Tottenham Hotspur - All Games
The away team today, Tottenham Hotspur have faced Liverpool 49 times in previous Premier League encounters, they have won 13, lost 22 and drawn 14.

Tottenham Hotspur - Home Games
Tottenham Hotspur have played Liverpool 25 times in previous home Premier League encounters winning 11, losing 7 and drawing in 7 games.

Tottenham Hotspur - Away Games
Playing away, today's away side have faced Liverpool 24 times in the Premiership, winning 2, losing 15 and the honours were shared in 7 games.

Not a great record at Anfield is it,however the league doesnt lie,and 6 out of 7 seasons we have finished above them, winning on Saturday will go a long way to making it 7 out of 8 years we have bested them in the table.
After this match we resume Europa league next thursday, though I doubt selection will be affected!!
Jan,Danny,Lamela still out barring a miracle, not sure about Trippier yet,Poch`s presser is later today guess we will find out then.

COYS

Oh yeah Anthony Taylor is ref.:)

Well done @skiathospurs Clearly very tough and we should really be quite happy with a draw, bit like Man City away, but somehow that doesn't seem enough in this brave new Pochettino Spurs world, does it. We feel like we can win every game and perhaps we need to with Chelsea so far in front, but remember there is still a third of the season to go and that is a lot. We can win, but I expect a big performance from Liverpool, same as we got from City, will we win, yes of course but only by 1 goal 2-1 Spurs. Let's do it.

ps Watch the first half of the Rugby, record the rest, then watch the football, then the second half of the Rugby. Two victories for teams in white over teams in red on one afternoon. What's not to like.

ps sorry forgot to mention the two games that Anthony Taylor has reffed us this year, we have won 4-0 on both occasions - Stoke away and WBA home.

TEAM NEWS: "Danny is doing well. After seeing the specialist we're happy with the assessment & now it's about recovery & building fitness."
"We hope @trippier2 will be in the squad. @JanVertonghen is doing well & can maybe start working with the group next week."
"@ErikLamela is taking it step by step. The good thing is the injured players are all very positive, that's important."

Nothing about Nkoudou yet who had a knee injury from the wycombe game.

Lamela is the only weird one for me....it just doesn't sound right. Luckily Poch is Argentinian so if anything can be done he'll do it and age may be a factor, but I'm not sure that the total problem is in his hip.

First time I've really watched and concentrated on a 20 minute press conference. The managers are very patient with some of the same very boring questions every week I guess. Interesting that Poch still likes his translator near him.

I watch his press conference every week mate. I can't believe the club doesn't have this on their site yet either! There must be an email to be sent to get them to sort it out, shirley!?

They do this TV one, they then do written press and one on one interviews afterwards,The same shit over and over,no wonder he never mentions Lamela anymore!but he seems a pretty patient chap.

Living here you are a fascination for tourists, the same mind numbing questions over and over and over, most common is "what do you do in the winter" the challenge now is to see what is the biggest whopper you can tell them,I have convinced people that in the winter I work in the caribbean rehabilitating animal park dolphins to hunt again in the wild, they lap it up "oh how lovely how lucky you are "imagine what I m thinking!!,I can get deeply into the BS,the more you tell the more they believe it.I would tell some right porkies if I was Poch!!

What if it was the other way round? Would that worry you as well?

Football is irrational, enjoy the fantastic stuff we're watching, no team is going to win every game, Real Madrid are getting close but that's about it!!

This has all the makings for a very exciting game in my opinion. Liverpool have been toss since the turn of the year but I got a feeling they will be a lot better this week, after losing at home to Hull they're gonna want to make a big statement and it's often better to have a big team up next when you've just had a few poor results as it get the players right up for it. They also have a few players returning from injury/ACON so we'll see a strong team from them this week. We have a couple of worries at the back with Rose and Jan but I think we'll cope reasonably well as long as Mane doesn't get all pver Davies on their right flank. Their defence is pretty poor so I think if we can dominate the possession and restrict their chances I think we'll get a win from this one, although it won't be easy.

Wanyama&Dembele vs Can&Henderson,we should dominate the midfield!!Heads up guys,we have every chance here,if get the first goal cant wait for that fantastic anfield atmosphere.Dodgy keeper, dodgy defence control possesion and test the dodgyness!!My only worry is if we faff about at the back and give it away.

For as long as I've been a Spurs fan I've hated this game. Was traditionally a very unhappy hunting ground as a kid, with only 1 or 2 exceptions, and even though we are now more than matching them in terms of league positions over the last few years they still seem to be a tricky game where I never feel confident. 2 wins from 24 is really not good enough. That stat needs to improve. Starting today.

I fully agree with this @skiathospurs. I don't think Liverpool are going to be as terrible as they have recently been though, surely Flopp can't send them out a disorganised as they have been in recent weeks against us? But as you say get an early lead ( easier said than done) then we really will see what they're made of.

There's much sense being spoken in these posts but it's that horrible game, a bit like Chelsea away. Remember that during January Coutinho was injured and Mane was in Africa, these are liverpool's two most influential players. Imagine Spurs without Eriksen and Dele for 6 weeks, we may not perform too well.
Today will be very difficult, but not impossible. They press even harder than we do, so no faffing allowed, and I went to the home game early this season and they were impressive in the 1-1 draw.

I'm hopeful because we are solid in every area, but we will need to be at 100% in every area as well. Spurs by one goal.

Yeah I keep changing my mind on our chances every five minutes, one minute I'm thinking we'll breeze through the next I'm thinking they're a different team altogether with those two back in the first eleven.

I think you sum it up best though with "I'm hopeful because we are solid in every area, but we will need to be at 100% in every area as well. Spurs by one goal".

I'll take a win in any way what so ever this afternoon.

"When the new year began, Liverpool were second and seven points clear of Tottenham in fifth."

That's a decent quote eh. Mind, this is going to be tough. Having said that, this is also our last away game against any of the top six. We will have two games left at home to le arse and manure.

Although they're nowhere near the top 6 we still have Burnley away and they've been great at home this season. Can't see that being a walking the park and hull away last game could be tricky with there improvement under the new boss, suppose that might depend on what's left to play for by that stage of the season though.

Spot on mate, to coin the ye olde phrase; "there are on gimmies in the top flight". Still, if you offered me a toss up between the chavs away or hull I'm pretty sure which one I would feel more comfy aboot. Hull did beat the dippers at home last week though so there's that >.<

I watched the Hull game today and 2-0 really flatters Arsenal. Hull seem to be playing a good attacking style now, whipping plenty of crosses into the box, they just lack a bit of extra quality up top and in the wide area's. They've really impressed me in recent weeks.

Chelsea have Burnley away this weekend we'll see how they get on. Will be a decent marker.
