Despite the scoreline I think there’s a lot of good things to take from that game. Leading a strong Barcelona side with effectively our B team for such a long time was very impressive.

It underlined how much we need new defenders...

Dier, Regi, Sanchez (he was good overall) arw no where near good enough.

Ran out of energy, which makes sense due to the lack of competitive friendly matches in pre-season. Looked great for 60 minutes. Lo Celso and Bissouma were so dominate together

Skip was great too... worked hard, broke up play and recycled the ball very well.

Yeah, just lacked the pace (to say the least). In addition to the ones others have mentioned, I thought Perisic looked good in the first half playing in advanced position. I love how we look to win the ball back so quickly after losing it.

Lots of promising signs. Is it VDV Davies or Sanchez on Sunday.
I vote VDV, but I'm just a mug punter
CB and GK are huge concerns for me, but am looking forward massively to the match as usual.

Sanchez was absolutely bossing it in that friendly. Just giving that bit of false hope before the season starts!!
