I am hoping a few get benched and stir the pot a little for this match, some of our midfielders must think they are playing no matter what,i am happy to see winks, dier and sissoko all start this match and if they do well start on sunday against burnley, maybe a bit of competition for places is what is needed to squeeze more from the group,or that they will "learn" quicker.

2 wins would be great, 4pts not disastrous but...........
Nothing easy I know but I kinda hope 6pts with +4/5 goals on our goal diff over the next week sets us up nicely

Sissoko probably deserves a start in a game like this. Wouldn't mind seeing winks and Dier in the middle too. Is asking Toby to play two in a such a short space of time a bit too much, maybe save him for Burnley... Anyway I'm sure we'll be looking for a big 3 points in this game!

Lamela,janssen and dembele out
http://www.hamhigh.co.uk/sport/foot...against_southampton_after_christmas_1_4815089

Tottenham’s Erik Lamela could be back in action at Southampton on December 28 after returning to training after a hip injury.

The Argentinian has been out of action since October 25, and manager Mauricio Pochettino admitted at the start of this month that he was “a little bit worried” about the 24-year-old’s slow rate of recovery.

Lamela will be missing again tomorrow when Spurs host Hull City in the Premier League - along with Mousa Dembele and Vincent Janssen - but Pochettino has now delivered a positive update on his fitness.

“He was back in London yesterday [after a trip home for personal reasons],” said Spurs’ manager. “He’s training. He’s much better but now it’s normal that after a few days in Argentina he needs to recover the feeling and start training again.

“We need to assess him and we’ll see in the next few days if he can be available as soon as possible, but we cannot give a date when he will be available again.

“The weekend is maybe too early – maybe Southampton and we’ll see. We hope as soon as possible he can be available and training with the group again.”

Dembele limped off in the second half of Spurs’ 1-0 defeat at Manchester United on Sunday, and Pochettino said: “Mousa will be out for tomorrow and we’ll see for Sunday [against Burnley]. It’s his foot, he got a kick in his foot.

“It’s very painful now and we need to see what happens in the next few days. Maybe he will be available for Sunday.”

Vincent Janssen could be the last of Tottenham’s injured players to return to action.

“He’s still out, it’s a problem with his ankle still,” said Pochettino. “We’ll see, maybe [he’ll be out until] next year. For Sunday he’s out and then we’ll see about Southampton but we’re not sure.”

True....but reading the names, all of which are actually still very recent, gives me a feeling of 'old' style Spurs rather than the more vibrant new one that Poch is creating.

Hope they get a great reception and then lose 4-1.

Very liberating to say that without some pricks calling into question your sanity.

THFC said today a limited number of tickets have been returned by Hull,so all lower park lane will be home support, think they are only available by phone to the ticket office.
Queue the "we`ve seen your mini bus" song or you must have come in a taxi...
Not suprising, midweek hundreds of miles,no chance of a return train, really the FA could be more fan friendly for midweek fixtures.

Good point, why not swap the Watford and Hull fixtures over when it came out as a Wednesday night....

You big fuck mental head is! They is shit, all is shit what is gone from tottingham spurs. Dawson too slow, big fat Thudd too big fat not pass long good, fat bloke. You am mental looney head.

Whoops one of the others got out, I must have skipped my meds this morning. I miss Daws and Thudd as well and Ryan and I always thought Jake would develop into a pucker player. Big cheer for these guys tonight I hope, of course there will be because the numpties don't not never go to watch soccer do they? I doubt if I'l get to see the game tonight as the sports bars here will for sure be showing one of the Mank games - who is tottingham hull they will ask me and I will say loudly and slowly so they understand - fuck off Pedro.

It is bad enough coming from Hull, I went there once, yerrkk, not a nice place! I am sure the court of human rights would kick the FA right up the mangina for scheduling this game as a midweeker.

Good first half of football tonight. Could have carved out a few more clear cut chances but I get the feeling a few easier home games like this will get the confidence high and get the boys ready to really hit the second half of the season. We didn't really get going until the crimbo period last year and looks to be the same again this year!

COYS!!!

Not a bad omen, remember Utd in the 90s never really got going until January!

What a run from Jan, just a shame he couldn't finish it off......watching as ever on the IPad , mediaLivePlayer ,.......whilst watching a Man Utd v Palace, for 2nd time in 3 games Rojo did a two footed tackle and get away with it, this time a yellow, and then Utd take the lead, via a Ibrahimovic handball pass to an offside Pogba ........how do they always seem to get away with it
