No its not sergio aguero`s GPG stats, but can Harry actually beat Clive Allens 30 year old 49 goals in a season??
In 1987,I think the best spurs team since i began attending matches possibly?enabled Allen to score 49 goals in 54 games smashing jimmy`s and Chivers` previous club record of 42.It looked like a record for the ages, but well maybe not.Clive scored 33 league goals and 16 in other competitions and like Harry boy played as a lone striker,we had a couple of youngsters in the squad as back up with a newly arrived nico claesen with Bilko going on loan to watford that season. So much like today, reliant on one striker pretty much.

I will be honest I thought about starting this thread awhile back but sort of discounted it as a pipe dream which in todays game of rotation against "minnow" teams would be impossible for Kane to reach. And yet here we are mid february with Kane already up (just about) with last seasons magnificent 35 goals (in 38 games!!).Is it possible he can bag the 16 goals to catch Clive?if he scores 8 in a week like last season certainly, but it wont be helped by the fact the scum arent in champions league or the FA cup cos Harry boy does like a goal against the woolwich (as did clive!)

Clive scores another against woolwich.

and so does Harry!!

“The 86-87 season was a phenomenal season for me and one I’ll never forget,” said Clive, who scored 84 goals in 135 matches for us between 1984-88. “Whether or not anyone beats it...I’ll be honest, I hope they don’t! But if anyone can, it will be Harry, for sure.I grew up listening to my father Les (striker in our double-winning team of 1960-61) and Jimmy Greaves took his place in the double side. He told me he was the greatest goalscorer that’s ever been.I managed to beat his best total and I’m proud of that, and I see great things in Harry. It’s absolutely fantastic what he’s done.Don’t forget after that first season in 2014-15 people were saying’ well, it was a bit of a lucky season, a one-off’ but he’s now done it for three seasons, not one. To be that consistent at that level is phenomenal, especially in the modern game now.
“He’s in the best place to score goals – so anything is possible!”

The best thing about Kane is every time you think he cant do something or reach something he does,50 goals in a season,in this day and age,impossible..

Over to you Harry.......

Even if he doesnt,he will still score more goals than sanchez, welbeck, giroud, mick the tarian,aubamer-bang average, walcott, lacazette combined for woolwich this year, now there`s a thought to make you smile.

If he plays all the games he can do that for sure. If he plays against Rochdale and whoever in the next round (should we qualify),then I expect he'll score a few in them games alone and it looks a lot easier for him to achieve.

Had a quick search, but am pretty sure I dont remember a player getting 50 of your finest english goals in a season in a my lifetime.Dixie Dean in 1928 is all google throws back.
PL record is 34 goals shared by andy cole and shearer back in the age of 42 matches a season.

So if Harry can squeeze 4 goals in the fa cup and 3 in CL he needs another 9 in the league to tie Allen`s record, stick a hatrick in there somewhere, that would leave 6 goals in 10 games, doable.Listen to me 16 more goals easy peasy, many a year 16 goals would be the most our out&out striker would get all season!!

Since 1996 when the 38 game season started there have only been 5 seasons where our top striker got 20 or more in the Premier League.. In 1992 Teddy got 21 and in 1995 Jurgen the German got 21 (when there were 42 games in a season )

2013 Gareth Bale 21
2015 Harry Kane 21
2016 Harry Kane 25
2017 Harry Kane 29
2018 Harry Kane 23 - and counting

In the 38 game era, the most goals scored by a player in a Premier League season is 31, Ronaldo in 2008, and Shearer in 1996 (Shearer got 34 in 1994 and Cole in 1994 ).

I would be happy to place a wager on Harry breaking the 31 goal record - yet another record smashed by the four season wonder. His 87 MPG last season was fucking astounding, I really thought that Ronaldo's 88 would never be beaten, it was.

The man is phenomenal, I think however Mr Aguero will be one to watch this season with all the resources that City have had, they're just scoring so many goals. Let's hope not, Sir Harry for England and St. George.
