January Transfer Window 2025.

Well, as we see our season stutter and crumble due to a plethora of injuries, a distinct lack of depth, and a smattering of tactical naivety...

What do we think we need in this window to make a difference...?

What excuses will the dark lord give this year...?

Will there be "no value in the market"... Will there have to be "player sales to fund purchases"...

Will a squad member pipe up and talk of dressing room discord or ask his agent to agitated for a mid season move away from the lane...?

Will Ange make it to the Jan window, Spurs fans and even "He who must not be named" have been known for their hyper sensitive knee joints in the past...

No idea what Jan will bring myself and apathy has set in, which I never expected under Ange...

Anyway let's chat bollox and stick Transfer nonsense in here...

I've heard already that we're considering recalling Ashley Phillips from his loan at Stoke City. By all accounts he's having a decent run with them so at least we'd have another recognised CB available rather than having to stick everyone's name in a hat and pull one out before each game.

I think we'd also need to look at some kind of left sided player to be a second option for Sonny, who is looking more and more like his race has been run in every game.

Definitely on the left-sided player. I suppose the good news for the dark lord is that Forster has probably played well enough that there is less of a need to buy a GK in January. Beyond that, there's really no position that we couldn't do with strengthening, though there's enough youngsters that there will always be the temptation to just go with them as cover. I could see us bringing in a couple of players, which is a pretty significant number for January.

Centre back, a left winger as I don't see Werner wanting to stay after Ange's comments and the rather odd disappearance of Mikey Moore and the injury to the lad we got from Burnley, oh and the perpetually injured Richardson, speaking of which also means another striker too.

Then we need another right winger as Johnson seems to be the only option. A midfielder that can break up play oh and a left back to compete/kick Udogie up the arse, a back up right back as Spence doesn't seem favoured.

Get those in and we will be sorted. Probably. Probably not.

This just shows how lacking or thin our squad actually is. Yet, according to some, Ange has to go.

Not sure about centre back options to be honest but I'd be digging deep to bring in Mbeumo from Brentford. He is an absolute steam roller of a player.

I'd grab Aina from Forest too.

A hard tackling midfielder would be my priority. After that, I'd invest in a top keeper.

Tottenham and Newcastle battling for Abdukodir Khusanov transfer in January

Premier League rivals considering swoop for 20-year-old defender who could be prised away from Lens for £25 million

Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle are chasing Lens centre-back Abdukodir Khusanov ahead of a deal in the next transfer window for the breakout star of Ligue 1.

Khusanov, 20, has forced his way into Lens’ team after arriving from Belarusian club Energetik-BGU Minsk just 18 months ago and attracting scouts from Europe’s top teams to watch a player who was signed for €100,000.

While Paris St-Germain have been linked with the Uzbekistan international, it is understood that seven English top-flight clubs are interested in Khusanov, who has started nine of his club’s 13 matches in the campaign.

Lens stand to make a huge profit on a player who could fetch more than £25 million in the current market, with his value poised to increase as he continues to shine in Will Still’s team.

Still, the Belgian-born Briton who was appointed as head coach at Stade Bollaert-Delelis this summer, has picked Khusanov when available, and recalled the defender to the team for this weekend’s win over Reims after he had served a suspension. Khusanov can also play as a defensive midfielder but has been the mainstay of Still’s defence.

Spurs will weigh up whether they need a centre-back in January, injuries having denied them their first-choice pairing of Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven in recent weeks. Their stunning 4-0 win against Manchester City came with Ben Davies moved inside to centre-back to partner Radu Dragusin.

Newcastle, meanwhile, have watched Khusanov and consider him a promising young talent who could make the step up to the Premier League from French football.

Lens have an impressive record of nurturing talent in recent seasons, with Lois Openda joining RB Leipzig for €46 million, while Elye Wahi moved to Marseille last summer for €30 million.

Lot of talk that we're looking at signing Grealish on loan. Since he's getting in excess of £300k a week, we'd apparently be expecting City to stump up a fair portion of that.

If we brought him in and let Werner go, I'd be pretty pleased with that. Ange would still need to get a tune out of him though I think.

From Twitter:

Olivier Boscagli and Michael Zetterer are both targets.

Tier 2🥈[Mysterio]

Paratici was at the last game, let’s hope he can pull off another Bentancor/Kulusevski type deal

Grealish would be a surprise. Ange likes pace and running power in the wide areas. Something Grealish does not have.

Unless he wants him as another 10 behind the front.

Cannot see this one happening

I suppose it could come down to who signs off on it. If someone at the club wants a "name" to appease the fans then Ange might not get much of a say.

Agreed this is nonsense unless he is looking to put the gypsies up Madison and play him centrally... And Kulu has that gif wrapped up anyway...

Grealish would not cut it...

He is a fucking greasy haired show pony and we don't want that...

Milan Skriniar is apparently available on loan but of course we'll be nowhere near that.

Also apparently Leipzig have declared that there's no chance of Werner rejoining them in January as he'll be one of their highest paid players and they don't want to pay the wages of someone who won't be playing which suggests no break clause for one thing.

We also supposedly have no plans on making his signing permanent either which is something I guess.

Sonny and Ben Davies are now officially in the final 6 months of their respective contracts so would be free to talk to other clubs about transfers at the end of the season.

Ben Davies has absolutely earnt a contract extension and should be given one but I wonder what will happen with Sonny?

I suspect the most likely will be that we'll activate the additional year on his deal but he'll be 33 this year so it makes you wonder if we'll allow him to leave on a free like we did with Vertonghen ?.

It would be incredibly tacky for the Dark Lord to try and get a fee for him which is clearly what he'd want to do.

Shows how much faith we've got in the Academy Players to step up i suppose. He's 21 and expected to cost around £10m. At least it's a signing though and not endless speculation that we're "considering" a move for so and so.

Had never heard of him but he's 1.90 cm tall & been on the Czech Republic NT at every age level. His dad kept more than 100 clean sheets as a 'keeper. Hopefully he can do the same for us.

Honestly I think he’d be ok with that.
I think you're right mate... His level of fucks seemed patently obvious...

This lad can do a decent job, no fucking worse that Forester that's for sure.

I’d love us to get in a very similar profile player to Alexis MacAlister. Great engine, and really neat and tidy on the ball.

Brilliant player. Gravenberch too for that matter.
