So on the back of the transfer window closing and with Ndombele leaving and thinking how gutless he was showing no fight for the club or team I was thinking of players whether they were really good or really shit who really loved the shirt and the fans.

Here are some of my picks

Soldado
Gomes
Lucas Moura
Ledley King
Michael Dawson
Vertonghen
Son
Sandro
Van Dee Vaart

Hard to disagree with any of these guys so far. Loved Steed M in particular. Another sort if middling player that I liked—always kinda thought I was in the minority on this—was Chimbonda.

Dembele by a mile is my favorite of recent times. Played so hard and was SO good! Never lost the ball. I think it was literally never. Couldn't shoot a lick, but you can't have it all. Also a pick soft spot for Defoe. Just loved when he scored for us. And Toby was immense and made you feel like we could achieve anything. Scotty Parker played his balls off, even if it rarely amounted to much.

I loved Berbatov at his best, I remember asking the bloke sitting next to me at the Lane when he came back with Fulham if it was alright to have a bit of a semi when he walked on the pitch. Why has only @Dave mentioned Ginola? His hair was magnificent, he was worth it! Bale does not appear to be getting much love either, another memory from the Lane was when some pissed up wanker sitting near me kept shouting 'You play on the fucking left' - Gareth turned round and said 'oh shut up' - that was him getting very miffed! HM the King Ledley I of N17 goes without saying.

Going back millions of years, I remember the 'Chivers' chants, I liked him I think, my memories of those days are very chemically and alcoholically fuzzy as fuck. Of course Steve Perryman has to be on the list. Nice One Cyril, Ossie, Dave McKay, Jimmy G, Martin Peters, Alan Gilzean, Alan Mullery are a few of the players I have been lucky enough to have seen on the pitch and SIr Bill as manager. So many memories, some were even good and some I can even remember.

Anyone mention Charlie...?

I remember his defending and positional play was soooooooooooooooo good, it mattered not a single fuck that a 3 legend tortoise was quicker than him...

Absolute Roles Royce of a defender...
