I've just received the email below from the club.......

I trust this finds you well. By way of introduction, my name is Mitul and I work in the Premium experiences team here at Spurs.
As you have previous expressed interest in premium opportunities and with the battle for a top four place heating up, I am contacting you to see whether you would be available for an informal catch up?
Here’s a few reasons why I felt there may be some value to chat…
  • With positive momentum building under Antonio Conte, I can confirm that there is definitely a heightened sense of excitement in the stadium and around what the second half of the season could bring.
  • We have played host and continue to secure a varied portfolio of world-class third party events such as, Anthony Joshua vs Oleksandr Usyk, Saracens vs Bristol Bears, Guns N Roses, Lady Gaga, NFL and more.
  • World-class fan experiences combining diverse dining, prime sightlines and the incredible spectacle of being within a stadium that has won 16 major architectural awards.
We believe we have widest range of restaurant choices in the Premier League and would hope that we have experiences within our offering that suit your style and preferences.
With part seasonal packages now available starting from the competitive price of £100.00 per person per fixture, we’re offering fans an opportunity to get involved for this season as a taster!
Would you be available this week for a quick catch up?
Otherwise, I am free Thursday at 4:00pm should this time work for you?

Kind regards,

Mitul Patel

Has anyone else got anything that's bothering them, football or otherwise? put it in here.....

Ah, yes, a "don't get me started" thread - this could run forever.

Football: why don't refs hand out yellow cards like they are supposed to when players stand in front of the ball to stop a quick free kick? And why do we have to wait 20 minutes to get a wall lined up for Harry to hit it?

Non-football: why do I have to pay tax to California? I've never managed to do any business there, I live 2500 miles away, and yet they want to charge me $800 a year for the last 5 years plus about the same in fines and penalties because I was unaware I have to pay tax to a PLACE I HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH? Just hope the Kiribati revenue aren't reading this, I could be in real trouble...

If parents have a combined annual salary of over £50,000 then they get child benefit, if one parent loses their job and the other parents salary is £50,000+ then child benefit payments stop and HMRC come calling for money back.

How is that even a thing?

Does anyone understand the Covid rules any more - I’ve just caught it and I’m not reporting it and I’m not going out until it’s gone and then I’m going out again, is that ok? What about masks? Yes no maybe, crowded places only? PCR or just Lateral flow test is good enough now?

Maybe we should just all have a party like Boris does and like we used to do for the kids and chicken pox…..

Mr Levy,

Who did you build this stadium for?

I ask this because the prices of tickets are so high that I and many others, simply cannot afford the travel, parking, train ticket, entrance fee and sustenance for the sake of 90 minutes of football.

How can this be conducive to anyone wishing to regularly support this club? How do you think getting people hooked so that they commit to this club will happen, unless they get inside and feel the atmosphere without having to have their organs harvested and sold, to buy a ticket.

Let's face it, the dazzling football isn't going to be the clincher for new punters right now is it!

There is a credit squeeze on right now and the cost of living has significantly increased. I'm sure your diamond encrusted unicorn steaks are dreadfully expensive nowerdays!

I know you won't alow poor people into stadiums (you've priced them out) and I am sure as shit that from your luxury super yacht the only thing you can see is the dark overlord Joe Lewis's yacht (he looks at you like a poor person you know) but why don't you get the stadium full to the rafters every single week, in the hope they by a pint or two of your craft brewery's outputs, sample your gourmet pies and dare I say it venture into the club shop to buy something for landfill?

This tactic may fill up the Daniel Levy vanity project and that could inspire the overpaid wankers that pretend to be prime athletes, to put down their Xbox controllers, stop playing fortnight and run around a bit on a Saturday afternoon.

If your not prepared (or the darklord isn't prepared) to treat the fans as anything more than cash machines, will you do the honourable thing and find someone who will and sell the club to them for a fair and honest price.

Thanks

My family recieve child benefit... and I am very grateful for it... the goverment has just announced a rise, no doubt to try and paper over their shambolic management of the country.

I and the Mrs work full time and the additional 32p a month for my 2 children will go a long way to buying them a tin of Aldi chopped tomatoes between them for the month.

Now I'm fortunate enough not to have to rely on this. Lots and lots of families do rely on this money and this again, is tantamount to a real world cut due to the inflation in the cost of living.

Fucking social influencers.

Fuck them.
Absolutely- and why are the Khardashians multi millionnaires and talking of multi millionnaires why aren’t the Jeff Bezos and Elon Musks of the world helping starving people and initiating green programmes rather than racing each other to the moon in private rockets - makes me so angry

..Costa fucking Blanca? Costa freezing fucking cold. I am going to report Spain to the Weather Police, I haven't been able to wear my shorts since Christmas Day, 5 weeks of freezing cold weather, some days it has gone down to 14 fucking degrees centigrade and 4 at night, I was going to go for a swim but the sea has probably frozen. I must be getting more Spaniel, I used to laugh at the locals in their coats, wooly hats and gloves in the winter, now I join them. Now I can never return to Brexitania, I would die of hypothermia the minute I stepped off the plane, luckily I have no plans of ever going 'home', fuck that paying €7 for a beer, all that cold and the fucking Tories? Nah, it's a bit nippy here but in a week or two I will be moaning about how fucking hot it is - I don't think I'll ever lose that British weather whingeing attitude.

And another thing...Lidls have changed the fucking pouring spout on their olive oil and I get about half a fucking litre (about 10 gallons for people still using that fucking stupid olden days system) on my bread, I don't mind that because being proper Spanglish I love olive oil, but I hate wasting money, it's a fucking conspiracy to get me to buy more olive oil. Bastards.

So anyway I wrote to the club and told them what was on mine and thousands of others minds as per below.....(obviously toned down a bit and trying to sound intelligent)
Hello Mitul,
Thank you for your email. I am 58 and have supported Spurs for most of those years, good times and bad, old stadium, Wembley and new. I was immensely proud to get my first season ticket a few years ago and have always loved going to watch Spurs, home, away and in Europe, in the Cup and in the league. Some of my very best memories involve Spurs matches where I have been lucky enough to attend ‘live’, from the ’81 Cup final replay to the Champions League final and much in-between.

It is with genuine great sadness therefore that I have now given up my season ticket and most of my interest, as a result of Mr Levy’s (and thus Mr Hitchen’s) bargain basement attitude to player recruitment in the running the football club, a situation he alone is responsible for, having failed to back the hugely over achieving Mr Pochettino, when asked back in 2018 for funds to refresh the squad. Then subsequently sacking our best manager since Mr Burkinshaw, whilst watching our better players leave or grow old without proper replacement. I suspect he knows and regrets the approach taken.

The decline in the squad in the past 3 years is astronomic and most of us who care passionately about the football, are not very interested in music concerts, Capital Radio balls, Rugby Union or League, NFL, tiddly winks or anything else, including ENIC shareholder wealth. We just want a well managed team with proper backing and investment from the board and decent players, so that we can compete again with some of the top clubs in the UK and Europe. I realise there is a stadium funding argument, but a businessman with Mr Levy’s acumen (together with Mr Lewis and other advisors around him) will be aware of the Arsenal situation after they built the Emirates. We’re heading down the same path.

Mr Levy is the best and worst thing that has happened to Spurs, yes it’s a truly magnificent stadium (and equally magnificent training ground) and luckily he now has a new manager that has a small chance to create a great team – but only if he gets the proper backing, not broken promises and token presents. I would be grateful if you forwarded this email to Mr Levy, I’ve tried to cc him in, as I know via many forums that thousands feel the same way…..We are not interested in the value of a property portfolio, we just want a great team to go in the great stadium he has built.

So regrettably I no longer own my Season Ticket – Mr Mourinho’s appointment and style of football was the final straw, nor will I be interested in any of your premium experiences or architectural awards until we see the back of Mr Levy for a proper football investor (the Stadium is a great legacy) or Mr Levy changes his tactics and priorities. Wasn’t it so very telling that no-one wanted to come and work with him and Spurs as a club last summer as our manager, as fans we were all squirming with embarrassment, there were jokes a plenty across social media, disgraceful really for a club of our size and history.

In fact we have all been voting with our feet haven’t we……I suspect Mr Levy knows this, hopefully he will do something about it, but I’m not holding my breath, the club needs to support the fans and understand their views, not keep coming back to the well and taking shekel they can whilst under investing in the football club.

Kind regards

I remember a few years ago some blokes were prosecuted for nailing each other's bollocks to lumps of wood. There are geezers who have their todgers split down the middle for 'aesthetic reasons',

.......I copied in Donna Cullen, she seems to genuinely care and has emailed me back before about 'safe standing'. then they called me back to say that the letter above had been 'circulated at board level'. This is probably PR BS but you never know, then the gang of 4 left then Steve Hitchen resigned. So you never know... I felt a lot better after writing it and I recommend anyone else doing the same - dont let the bastards get you down!!

You're welcome.

..and another thing. This seems to be a good place to rant about 'other things' eh? I am stuck in the house, trapped, in fucking isolation because of the fucking Sahara fucking desert sending all its fucking sand over here. The air quality is officially rated as 'fucking nasty' and us venerable people are being advised to stay indoors. We have a couple of those air purifier doohickeys working their doodahs off to clean the shitty, nasty, sand infected air. It is also cold, this time last year I was wearing shorts, swimming in the sea and bragging to friends how much better Spain is than where they live. Luckily Mrs D is not a health risk like me, so she can go out and do the shopping - I have to stay home and watch movies and laze around - every cloud has a silver lining, or should that be a fucking sandpit lining?

Two more weeks of this to endure, I should make it without going more mentally deranged than I was before this lockdown.

I am making the most of my incarceration, I have written several letters to my MP, yep, I still have one of them, I'm still a British citizen and can still vote in UK elections for another 11 years. I have been asking him why he UK is so far behind the rest of Europe in helping refugees from Ukraine, why it took so long to apply sanctions to known oligarchs, why hundreds of hem sanctioned by the EU and the US still have not been sanctioned, why Boris Johnson elevated the son of a KGB officer to the Lords, why the same cunt ditched his security to have a cozy chat with that KGB agent, why his party have taken £10m in 'donations' from Russians. Most importantly I have been explaining, politely because getting umpty with these crooks gets you nowhere, that refugees are not fucking immigrants and they should not and do not in a civilised society need fucking visas. Shameful stuff from the evil Cruella Patel and the Russian asset Johnson. I might fire off another one asking why his mate Gove, in his temper tantrum yesterday, said that the 'Hostile environment' was invented by a Labour Home Secretary and does he recall that Theresa May was in fact most definitely not a a Labour Home Secretary.

100,000 good, decent, caring British people have offered to house Ukrainian refugees, the majority of people in the UK are fucking great, sadly the government are evil, crooked, bastards who will do anything to keep the support of their base - who are fcukwitted, selfish xenophobes. I somehow don't think that Cruella will be issuing the 2 or 3 hundred thousand visas that the 100k of offers would cover, which would be a fair share of the burden.

I might also fire off a letter to Gove and ask why he is such a cunt - is he still using the Charlie? Time to stop that bollocks mate, it fucks up your noggin.

Since you have now fled to Spain to avoid all the shit we put up with here, what's the current situation there? Have you got a couple of Ukrainians moving in any time soon? What's Spain like as a place to live? I'm a bit partial to a slice of Catalunya.
