When you look at the quality that PSG have available and the money they have to spend, it certainly becomes a case of "I don't need this shit" I think.
I suppose our only hope in this regard is the relative difference in his mind between the weight of "I don't need this shit" and "I don't need that shit".

Ah rumours my arse....

If Conte stays, great. If he goes, then fuck off. And that goes for anyone else too...except in the situation where Levy, Royal, Winks, Sanchez, Dier, and Gollini leave and Poch comes back. You know what happens then ?
My alarm clock goes off.

After the worst start in quite a while and losing to promoted Manza this weekend, Allegri just got the dreaded vote of confidence from the chairman at Juventus. I wouldn't be shocked to see them come calling for Tony soon...

Intruiging. If they did, you have to wonder if the "romance", if you will, of going back would outweight the project he's currently on with us. His contract is up at the end of the season for one thing.

Personally I don't think there is much chance he'd leave at this point, but no doubt there will be a lot of the usual stories about it in the near future.

He will manage Juve one day sooner or later. I think end of this season or next depending on backing from Levy and results

January could be key to whether or not he stays or goes by the looks of it.

Levy's logic will be that he'd rather pay Conte more to work with what he's got than actually investing in more players to build a competitive squad.

I honestly don't see how Tony and Levy can coexist in the same club for much longer.

It might not be just down to the Dark Lord if this has any weight. You can almost hear the conversations in the boardroom. "What, he wants more money ?".

The Tottenham Hotspur hierarchy are not unanimous in their backing of Antonio Conte as contract talks continue, 90min understands.

Conte's current deal expires at the end of the season, though Spurs do retain a one-year extension clause that can be activated at any point.

Nevertheless, the club would prefer to re-negotiate a long-term contract with the Italian in order for him to reaffirm his commitment to the club.

Talks were set to take place during the World Cup break, but the two parties are yet to come to an agreement on fresh terms.

Sources have told 90min that some within the Tottenham hierarchy would prefer to go in another direction. They are wary that there is a possibility of handing Conte a huge deal but not delivering a top-four finish or a trophy this term, while he could still choose to walk away from the job even if they achieved their season goals.

ENIC out, Levy out, Conte out - someone else in. Yeah, I don't know who would replace Old Joe and Danny, and I'd probably be really pissed off when some Qatari/Saudi torture corporation took over so I'd probably better shut the fuck up. Of course I want the Poch back, but without the financial backing needed and him being made the proper manager, not just a coach it would be the same old same old. Football is fucked, without a revolution in ownership rules, a bit like wot ze Gemans have, us fans will be fucked up the tradesman's entrance, the only choice will be with lube or without.

I stopped putting money in Levys pockets years ago, but I would be happy to pay a membership fee for part-ownership of the club (it ain't, not, never, ever a club these days). I'm sure many, many folks would be happy to stump up some wonga in return for shares and voting rights? Season ticket holders who have for decades been financing the money-machine should own a big chunk of the club, members a smaller chunk and rich cunts, tyrants, corporations - no chunk at all. When I achieve this goal, I will bring about world peace, stop racism and homphobia, equally share the wealth amongst all the people in the world, provide top quality health care to all, get rid of that fucking mental Brexit and ban fucking jazz music - vote for me and the Real Magic Unicorn Party

It’s a good job Daily Hotspur and 90mins are unreliable sources. It the same shit that spouted every transfer window, with complete disregard to player numbers, home grown co-efficiency etc. We will not see many signings until we sell as we have too many players. So hopefully, we can shift some players.

Conte was backed last Jan and in the summer, so let’s see what happens.

They're not sources so much as aggregators: taking info sites that are more reliable (and are often behind paywalls)--the Athletic in particular. Doesn't mean they're right, but personally I've seen Conte as a strange bedfellow with Levy ever since he signed on. We'll see.

Levy has proved that you don't need to win anything to be 'successful' you just need to finish in the top 4 and do OK in the Champions League. Add some Rugby, Lady Gaga, Boxing, NFL into a world class stadium and as many sponsorships that you can stick a logo on and suddenly your investment is worth about 400x what it was a few years ago. The man is a genius businessman and a fake football man.

i think it's a great shame that he can charm the likes of Conte and Pochettino, they deserve so much better than being a pawn in this man's empire. He should judge himself by different criteria.

"Antonio Conte insisted Tottenham’s top-four finish last season was a miracle and called for realism about expectations as fans turned on the team and the owner, Daniel Levy ..... The manager claimed he was happy with Spurs’ performance despite his team mustering only two shots on target"

How the fuck can he say he was happy with the Spurs performance? He must have very low standards if he was happy with that.

'Realism?' - oh fuck off Conte please. Does he really think it is unrealistic to expect to not get beaten by fucking Aston Villa at the Lane? Is it unrealistic to expect to beat Brentford? Is it unrealistic to expect more than 2 wins from 7 fucking PL games? Is it unrealistic to expect a League Cup win over Forest? I want to support this bloke but I can't. He is always blaming his players and banging on about how he needs world class footy blokes - anyone can build a winning team with elite players, a good manager would be winning stuff with the players he has got, who by the fucking way Mr Conte, are mostly top quality players.

100%.
Starting to sound a bit like JM too. Points fingers at everyone and everything else but never looks in the mirror.
Think the players are done with him too. Constant instruction of waving arms with minimal trust in players is now taking its toll.
Really wanted Antonio to succeed and still do but he's shown fuck all to me to suggest he can turn it around.
Thanks but no thanks....
If he just got Poch and gave him even close to the support he's given Conte we'd be in a much better state than we are now.
The whole club would be lifted. The players would prove to themselves that they can win games by playing on the front foot by attacking from the first whistle with a manager that encourages it. What's there to even think about ??? Go get him.

Possibly the first public confirmation that he'll leave if he's not backed.

And that leads me into my ultimate point...

As of right fucking now... absolutely nothing has changed at all, apart from the person organising the side.

Do we all think Levy has had an epiphany and will blow off the dust and cobwebs from his wallet and start shelling out for world class players this winter and in the summer...?

Do we actually think Patrici has the last say on football...? Did we actually think he has the influence necessary to convince Levy to make the right choices...? He didn't in the summer when Conte was available. Its only now our form is only marginally better than Norwich, that he has been able to make the deranged pipsqueek listen to what he has been telling him for 6+ months.

Sorry lads, the rot (as you all fucking know) runs so much deeper with that evil little cunt at the heart of it. Conte is glitter in the same vein that "that cunt" was and we, Spurs, are the steaming pile of shit that it's wrapped around.

Unless Conte chucks these cunts under the bus when they churn out their insipid performances and calls all the board level horse shit he is fed, then we're heading for another 9-18 months of shite, excuses, 2nd and 3rd teir football and potentially skirting round the bottom of the table yet further still tarnishing our reputation in World football...

I'm a negative cunt... yes... but its based on the experience I have amassed over 30 years of enduring the same tired shit (notable exceptions from Redknap through Poch excluded).
Shit don't change...
Jose 2.0

Will blow up in 12-18 months after Levy doesn't let him buy anyone he wants and we haven't won anything.

Nothing changes until ENIC and Levy are out.
👆 Nailed it.....

This is the big thing for me. Conte in every interview is basically saying his team is shit and needs major backing to be better. Essentially telling all these players they are due for the bench if he gets his way (he won't he's been Levied) because they are mid table quality. No one wants to be hearing that bollocks. It's not exactly a motivator!

Could we use improvement? Well of course, but you need to be better in front of the media about it.

The more I listen Conte the more I realise he's bought his way to most trophies, that's the way he rolls, and that simply isn't happening here.

Not exactly true but I take your point, most managers want world class players because it makes them look better managers. Don Tony made some average players better - who was Chelsea's right back revelation, can't remeber now.... anyway it ain't happening with Royal, nor seemingly with Sessegnon either.

Not wild about things at the club right now, but definitely sparing a thought for the manager: With Vialli's passing this weekend, Tony has lost three of his apparently closest friends since October. We all know about Ventrone obviously, but he was good pals with Sinisa Mihajlovic, who died right before Christmas, as well.

I hope/imagine that we will go at them from the off, there will be no other way than to harry and press them, leaving them with no time on the ball and I'd like to say a few naughty tackles on the likes of Saka, Martinelli, Nketiah and others. If Tony tries to sit back and soak up pressure I expect Dier et al to get torn to shreds by pace and quick passing.

We have to show these cunts the same fight, spirit and noise that they got at the end of last season, one of my best ever nights at the Lane. If we don't I expect Don Tony to try and use it as a stick to beat Levy with, however Tony and the players will need to carry the burden as well, after all they showed what they are capable of at the end of last season. So do not let us down, any of you and we will provide the noise and atmosphere to help beat these show ponies and their hysterical little spoilt manager. What a fucking joke he is. I hope we can give him another hissy fit on Sunday.

COYS - 5 more sleeps.

I hated Conte when he was at Chelsea, and to be honest not much has changed: he's still whining, and he's making the team play ugly, boring football. I really ought to be Conte out. But I just can't face another fresh start with a period of unbridled optimism followed by abject failure. So he can stay.

At least until Sunday afternoon...
