Way too jolly in here this morning, let's bring the tone down a bit. We're currently sorting out the funeral for my father-in-law and I have been tasked with doing the playlist of tunes. That of course could be a mistake as my choices would not please everybody, no fuck off, they would not please anybody at all - except me. Some of my very reasonable suggestions have already been vetoed, Velvet Acid Christ - Let's Kill All These Motherfuckers, nope. Gang Bang by Alex Harvey is right out and Motorhead's Killed By Death which Mrs Dorset will play at my funeral or I will haunt the doodahs off of her, is also on the unapproved list.

Oh well, Nat King Cole's Unforgettable, Vera Lynn We'll meet again and Morecambe and Wise's Bring me sunshine it us then, he'll like them tunes.

Anybody else chosen their going away party tunes? You have to do it or you'll get some right pony stuff played and that will spoil the day for you.

Taking about Motorhead - anyone remember this when Timmy Mallet was on the same stage as Lemmy?

It is one of the few memories left in my head, I was sitting in the tip we affectionately called a flat with my mates, watching kids TV like wot we did on a Saturday morning then on came fucking Motorhead! Ironfist, Killed By Death, Ace of Spades, Steal your face and Overkill in the fucking carpark. Brilliant! This was probably one of the best live sets they ever did because they were a bit pony sometimes, Lemmy was such an unpredictable chap.

Not a tune, I can't think at the moment because I'm still laughing at Arsenal....but an amusing epitaph....Spike Milligan I think?

'I told you I wasn't feeling very well'

First and best band I ever saw live, fuckin AMAZING couldn't speak for a week after. Not sure how it would go down at a funeral though! Well for my Dad we picked a few James Brown tracks as he liked the Soul R&B stuff, that felt right and worked well I thought.

Not sure about me, maybe this... just because I know it would piss everyone off!

I went to the first ever Motorhead gig, they were absolute shite, Lemmy had drunk a couple of sweet sherries I believe, but they got better, not as good as Chas & Dave of course,.

Of course ;)

I don't remember much of the actual gig, it went pre-gig drinks, OH I met Dave Murray from Iron Maiden before that gig (just remember that),made a proper twat of myself as well. Then onto Astoria, red stripe, NOISE, orgasmatron, hooky t-shirt and then home I think!

I was looking up funeral tunes on the googley doobrie and found that the Match Of The Day theme tune is popular, that would be good. How about the massed choir of Tottenham singing the Judas song, I want that one! It would be a right laugh having the words in the order of service so both the people at my funeral can sing along, yeah,I am being optimistic the other one will probably be busy that day. Maybe my song should be 'All by Myself', but I would like to invte a few folks to share the journey into the furnace with me.

A few weeks ago I went to see “Think Floyd” , and with their female singer , did probably the best cover I’ve ever heard of
“The great Gig in the sky ”......... “ and I am not frightened of dying , any time will do, I don’t mind , why should I be frightened of dying ? Theres no reason for it , you’ve gotta go sometime............fecking genius lyrics and then Clare Terry letting rip , that’ll shake up the place a bit , and so this will be my funeral warm up song in ........
And my final song will be “Comfortably numb “ , and I suppose a good rousing hymn in between , something like “ Abide with Me” or “my eyes have seen the Glory” ........
It’s something I must get organised so when my time comes, I don’t get some other arsehole choosing , “ Straight to hell” , or “wake me up before you gogo” , it’ll be my funeral and I’m choosing the songs
