Best Formation and Matches

" 3-4-3 is the best formation for Spurs, it maximises all their best players. Eric Dier and Jan Vertonghen have more time on ball to create. Kyle Walker and Danny Rose get to bomb on more. Victor Wanyama only has to tackle people but if he wants to pass he often has lots of time to do it. Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen live in the half-space where they can create and score with glee. and Harry Kane will always have lots of runners to link with when he drops. Eriksen was especially impressive as he provided two assists and had four attempts himself. "

Read this as a reaction to last nights game and i think i agree with it. It shows that we have the players to match and beat the big boys

Should we be using this as our main formation or do we think its best to alternate based on opposition

We have used this formation 4 times this season and won 3 (Hull, Watford & Chavs) and drawn one,

The media are calling last night's formation 3-4-2-1 specially designed to counter Chelseas wingbacks....which it did. Hail Pochettino

So far we have played 4-4-2 at times,4-5-1 in various guises and 3-4-3 which also becomes 5 at the back,6 in midfield one upfront at times (obviously not all at the same time not even poch can turn 10 players into 12!).
What it does more than allow us to tactically plan for an opponent,is not allow teams to look at our style, formation, personnel and see us as predictable.I seem to remember lots of chaps saying Poch is a muppet he doesnt have a plan B,and yet he is more versatile in set up to redknapp,AVB and sherwood, and most other PL managers.
To be able to out fox your opponents before kick off is infinatly better than making changes during the match because of obvious problems.I think Pochettino is learning fast about this,he is clearly a hard worker and analyser of what does and doesnt work.He is figuring it out,and not just in his bedroom playing FIFA or FM and then discussing on forums.Lets face it so far this year he has pulled one over on guardiola and now Conte, obviously he isnt as bigger spastic as others have made out for the last 3 years.
