Match day thread. Have at it you (mostly) magnificent people.

FWIW I want Spurs to win this game. I don’t give two fucks whether this means the Scum win the title. Given City will be at us and desperate, spoiling the oil cunts party will do wonders for our development and that is all I care about.

I'm saying the same thing now (especially if Villa lose this evening) but can't guarantee I'll feel this way if we're watching them celebrate on the weekend. Honestly hard to see us getting anything from this one anyway. City have kicked it into another gear of late.

I obviously don't want the arse to win the league but I'm not comfortable with hoping we lose against City. I hope the players go out there and express themselves and really take it to City.

I also want us to throw the kitchen sink at them and go for the win. The narrative on social media at the moment is just shocking. Being told you're "not real spurs" if you want us to win tomorrow and people basically demanding we throw the game just to prevent Woolwich potentially winning the title.

One of the reasons given was that their fans would "hold it over us for years" apparently, completely ignoring the fact that they have a whole special "day" that they celebrate every year if we don't finish above them in the league, as well as the small matter of them winning the title at the Lane in 2004 when they got a point against us.

Probably proof that I shouldn't look at social media, especially at my age :)

Apparently Bissouma's season is over as well as he's out with a knee injury for the last two.

Hope we win and the Arse cock up their last match. But I don't see this one going well. City are humming and we virtually have nothing to play for. Expect the worst, hope for the best. They still haven't scored a PL goal at the new stadium, so maybe some hope.

If we get ECL and Arsenal win the league, so be it. It’s probably more important for us as a club.

Ideal situation is Villa lose tonight and at the weekend. We beat City and Sheffield, then Arsenal lose to Everton and City win the league.

We have a great record in recent seasons against City. Pep will be nervy about this one. The only thing that I fear is our midfield being overun early on and us being pinned back from the whistle. If that happens, we're going to find it difficult, but if we really go at them properly and nick one early you never know. Bernard Silva down the right is the big worry with no recognised LB up against him.
Don't give a shite whether Arsenal win the title or not. I'd prefer them not to but if they do, so be it.
Heart says 2-1 us...
Head says 1-3 them..

Well with Villa currently 1-3 down to Liverpool then it looks like a win tomorrow night would send us in to the final day just 1 point behind them, with them away to Crystal Palace.

Well then. Villa manage to grab a point with a 3-3 in the end.

They could still feasibly lose to Palace on the final day and we could take 4th by winning our last two but I do think 5th is looking the most likely now. We basically just need a single point from the last two games to move to 64 because Newcastle and Chelsea can only achieve a maximum of 63.

I think there's every chance they'll lose to Palace, who are playing very well at the moment. Villa look spent, although they dug deep for the point tonight.

I'm pretty apathetic at this point. Have only watched portions of games since we fell off a cliff.

I'm starting to wonder if i'll even bother tonight as well. With Bissouma out, I suspect Hojbjerg will start and we'll have ineffective Sonny up front again.

If Ange actually goes for it and starts Lo Celso and gives Dane Scarlett a go with Sonny on the left then I might actually give it a go.

Look I know Hoijberg is limited and we're looking to upgrade... But Bisouma has been a fucking ghost for the last 2/3 months... Saar almost the same...!

I think we'll miss Hoijberg when he has gone as he is a solid option, a steady pair of hands. He isn't dynamic but if you want someone to run about a bit and protect the defence he's the guy... And for the £25m rumoured fee what the fuck else could we get to replace him?

I suppose to answer my own Question it's Skippy... But if that was the case he'd be starting over Pier wouldn't he... I think it's clear that Ange doesn't fancy the lad and if that is the case, he's another one that could quite easily find significantly more game time elsewhere, even in the Prem.

Bentancur, Bisouma, Saar, Madison with the above omitted ain't enough to win top 6 midfield battles in the Prem... We deffo need some creativity added, we deffo need some back up added (from the youth IMO).

Anyway, that's all for the transfer bollox thread.

I want us to lose more than I want us to win. It's not even schadenfreude. The reason is Villa are capable of getting a point against Palace, and Everton are not capable of beating Arsenal. If you could guarantee me that Everton beat or draw against Arsenal, and City beat West Ham, then I'd obviously want us to win.

I'd still be happy if we won, but I'd be more happy if we denied Arsenal winning the league. Ange can moan all he wants but he hasn't won us a trophy, lost 4 games in a row, including against Arsenal, and has no right to turn up now when it benefits nobody. So, yeah, to go on about some Spurs fans wanting us to lose or the club having a weak mentality for 15 years for only wanting bragging rights is bollocks. He hasn't even earnt us bragging rights this season, never mind a trophy, and we bottled 4th.

I back him to improve next season, but if City win and we partially celebrate, Ange will need counselling himself, never mind the fans that he degraded that will still be here after he leaves.

Nah, lose, not loose. We are loose at the back though. It's pathetic wanting Arsenal to win the league.

You need to have a think about your user name - NoValueMan would be more appropriate I reckon. I will call myself CuntWhoCantEvenFollowHisOwnRulesMan for engaging when I promised myself I would just hit that ignore button, fickle as fuck me.

Not-remoteley-anywhere_near_a_legend Jamie O'Hara is another twat who wants us to lose tonight. He doesn't want all those beastly goon-fans phoning his wireless show and being mean to him.

A lot of people claiming there are a lot of tickets available for tonight as well which is a shame.

I checked and i am not sure those pictures are real or recent. I could not attend and my season ticket was snapped up in 5 minutes.

Also, who are all these fans climbing out the woodwork on telly and social media wanting us to lose tonight. So what if Arsenal won the league, they already have won the league many times.

it makes no difference to Arsenal if they finish 1st or 2nd, it makes a massive difference to us if we finish 4th instead of 5th.

i don’t think we will win tonight, and that’s fine. City are a better team than us, but hopefully we will put up a fight.

if we can get to the weekend and both us and Villa need a win, I can see us beating Sheffield more than Villa beating Palace away from home

Yep. 100% given and I won't have any complaints whatever the result. City are a great side, but are not unbeatable, we have had some good, unexpected results against them and that will strike fear into their hearts, so we will probably win 3 or 4 nil (or not, it doesn't really matter). Whingeing that we haven't won anything in Ange's first season or throwing all the toys out of the pram because we didn't make the Champions League or hoping we lose to dent the Goons chance of the title is in my opinion - wankery. At the start of the season I thought 5th would be a very good result for this season and unless we fuck it up totally in the last game, that is what we should get. If we manage a win tonight then the last game could be interesting. COYS, fuck what other teams do.

I’d hope that means that the other stories doing the rounds of some season ticket holders selling their seats to Arsenal fans is also not true.

Although saying that, if it is true then I’d find it quite amusing of those people subsequently had their season tickets revoked.

I believe you have to be a member to buy tickets, and membership is closed for the season. So, unless they became members a few months ago then its social media bullshit.

Although, I am sure some have snuck in (borrowed a mates phone).

Risking next years season ticket is fucking dumb.

I thought you would have been all over the schadenfreude. Just when it is against Liverpool?

Personally I find it hilarious that Arsenal fans are wearing Spurs shirts and I hope they get the full Spurs experience like we did in the NLD.

It's only fair we have a similar result against City.

Again, if (and it's a massive "if") we could beat them, we'd have a very good chance at fourth. Palace are at home against Villa and are unbeaten since March. We have relegated Sheffield United. So I don't get people, including some in the media, acting like there's nothing at stake.

So fuck it, let's have a go. At least make them earn it. Two things you can be sure of: 1) it won't be boring and 2) a lot of fans who say before the game that they want us to lose will be moaning about Ange if City do actually win.

Saying that, I can't help thinking about this nightmare scenario: We beat City, Arsenal win the league, Villa lose, and we fucking blow it against Sheffield United.
