Can't believe they have the Poch hugging a cock... This is not going to end well once the other fans get some Photoshop action underway.

Just finished the book. Really good insight into how he manages our club, and also kept on the right side of controversy Nothing in that book could be used against him, which was something I was worried about.

The win at dortmund means Mauricio Pochettino is the first Tottenham manager since Keith Burkinshaw to win 100 games with the club.

I was just having a look on the Topspurs site and it lists Redknapp as having won 102. Don't shoot the messenger.

18 managers since the general, only 2 have won 100 games. Only 8 have managed over 100 games.

I know Poch knows best but reading some quotes from him about Sissoko slightly baffle me.

Things like he’s the only player we have, who can transition defence into offence and he’s a hugely important part of the team...wtf!

I want Sissoko gone and these words break my heart!

I was gonna post this as well. Surely he's taking the piss to try to get someone to bid on him. Basically he's saying that he is good at turning around and running in the other direction? i don't mind Sissoko as a bit player. He's tough and he usually puts in an effort. He's just, um, not so good with a football at his feet.

But what else would a manager in anyline do?stand by him,try and motivate him,in public you have to say the right thing despite what you may really think or want to happen.I dont read to much into these comments or ones about we are fine dont need to buy,its just towing the party line.Jose might like to burn bridges with players publically, other managers fracture relationships with a chairman over signing players, best if that stuff is inhouse and private IMO.
I am sure Poch wont let sissoko drag him down,he has been trying to make the best of it and help the guy, cant see that will be unlimited time and performance wise.Hands have been tied with wanyama, dembele, lamela, winks all missing significant time with injuries and dier having to cover toby, sanchez in defence too.We also have a £30m investment here dont want to talk it down further, bad enough a buyer can see without us talking about it!!

These words comfort me a little mate! So you’re saying his words are effectively massaging the players ego and to potential suitors out there who are maybe interested in the player, they’ll be thinking, well if one of the best managers in the game right now, thinks this highly of him, maybe we should put in a cheeky bid...interesting, very interesting old boy!

However, having thought it about for a few seconds, the side of the brain that thinks Poch is actually being genuine in his words wins over and that Sissoko will be a starter for the next few years. It’ll be his one blot on his copybook after a stellar career with Spurs, that for some bizarre reason, that no one will ever be able to comprehend, he seemed to develop an affinity, an unexplainable love for a player, that everyone else saw as garbage!!

I saw someone write in the S’ton match day thread, that they thought Sissoko had one of his best games for us...NO, he really didn’t, this is what happens when you see a player that can’t really play football, you’re forced to dream up positives, you see him burst forward past a couple of defenders and you immediately exaggerate what he’s done, coz it’s so unexpected, rather than it just being a player running forward but because it’s Sissoko, you’re like wow that was amazing!! Although it normally ends with him stopping and then passing it backwards, stopping any momentum he’d just created! I think fans have got to the stage, where we want him to do well, as he does work for the team and gives his all for the badge but he’s simply not good enough for us.

He`s a bit like an unlikeable Soldado, cos at least you could love bobbys effort and even now love for the club.

I hope this is the case. There are at least 13 players are are clearly ahead of him, no questions asked. Like I said, I don't mind him, just don't want to see someone like Lamela or Wnks on the bench so Sissoko can run about. But if we end up selling him for a hefty fee then Poch is a genius!

After hearing that Sissoko has made the most appearances of any Spurs player this season, I'm convinced that he has documented evidence of Poch banging not just one but a vast array of farm animals.

And with all due respect to @skiathospurs reasoning, nothing else can explain his name consistently on the team sheet.

All kidding aside, which do you think is his favourite choice of animal?

I too cannot account for whats going on,but Poch and animals?more likely he has photos of Poch and Levy cementing the special relationship on a desk.

I think whilst I never like publically knocking players,Llorente, jesus are he and sissoko in some kind of sick competition, surely janssen or soldado would be better??Yes Lamela had a rocky start, but at least he worked hard and was a nasty fouling player if things werent going right, the two aforementioned arent really getting stuck in,more like getting out of the way.

Is this actually true? I can't be arsed to look it up so will take your word as gospel on it. That to me is barmy. Can't think of any position on the pitch where he would be my first choice or even second, nay third choice in that position...

I'd actually like to meet and speak to one Spurs fan who rates Sissoko. I genuinely don't know any and if there is one out there I'd love to hear their thoughts just so I can see what it is that everyone else is missing. Poch has never been afraid of playing kids over those with bad attitudes or simply not playing shit players - regardless of injuries to others, so I have to think that he sees something in him to get that much game time, I just can't for the life of me figure out what.

I hate knocking our own boys and obviously want him to do well but it honestly irks me every time I see his name in the starting line up or warming up to come on. And then when I think "this is the game he shows us the player he actually is," he actually does... a shit one.

@skiathospurs & @wilson I too trust Poch but I'm failing to understand what he sees in Sissoko. He's a big, fast & strong athlete who I feel (at this time) is not suited to the high tempo / pressure of the EPL. He simply doesn't have the confidence & technical capacity to deal with having so little time on the ball nor to take on players in tight quarters. Hence his tendency to get rid of the ball quickly either sideways or backwards. I feel he may be able to thrive in leagues such as France & Spain where you get more space & time on the ball.

There are so many other Spurs players that are outperforming Sissoko yet they are not being "bigged" up by Poch like he's doing with Sissoko. Surely he wants to attract buyers for him but if he keeps him beyond this window my farm animal comment stands. (Remember: Poch has a farm).

Whilst I wouldn't say that I am a Sissoko fan, I can see his value. If you look at our midfield, Sissoko does add a point of difference in that he knows how to get into space and run at opponents from a deep position. He differs from Son who plays a little further forward and Dembele who runs at opponents but is a a box to box type. I agree with Poch in as far as I think that this is what he trying to say. I also have no question at all as to Sissoko's work ethic...the guy puts in a shift every time he takes the pitch and appears at least to be trying to do the right things on and off the park.

With all of that said, the guy does in my opinion flatter to deceive. He is rather an uncultured footballer and lacks an end product. I believe that when Lamela is fully fit he will take Sissoko's spot as he offers quite a bit more creatively and does have an end product when his confidence is up. Sissoko does have a spot in the squad for me though and is an interesting proposition if he can be brought on fresh to run at tired defenders.

The four musketeers were Kane, Dele, Eriksen and Lamela....and they could rip defences apart, remember us beating United 3-0 a couple of seasons back? Well due to Erik's injury we have a 5th muskateer - Sonny. Problem now is fitting them all in the same team. So either Lamela, Dele or Eriksen need to play in a Game controlling way to replace any role that Sissoko might have and that likely means playing alongside Mousa or Dier? It's all very attacking though.....

Poch will sort it all out, I'd be happy if Mr Sissoko's next outing was against Newport in the replay, others will need a rest.

From the Spurs Web

The Tottenham Hotspur Foundation along with Mauricio Pochettino have launched a new programme aimed at training youngsters within the Club’s local community who have a passion for coaching.

The programme, called Passion 4 Coaching, sees 16- to 24-year-olds who have a desire to become football coaches recruited through the Foundation’s existing outreach work and taken on a training course covering safeguarding, delivering effective coaching drills, equalities and inclusion.

If ever there was an indication of his loyalty to the club the new project is being set up and funded through the proceeds of the sales of Brave New World – a recent book that provides a first-person snapshot of a season at Tottenham Hotspur under Pochettino.

The article on the club website goes on to say that Passion 4 Coaching will see the Argentinian share his expertise and methods with the Foundation coaches delivering this unique scheme.

It adds that graduates from the programme will then be given the opportunity to work within the Club’s Global Coaching programme through methods developed within the Tottenham Hotspur Academy and the programme forms part of the Club’s wider work to create employment opportunities for local people living within its community.

Mauricio said: “Coaching has been my passion ever since my playing career was over and I know that there are many young local people who share that passion and are just waiting for the opportunity.

He added: “It is important for me to be able to work with the Club and its Foundation to provide that opportunity through Passion 4 Coaching – a project that we hope will change the lives of those taking part.Through our Global Coaching programme, there are many pathways that exist for young coaches to build on their passion and be able to develop their knowledge and skills through the Club’s outreach work, so I am extremely excited to be involved in this.”

Richard Allicock who is Community Development Manager for the clubs foundation, said: “Passion 4 Coaching represents a huge opportunity for young people from our local community who have an ambition to become a football coach.Mauricio’s support is invaluable to our staff that will be delivering the programme and he sets an example to any budding young coach hoping to pursue this as a career.”
