one at United. Man up Poch and take the blame for all these failures.

Everybody knows, because he told us, that Timmy deserves all the credit for Harry Kane and Toby must hate the Poch because he has refused to sign a 200 year contract. Playing Son where he did on Saturday showed us the he had no scooby, many experts told us that he should have played Winks in the semi finals, put Walker on the left and kept Loris on the bench and had T'Pau in goal, schoolboy stuff really. He probably popped out for a kebab in the middle of the game and told his backup staff just to bung anyone on.

The Poch lovers like to bang on about the best PL positions, record points hauls, highest goals scored, lowest goals conceded, highest clean sheets etc. but so what? If Southampton fail to win tonight then that is totally on the Poch, he used to be the boss there, so he should have anticipated this situation.

“Because we are doing things and the club has a lot of potential, there is a focus on our talented players. But the good thing is that we have a plan to try to improve and we will deliver it when we finish the season. The players that we want to keep, we will keep. He [Levy] said to me: ‘We don’t need money.’ If we sell some players, it is because we want to sell some players.”

On Xavi’s comments about Alli, Pochettino added: “He’s in a period where he loves to talk. He’s in Doha. He tries to destroy our focus to win because he hates me. He’s Barcelona. I know him very well because I played against him a lot.
I say again, I love this man.

we have a plan to try to improve

Why are others not convinced?you have your Klopp/harry motivator types, you have your spending FF managers spending yuge jose/pep,and you have someone like Poch who thinks he can make players better, and actually he does whether its fitness,belief,tactics/system.And then on top of that he thinks he can make the club better. We are blessed to have appointed him, jesus some people would have kept sherwood or crouching ginger/hidden mumbler.I have yet to see anyone with the stones complaining about poch, plan A no plan B,cant handle big players,oh fancy picking that side actually come out and say change him for .......well 2 years ago they said if really pressed LVG,Pullis,Pardew,Klopp, now they cant even suggest a replacement,,probably big sam this month.
Bill Nic retired a year or so before I 1st went to the lane,Pochettino is the best manager we have had since Bill.Burkinshaw, awesome but we were a different club then power wise and yes trophies will have to be won and counted. Why cant they all just appreciate and love the bloke for where he has taken us at this point??

Mauricio Pochettino has been crowned Barclays Manager of the Month for April.

mp_award_730x510.jpg

Our popular manager guided us to six wins out of six in the Premier League last month, the team keeping clean sheets in all but one of them while scoring 16 goals at the other end. We followed up on our 2-0 win at Burnley on April 1 with a fantastic late burst to come back from a goal down to win 3-1 at Swansea City four days later.

Then came back-to-back 4-0 home wins over Watford and Bournemouth and, although we slipped to a 4-2 defeat to Chelsea in our FA Cup semi-final at Wembley on April 22, we recovered to claim a 1-0 win at Crystal Palace before rounding off the month with a 2-0 home victory against rivals Arsenal.

It’s been this kind of form that has seen Mauricio nominated for Barclays Manager of the Month in four out of the last five months, although this represents the first time he’s won the award this season.

Last term, Mauricio picked up the prize twice – in September, 2015, and February, 2016.

I definitely think Poche is all that

No, he ain't all that, he has a 100% losing record for May and he threw away the 14 point gap, it's only 11 now and if there were enough games left the bastrads would catch us!

They are coming to speak to Conte. All of this nonsense is generated by agents who then leak the details to the press including which hotel or restaurant they will be meeting at....remember Poch and Fergie having lunch about 18 months ago....
