I was looking at the elusive @Dorset to pen the season review, but in lieu of his contribution I think I will kick this off with my meager opinions.

With the development of WHL fimly underway we set out in the knowledge that we will be at least 1 season away from our historic home. We have suffered more than celebrated of late at our chosen destination as we headed to pastures new, Wembley Stadium the home of English football..... Apparently.
We left the 2016/2017 season with an unjust label as "perennial bottler's" as we had failed to mount a realistic challenge finishing 2nd to Chelsea as they romped to the title. We didn't do ourselves any favours in letting our foot off their throats by contriving to seemingly throw away some more than winnable points towards the end of the season against teams who while we had no right to win against, should have done on the basis of us being one of the strongest and most consistent teams in the league.
Our exploits in the Champions league somewhat faltered too as we whimpered out in the group stages having just made up the numbers a little... Fun was had by all but ultimately it wasn't the roaring success we have craved for it to be.
Again no silverware for us to celebrate that season... Not even a realistic sniff from my memory.
But 2017/18 arrived and we'd got a few new faces and said goodbye to a few too... We were pumped and were confident of pushing on and giving this season a real crack even with the "Wembley Hoo-Doo" hanging round us.
We started OK, Harry didn't...!!! Imagine what he could do if he stayed uninjured and started the season with the rest of the lads... An early season knock at the hands if Chelsea didn't rock the boat too much and we ticked over nicely in the league packing points away and playing some decent football. It wasn't the blockbuster performances we had seen the previous season but allowances were being made for our team playing every game away from home... Well they were in my eyes anyway!
We were yet again up against another 3 or 4 clubs who had collectively courted and acquired some of the supposed best and definitely most expensive footballers on the planet spending at least half a billion quid between them... We still had (and have) Sisoko.
The Champions League got underway and we'd be drawn into the supposed "group of death" with the footballing giants of Dortmund and Real Madrid. Us along with Apoel were making up the numbers for Ronaldo, Bale, Batshuayi and Reus to use as target practice while they warmed up for the knockout stages... We however didn't get the memo and we did some serious damage to the giants reputations and shook up the European footballing elite. We did superbly topping the group and without loosing and only dropping points at the Bernabéu earning an away goal and a 1-1 draw.
We went out the Juventus after gifting the Italians 2 goals in Turin and loosing the home leg at Wembley. We had done ourselves proud and quite rightly felt agitated going out as a consequence of potential naivety against much more experienced opposition.
Back to the league and domestic competitions and we ticked along in the league but ultimately getting dumped out of the EFL Cup by the Travelers from Stratford (west ham). Bit of a shocking performance and to loose to those bellends hurt a little bit... At least now we could focus on the FA Cup as the league was all but won in January by a billion quid Man City team who were smashing teams out of their way scoring obscene amounts of goals in the process.
We cruised through to the Semi Finals of the FA Cup and forgot to turn up against a Man Utd Bus driven by Jose Mourinhio... Hey-Ho its a tin pot cup anyway...
At this point the Dippers had struck some form and were starting to put teams to bed with some seriously impressive attacking play and were squeezing the top 4 along with the Chavs, Utd and us vying for position.
Harry got injured and we thought we were shafted as he was banging goals in... But the lads stepped up and Poch kept us moving forward with Son being a notable deputy to Kane. Ericsson kept loading the gun for the lads and even fired a good few rounds off himself to keep us in contention for that CL spaces and finishing as high up the table as we could.
Harry came back as did a few other notable absentees for the final push but he is not right and hasn't produced any thing like what he is capable of, but we kept moving forwards coming into some great form.
We qualified for the CL with 1 game to go and our final game of the season against the 2015/16 season champions Leiceater may still se us finish second for a consecutive season under Pochetino while playing every game away from home.
All in all it's been absolutely fantastic and considering how well we have done in the CL and the league while playing at Wembley we should all be a little proud. We haven't always played the sexy stuff we have done to expect from the Poch but its been equally effective. If not at times more so.
We don't go away with anything shiny this year but I believe its coming as long as we can support Poch in realising our potential and all of our dreams.
There does feel like there is a slight tinge to this but I think its simply down to perspective. Our expectations have been raised and we have come to expect what we have and consequently as all humans do we want more... The fact is that we have never had it this good and we should take a moment to enjoy and revel in the fact that until now... I haven't even needed to mention the Scum... They have become an utter irrelevance to us... We have gone way past them and were going in opposite directions... I think under Poch, we have every opportunity for that trajectory to continue.
We need to spend a few quid in the summer maybe, and I'd like to see Levy back the man who I see us being able to had us the shiny stuff we all crave... Let's hope he does and next year we can talk of this season as another stepping stone to our glorious future.
Thanks for taking the roller coaster with me lads...
