Let’s keep the momentum going.

This is the first ever meeting between Ferencvárosi TC and Tottenham Hotspur, while it’s Spurs’ first ever game against a Hungarian opponent.

Ferencvárosi TC have lost each of their last four games in the UEFA Europa League; only between September and November 2021 have they ever lost five straight games in the UEFA Cup/UEFA Europa League.

Vicario
Gray
Romero
Davis
Udogie
Sarr
Bergvhal
Bissouma
Deki
Moore
Solanke

shame we cant rest another CB, but Radu is banned.

I predict 2-5.

This is the tournament I really feel we should be focusing on. I have a nagging doubt that our lack of defensive option in the Europa squad could be our undoing. Mistake to leave Spence out IMO.

Not sure what the alternative was. We have Udogie, VDV and Davies who can all play LB. Dropping Werner, would have left us light in the attacking third. Maybe Forster instead, but not sure our 2 other GKs are a good standard

They've won their first six games in the Hungarian League, but I watched their highlights against Anderlecht, and they really don't look like a side that should give us many problems.

I believe we have 4 goalies, Vicario, Forster, Whiteman and Austin plus Gunter can be used too. I would have dropped one of Whiteman or Austin. Don't forget Spence is usually a RB by trade that can cover LB. Hopefully though it won't be a problem.

I think dropping any of the other keepers would allow Spence to be a part of the squad. I think they are considered club trained.

Yes of course! Different rules in Europa. Shame we couldn't get Walker-Peters back.

If this isn't the club looking (just a fucking little bit) like cheap can't spend won't spend cunts... Then I don't know what is.

Look I always like Regi, but it's patently obvious he is not is Anges plans and he has just got on a plane for our European cup games.

It's also damming on our academy also that there not being trusted to warm the fucking bench.

Don't know if this makes it better or worse, but he's not even there to warm the bench, just to make up the numbers for the practice squad.

Hoping he goes full John Terry when we win.

Can I ask you about the squad, is there anyone you've left behind and we've seen Sergio Reguilon is here too although he can't play, why is that?

He's a Spurs player, mate. I mean, we've got a training session so it's a balance that we need 20 players for training, that's what we do for match day minus one. It didn't make sense to bring someone like Radu or a couple of guys who have got injuries because we won't get back until late on Thursday. We've brought a couple of young guys in. The academy played last night and we didn't want to disrupt that, but we brought a couple of young guys and Reguilon to make sure our training is really good today. Squad-wise, from the weekend Destiny hasn't travelled. It's nothing significant, his injury but again it didn't make sense to bring him over if he wasn't going to play. Radu is suspended and Sonny is back in London doing rehab, but the rest of the squad plus the young players have travelled.

Ange Postecoglou has provided an update on Heung-Min Son and Destiny Udogie after arriving in Hungary for Thursday's UEFA Europa League clash against Hungarian champions Ferencvaros.

The duo have both been forced off in recent outings - Sonny in our UEL Matchday 1 win over Qarabag last Thursday and Destiny in Sunday's 3-0 win at Old Trafford - and have not travelled with the squad to Budapest.

Speaking to us exclusively on SPURSPLAY ahead of the clash at the Groupama Arena in the Hungarian capital, Ange told us: "Sonny and Destiny are back in London. They're working away, but they're not available for this one. Everyone else from the weekend got through the game and is good to go."

As for the inclusion of younger players and Sergio Reguilon in the travelling party, Ange added: "We've got training sessions (here),so we've brought young players and Reggy, just to make sure the quality of our training is what it needs to be today."

A reminder that Radu Dragusin is suspended after his red card in MD1 against Qarabag, while Djed Spence, like Reguilon, is ineligible. Richarlison and Wilson Odobert remain sidelined. Cristian Romero is available, however, having served his suspension from a red card against AC Milan in the Champions League back in March, 2023, and sitting it out against Qarabag.

Dibusz on Tottenham
We have the chance to play against one of the best teams [in the Premier League] and it's going to be a huge challenge for us.
Everybody is eager to play tomorrow's game. This is one of the biggest home matches we'll have. This excitement is motivation for us. They could easily be in the Champions League. This is the level they are at. They are one of the teams that have a chance to reach the final. They're definitely among the top teams we've faced.

Now the Ferencvaros London-born coach Pascal Jansen
The way I see it, Tottenham are at another level to Anderlecht so we need to take [our play] to another level.
If you know a little bit about my background then you'll know what I thought about Tottenham coming up in the draw. I have a lot of sympathy for any team from the UK because I was born there, in London, but I'm working for Ferencvaros and I want the best for them.

I was born in London and so was my mother, but she came through the foster care system so we didn't know her roots. My grandparents on my father's side lived in Aylesbury so we would come back to see them and I'd play with my friends and take an interest in football.

Tottenham were one of my favourite sides along with another couple of teams. I liked them because they played in white.

I'm looking forward to playing them. I played against Ange before with Celtic with my former side AZ and that was quite intense.
I know the team because I follow the Premier League quite intensely. There are several ways to play against Tottenham but it's key that you stay close to what you are without being niave.

Their last game was away against Manchester United and although there was a red card they are one of the strongest in the Premier League and they dealt with Qarabag well even though they were a man down.

James Maddison
I want to be in the England squad, every player does. I know Lee Carsley well. I feel really fit, maybe the fittest I've ever been. I had the summer off and it's been said about Erling Haaland and how sharp he's come back feeling, and I feel confident and alive. I can only take care of what I do at a club level.

I always want to prove doubters wrong and that's where I get my hunger from. I want to do the best I can for Tottenham Hotspur.

James Maddison on Mikey Moore
Mikey, I have to sometimes pinch myself and remember how young he is. He's 17 and came into the group when he was 16. He's a man already. When I watch him play, he's very powerful and only going to get stronger as his body grows.

He's a great kid. A really well-mannered, polite young man and that's a credit to his parents. That's the first thing you look to as a senior player. And then there's that ability which we see in training all the time and the Spurs fans want to see more of.

I try to think of what the 17-year-old James Maddison would want to hear from a senior player and it's to be treated like a man but also give advice whenever possible.
