Danny Rose is close to committing his future to Tottenham by signing a long-term contract.

Rose will follow Eric Dier who put pen to paper on a new five-year deal on the eve of the Champions League opener against Monaco.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino said he hoped there would soon be confirmation of more contract extensions.

Love it. We are a different proposition with him on the pitch, I think. If I had to choose, he's probably my favorite player among the current crop.

We are delighted to announce that Danny Rose has signed a new contract with the Club which will run until 2021

http://m.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/club/announcement/new-deal-for-danny-rose-220916/

Signed from Leeds United in 2007, Rose wrote his name into Club folklore with a stunning goal against Arsenal on his Premier League debut in 2010. That came in between several loan spells away from the Club, most notably at Sunderland, with whom he spent the 2012-13 season.

The 26-year-old has since fully established himself in our team and he has made 126 appearances and scored nine goals to date. He was also named in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year for 2015-16.

His fine form has seen him break into the senior England squad with eight caps to his name following his debut earlier this year.

Good work. If the new players added this summer make a big impact we're gonna have a bloody good team most of whom will be tied down to long term contracts. It's a good time to be a spurs fan with so much in the pipe line too.

Not often nowadays players earn a testamonial,10 years next year for young danny boy,has already said in recent weeks he wants to do a Ledley and have one club.Has become an awesome self-improved player (OFC with the coaches guidance&a sprinkling of the Poch magic!).Didnt make a bad debut either.;)

Do you remember Harry's pre-match interview before that arse game?

Sky bod was questioning him on why he was giving Rose his full debut in an NLD, Harry seemed to have a look on his face that was almost like he planned for Rose to have such an impact.

So I watched the Citeh game again tonight, and the more I watch the more I think about how much better we are with him in the lineup. This is no slight on Davies, who I rate very highly, but we are a different proposition with Danny on the left and Walker on the right. His commitment to every challenge, as much as what he brings tactically, is something to see.

Yeah agreed. His athleticism is a huge asset. And he's becoming incredibly consistent. Almost to the point where his performances are sometimes overlooked because he's so good so often.

Only thing I worry about is that the way he flies into 50/50 challenges he's going to continue to get a lot of knocks. Absolutely clattered 5-6 times on Sunday, which is not abnormal for him.

Yeah he seems to need treatment at least once or twice a game. But I don't think it's something that's going to stop, so hopefully he can find a way to remain injury free. He never backs down from a challenge and does seem to be on the receiving end of more hard fouls than just about anyone on the team.

What's even more impressive is that on Sunday he was coming back from a mild hamstring injury and played the full 90 minutes at full tilt. I think some of the 'injuries' particularly involving Sterling might have been 'exaggerated' shall we say....Sterling was on a yellow.....

According to the Express, he is having a scan tomorrow. Fingers crossed, all will be well.

Yeah I read that in the spurs media section on the website. Can't remember what newspaper that info came from though. Scan on Thursday but they expect him back in about a month which is gutting. Losing super Jan was bad enough but our firecracker down the left as well will make it that much more tougher for us to get forward. I'm sure Ben will be brilliant and step up.

Still hope the info is wrong though. Hurry back Danny :(

Specialist on Monday.... that is bad right?
Wouldnt read too much into what Poch says,he is usually quite guarded talking about injuries.I would think if it requires a specialist to diagnose its not an obvious bad injury,or at least that what I read into the club not stating a lengthy absence yet.If he is out a month thats only 3 league games,

I am trying to remain positive here!!;)
