We are delighted to announce the signing of Alejo Veliz from Rosario Central, subject to international clearance and work permit.
The centre-forward has agreed a deal with the Club that will run until 2029, and will wear the number 36 shirt.

Alejo Veliz has signed a contract with the Club which will run until 2029
Born in Gödeken, Argentina, Alejo joined Rosario at Under-20 level and progressed to make his first team debut in July, 2021. The 19-year-old attacker made a total of 62 appearances for the Primera Division side in all competitions, scoring 19 times.
On the international stage, Alejo featured for Argentina at the FIFA Under-20 World Cup and Under-20 South American Championship earlier this year. He has scored three goals in nine appearances at that level to date.

Spurs will pay the Argentine side $16.7million (£13.18million) and the transfer could also be worth a further $6.4million (£5million) in add-ons. Those will be paid incrementally for every 15 matches the teenage striker appears in across any competitions.

On top of that, Rosario will also have a 10% sell-on clause from any future transfer for Veliz out of Tottenham.

There was a rather stupid 'story' doing the rounds last night that the kid is "willing to stay and fight for his place".

Completely ignoring the fact that Ange said quite clearly in a presser that he won't be involved initially because he's got to settle in and acclimatise to a whole new country and way of life, which is absolutely the right approach.
