It's almost the same as the Champions League, it's got Europe and League in the title!

A nice draw for us, France, Holland and Slovenia the furthest trip (nice place Slovenia).

There were some very far flung nasty places we could have got, so Group G looks pretty good.

No Away fans allowed though at present (I think) which is shame for those of us that like the European adventures, but no so much the Day 2 PCR testing on the return.

Why does our creative players have to drop sooooooo deep to receive the ball...

I've watched H do it, N'Fatbele do it and I am now watching Dele do it...

If they're dropping that deep there ineffective. They're playing balls the CB's or holding midfielders should be doing...

I understand they can't be static and movement is important to pull the opposition out of shape... but it does not have to be backwards all the time...

I don't know enough about modern footy to know if it's a tactic or if there is a reason for it. If the opposition is doing something to make us do it or whatever...

I'd be screaming at them to fuck off away from me as a CB or a DM, just so that I had someone other than Harry to fucking pass to.

Sideways, backwards, sideways backwards, longball, loose it, start defending...

I know this particular fixture was looked at as possibly the toughest one so in one respect, a point away isn't as bad as it seems, but it was still another turgid performance of sideways and backwards.

I haven't watched a game this season but based on comments and on other match threads would I be right in saying nothing has changed?

I genuinely think it's worse mate... there's there's streak of apathy I've never seen in a football side...

It's 100% not a team. It all needs dismantling IMO and rebuilding from the ground up.

Japhet, Rodon, Gill, Skip, Hoijberg and all the kids are the ones who can save this club. The majority can fuck off now.

The signing of Ken Kane, Harry Kane's identical shit footballing twin brother has not improved the squad. He just moves about a bit and tries to not really get involved unless he absolutely has to. Almost like he doesn't want to be here and is doing everything he can to not get injured to secure a move away from this crumbling club once the season is over.

Lucas has openly said he want to go back home to Brazil. Good on him.

N'Fatbele is..... fat and lazy and has a double shit barnet.

Son has just signed a new deal... that'll bite him in the ass...

Dele... spending 90% of his time receiving a 3 yard ball from the CB... seriously, why can't the CB move 3 yards further with the ball and use the ATTACKING midfielder, in the ATTACKING 3rd of the pitch, to move about a bit and offer a pass... But what the fuck do I know.

All the sideways and backwards passing of last season is still there without Ken Kanes awesome brother Harry or the Asian sensation to drag us out of the shit.

We're playing with 2 defensive midfielders and crying out for more creativity...?

We cant cross our fingers let alone the ball and all the usual suspects are doing exactly what they were 2 years ago.

And as for who that poor cunt in our goal was, when he brought his ticket for the game he didn't know he'd have to bring his boots and gloves and play in nets... genuinely, even now, I dont know his name...

Am I being harsh, does it really matter, am I juts a negative cunt...? Probably.

What i can't get my head around, is how they get on to a football pitch and continuously look like they've never played with each other before. Doesn't really matter what combination of players we play, there's very little in terms of any consistent link up play between 2 or 3 players, apart from Sonny and Kane at times, and this has been going on for close on 3 years.

The fact that the majority of our goals are scored by either errors by our opponents or by individual moments of magic says it all. We rarely score goals where 3 or 4 players link up with quick passes and movement. I've got very little interest in watching this lot at the moment, they get paid stupid amounts of money, the least they can do is move around a bit and try and pass the ball further than 5 yards and not just backwards and sideways. There's so little ambition to create, it's just so boring and safe all the fucking time.

I agree with everybody, we looked pretty shabby against Les Frenchies, both our goals were lucky as fuck. Will Doherty be given an assist tick on his report for his very poxy cross for the second goal? Rennes are a very good team and we should be chuffed with earning a point at their house, but alas I am not chuffed, I suppose I might be able to see a microscopic glimmer of light, Gil might be good, Emerson will be much better when he stops playacting, N'fatbelly played OK and if he can be fucked might be useful if Nuno can ever get our players working together as a team.

I am honestly not fucked about this season. As long as we don't get relegated and Nuno builds a team that will thrill and entertain us next season. At the moment it's the same old shit from the same old not giving a fuck players.

I suppose it's (yet) another season of "transition" really. Santa won't be sacked unless we're in real danger of relegation, so we've potentially got to put up with a whole season not far removed from this last week unless he can rediscover his early christmas magic he had with Wolves.

And with Ken up front as well, it's going to be long road ahead.

Great Post, and unfortunately all true. We're fucked for the foreseeable. Kane is at half mast, and if I'm honest, if it's deliberate then he'll always be a club legend but I'm losing a little bit of respect for him every day. Dele should've been sold 12 months back. I don't see what he offers anymore. Lethargic and predictable, like the team itself.
This has gone from the cunt and his negative cynical tactics with below par players to Nuno....and his non existing attacking tactics, apart from the old "give it to lucas and let him try and beat everybody " tactic.
I'm losing faith...and that's not me. Every player should've been fined a weeks wages and given it to some charity for their efforts against Palace. They don't give a fuck. Get rid of the whole fucking lot of them. They don't deserve to wear the shirt....

It's weird in a way though because two of the players you'd most likely have suspected to have not given a fuck in Dier and Sanchez have been two of the main standouts so far.

Bergwijn to an extent as well.

Doherty seems to have gone backwards even more since last season.

Wolverhampton Wanderers scaled the heights under Nuno, but a malaise which set in when football went behind closed doors, looked to have engulfed fans, players and perhaps most worryingly of all, the coach himself.

What was once a vibrant counter-attacking team, became lethargic in possession, unusually poor defensively and seemingly without a plan outside of ‘pass to Adama Traore and hope’”

The article makes for some grim reading as well. It almost makes you wonder if some of the more “out there” rumours about Nuno only getting the job because he would essentially be a “Levy yes man” weren’t that wide of the mark.

.. and that will be a long way backwards, because he was half-way to wherever backwards is last year, so now he has arrived at his destination.

I still think it is too soon to blame the manager. Even if he fucked the formation up and suggested the poxiest tactics known to fooball managerkind, these blokes are top professionals, highly paid, many of them current or ex-internationals and they should be willing to bust a gut and able to play even if I was the fucking manager. We could have the best manager in the World but if the players are not fucked and will earn £100k-£200k a week regardless of how they play and even if they play at all, well, even Ted Lasso couldn't do anything with them.

If I was the gaffer I would drop Doherty, Dier, Winks, N'Dombele, Bergwijn, Davies, even Sanchez and Dier because being slightly better than shite so far this season is not good enough, and 'oh dear this will be unpopular' - Harry fucking Kane. Those blokes would not get a game and I would replace them all with the new blokes and academy players. But of course I know fuck-all about football and getting relegated would be a kick in the nuts.

The trouble with that scenario is that we are so bad I can see us being comfortably in the bottom half of the table. Will we be able to compete with Norwich... Palace who I thought might be competing with Norwich pulled our fucking pants down... even before the sending off...

Chelsea are going to expose exactly how shit we are.. Lukau will have a fucking field day and those rent boy cunts will quite rightly lord the absolute fuck out of it.

North London is an absolute fucking shambles right now and 50% of it points to one man and his decisions to not invest in a squad refresh and instead to build a hotel and supermarket.

Our window of opportunity was this summer... And we failed to install a manager and a squad that would compliment what our existing gems wanted and needed in order to progress and compete. Quite rightly, they now want out.

I know I am being massively negative and I am trying to pick out the sweetcorn from the platter of shit we are being served... but I can't see anything that shows me there is any promise in this side. Even the cherry on the shite in Ken Kane's brother performing every week is no longer available.

Happy to hear a more positive point of view if anyone can offer one up.

Won't get pelters from me mate...

I could not agree more, Nuno looks like he is playing with one arm and leg tied behind his back and he effectively is... he has huge injuries, an unsettled squad and is operating in a new system with DOF's, Head coaches and Supreme Leaders who all want to have an influence on what he is expected to output on match days.

Managing this Spirs side will not define Nuno's managerial career. He will be a good manager and probably much better for having to operate in an environment like he is doing now.

I simply cannot see a way for him to be successful in this role. I can't see where the bar is set. I can't see what the expectations are other than the inevitable goal of CL qualification which on current performances is a absolute million miles away.

Good luck to Nuno because he is on a hiding to nothing in this role.

As for the players, fuck them all (aside from the handful of exceptions I previously mentioned) dead.

Especially as he was 5th choice...and in terms of dropping Harry ? I'd applaude it. I don't care what your name is...if you can't be arsed...then fuck off and play in the reserves.

If that is the case then I agree, however it's too soon to judge in my view, he often looks lethargic and can't get into games and yet as recently as last season was top goal scorer and top assists. Need to be realistic I think, there's a chance he's pretty knackered, we'll see.

Yeah OK, he's well known for being a slow starter so I suppose we should give him a pass - but it's hard when watching Spurs is still such a fucking chore. I think I have only really enjoyed one half of one game this season, the 2nd half against City, probably, i can't really be arsed engaging my memory function so I might be totally wr..... less correct than usual.

Apparently the game against Rennes will not be rescheduled as both clubs were unable to find a suitable date before the December 31st deadline.

Part of the statement is this - “The match can no longer be played and the matter will, be referred to the Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Body for a decision.”

Apparently the CEBD could decide Rennes haven't been flexible about rearranging the fixture and could extend the deadline beyond the 31st, but it's unlikely that will happen. They've awarded 3-0 victories against teams who couldn't field a full side due to Covid already, and those decisions have been upheld by the Court of Arbitration.

While I certainly want us to compete and win everything we're entered into, I can't really feel that disappointed that we're almost certainly going to exit the ECL as I think the domestic side of things needs to take priority at the moment.

On our performances in that comp.... a 0-3 loss against them may prove to be our best result yet...!

Only a treble available to us now.
