One nil 1st half, could bleat about not having a def pen and tripping over yourself and earning one,but truth is for 30mins we havent been at the races.YET,
2nd half we will be better
COYS

And Mane should get a clear 2nd yellow.

Remind me who the home team is? Liverpool should be down to 9 and have conceded a pen, yet somehow it's Spurs who gave the pen away with Liverpool keeping all 11 on the pitch. Not happy. If refs want respect they need to do MUCH better.

Dont disagree the ref has had a shocker so far,if there was a foul just outside the area as well.
Anyway we need to step up and find the energy that has been missing, kane and janssen to score!!!Think the only positive sub we can make is to try winks, not sure the pace of this game if its worth giving Son his 1st run out?

Not to mention for the 2nd game out of the 1st 3 we've had our 1st half interrupted by injury.

I thought it was a pen, TBH. Wasn't the most obvious pen I've seen but the way they game had ben going somebody was going to get one son and it happened to be us. somebody needs to take charge up front.

@Stateside Nate , i'm not so surprised the ref gave that pen tbh, but if he's going to give that 1 he HAS to give the 1 on Janssen, and if he gives the 1 on Janssen then he has to send Matip off. It's basic consistency. In fact, it's not even that as the Matip foul even looked more of a pen! Factor in the Mane foul on a yellow and the fact we're the home team and its not about consistency, it's favouritism.

Over the years I've developed a passionate dislike for our refs. All fans bemoan decisions, but Spurs have consistently gotten the worst of the lot, particularly against the so-called 'big' teams.

I'd replace the lot of our referees. Give the job to Johnny 5 instead

(I'm being facetious, of course, but facetious with a grain of truth)

COME ON YOU FUCKNG SPURS.

I WILL LITERALLY SULK ALL DAY IF WE LOOSE TO THESE CUNTS.

Where has the intensity gone from our play. Where is the spark? Are we that reliant on Mousa to create somthing? If so then we need to get our Wallets out and make sure when he isn't about or we need a plan B we have one.

There's no where near enough creativity in this side I'm watching. There is also nowhere near enough fight and workrate. When does it get back off of its smmer break?

To be frank, the refs have been shocking since the start of last season and already this season there've been awful decisions every week in several games. And the refs want respect?

They clearly need help. People say we can't have video tech and appeals as it slows the game down - did anyone watch the Hockey at the Olympics? Worked well enough there and the game was super-quick.

1-1 I'll take that, especially when the ref was in red today

Basically, you can look at this 2 ways - either you compare the fixtures to last season, in which case we are bang on par, or you look at it by the calendar month, in which case we are doing eve. better than last season!

Either way is good news!

This time last year we'd lost 1 and were yet to get our 1st win l, throwing away that shocking 2 nil lead at home to Stoke was particularly galling but we also threw away a lead at Leicester iirc

This year we're now unbeaten and have gotten that 1st win under our belts, but we've also conceded fewer goals, scored in every game so far (although we've scored less) and, perhaps most encouraging, we've not thrown away any leads yet, instead coming back twice to take a point whilst probably not yet at our best.

Point gained in my view, our flair three of eriksen, dele and kane havent clicked yet.Plus side is Vorm was excellent, wanyama looks a bargain lets just stop thinking about the passes and make them instinctively like last season.
Can see we need some flair on the bench,or give winks/onomah more game time to show their worth,if we wanted to win eriksen could have come off much earlier than 93rd minute.
But signs are as last year we`ll fight til the end of matches.

Just on my back from the game....general chat is that no-one is too disappointed to come back from a goal down against a decent team. Ref was very poor and we look like we need a couple more games to really be match fit and for everything to click into place. A draw against Liverpool and Everton away might be good results come the end of the season....

Good support today as well

Despite the ref, who was a cunt, we did OK. How the fuck did Mane stay on the pitch? I ran out of fingers adding up the incidents he should have got a second yellow for. Those nasty dippers could not score against us, their goal came from a bit of misfortune and nothing could be done to prevent it. I expect on the other place Lamella and Vorm will be taking flak for it but Erik was just unlucky, and goalkeepers don't save many penalties, it happens. Also the penalty(s?) we should have got we didn't because the ref was a cunt. Vorm was the dog's doodahs in the first half, either he is not as shite as the numpties says or Hugo's mind has been transferred into his body.

The dippers put 4 past the scum, but could not break us down, we have prevented a rival for top 4 from getting 3 points up on us so that's OK I reckon. I might have a lurk later and see what they are saying in the other place, I might not bother because I already know innit?

I'm not exactly over the moon with the way we played but there's plenty of room for improvement. Haven't seen the majority of the contentious decisions so I can't comment on how fair the result was. Liverpool certainly seemed to have the better of the game and be more positive, but defensively I thought we were solid enough against a pacy attack and Vorm was a steady pair of hands. I'm hoping Dembele coming back will make a massive difference and Dier, Alli and Kane can find their form of last year. All in all it could be a lot worse. COYS

Dippers were always going to respond to that loss to Burnley, and we were very poor for long stretches of the game, so I'm not too worried about the result. Ref was a twat, but what else is new? We haven't played particularly well this season, and still have 5 from 9, confident we'll get clicking soon. I do think we need a little more pace in the squad, maybe we'll seal the deal with this Nkoudou fellow...

Absolute shocking performance by the ref.

Slow start by us but we found our stride in the last half hour, similar to the Everto game.

Vorm had a great game which I am pleased about.

Also good performances by Wanyama again who seems a better passer then I imagined.

Rose was lively and Alderweireld solid with some game changing tackles.

I echo a lot of the sentiments already said on here tbh. It's a point gained when you consider the saves vorm made and the spell of dominance Liverpool had. i can't but feel annoyed that we didn't come out of the block too well, I felt we we're competitive for the first ten minutes havin ghte better oportunities bar the one on one they had then around the 10 min mark Liverpool woke and we didn't look up for it then..... It's early days at the moment so not gonna go mad about it but we need to up the tempo at times, we're taking a second or two to think about who is where and what pass to play wherea s last season we just knew who to play in and when to do it. Dembele seems to be missed bug time. I'm sure the fluidity in our game will come with a few mroe games under our belt. If we can be in a strong position (4-6) after 10 games I'd see that as a good start and place to push on from.

I think this is especially true when it comes to playing out of the back. Granted Liverpool under Klopp put teams under a lot of pressure, just as we do, but we looked a little indecisive in our own half as well as theirs. especially on Jan's pass to Eriksen that resulted in the Vorm save off Coutinho early on. We never looked like falling apart, but out of sync as you say. Onwards and upwards. Wouldn't mind seeing a few of the boys pick up "injuries" just before the international break...

Not enough intensity..... that was our game and i hope we can get it back because with more of the ball and more pressure we have the ability to hurt teams

A few times very deep he took players on,looked risky but everytime he came out strolling with the ball, guess I just have to learn to trust his ability,he did have my heart in my mouth a couple of times. He looks solid and isnt one dimensional,by that I mean he will have a poke from 25/30yds sometimes, you have to have a try, cant let the oppo know you are always going to go side to side, its my biggest complaint about dembele, sometimes when approaching the area he turns down a shooting opportunity, which makes him predictable.
Pleased to see Vorm quieten the doubters.

A few people may have overlooked the Walker substitution which affected our overall game plan. we'll be fine with a few more matches under our belt. We've had a harder start than most others and Mousa coming back to pull the strings will help as well. Dier/Wanyama is still a work in progress and out of the two Dier looks a little off the pace.

Well that's a kettle of worms and no mistake governor. Obviously he has gobbed in Pochetino's face, waved his todger at the tea lady and called the Poch's mum a slag, there can be no other reason, especially as it seems to have been known that Kyle was a bit iffy.

There is no smoke without kippers!
