Interested to get ppls best XI

Watching the game tonight, showed that once we get Sonny, Biss and Sarr back, there’s a real competition for places in the XI.

Universally, I’m guessing everyone picks the same back 5, they kinda pick themselves. It’s midfield and upfront where it could very interchangeable. My midfield with everyone back and fit, would probably be Biss, Madders and either Benta or Pape, I actually love Pape, he’s got so much drive and dynamism but still pretty raw, whereas Benta gives you stability and a good range of passing.

Up front I’d probably go Werner, Sonny and Johnson. I’ll be honest I’m not a big Kulu fan, works his nuts off but I just find him so one dimensional. Wish Johnson would just run at his LB, he’s got pace but just doesn’t seem to use it enough, pace just causes havoc, whereas 80% of the time Kulu just cuts back inside, and slows play down.

I’m just rambling boys!

Porro, Romero, VDV, Udogie
Bentancur, Bissouma,
Kulo, Maddison,Son
Werner,

Thought about this. With Maddison playing, I think the pace that Werner has would cause far more problems for defender's than Richy imo. Threading balls through with Werner constantly making diagonal runs across them. Kulo for Brennan simply cos he works and works and Bentancur and Bissouma in midfield. Biss for the metal and strength and Bentancur to pass it between the lines to Madders.
This management job is a fucking doddle.

Agree with yid and Dave, it’s really just down to how we lineup across the front. Bless him, but IMO our best XI doesn’t include Richy. He just doesn’t do enough for me, especially against good opposition.

Saying that, against teams that defend a bit deeper, he might be a better option in the 9 than players who need space to run into. But I think he’s really the only one that’s even questionable when everyone is fit.

For clarity I'd upgrade both Kulu and Werner tomorrow if I could...
Agreed. We need another winger that can unbalance defenses on his own. Especially with Sonny playing thru the middle.

Kulu, is a great player and he often does great things, unexpected things...

It's just his lack of pace that stifles him a bit... I'm 100% not anti Kulu. In fact, through the middle I think he could be the Maddison backstop we desperately need... But out wide he seems to rarely take advantage of positions where he is in the driving seat and just needs to switch on the afterburners...

That being said on the other side, Johnson has he afterburners uses them, and contrives to produce even less in terms of meaningful impact...

See above (I know it's crazy early days) for Werner.

I'm being a picky cunt I know.

Yeah, fuck Werner, two games and he hasn't scored yet.... dunno, really. Was it just a fluke that he scored 28 in the Bundesliga in 2019-20? He was pony at Chelsea and only a gnat's pube less pony when he returned to Leipzig. Maybe Posty can get something out of him, if not it won't really matter as we can just send him back at the end of the season.
