Place to discuss the 2024 pre-season matches.

Kicking off today against the barcodes. Strong line-up for the first half, expect to see some youngsters in at halftime.

I suppose we've got it "lucky" in a way as we're only playing the one match out there and Newcastle apparently have another one in a week. Good lineup though so hopefully they're not too knackered after the flights.

I like seeing Deki through the middle, looks like he can play the number 9 role.

He is strong, has good feet and can strike a ball.

It’s been a competitive opening half hour. Good goal by Maddison, maybe a slight hand ball.

Our press has been really, really good. Showing our fitness levels

I'm not watching it as I don't have Spurs Play but some of the halftime subs are good. Ashley Philips was voted Plymouth's young player of the season for this term and I think he's got a lot of potential.

Hopefully Mikey Moore and Jamie Donley can get some minutes as well. Couple of kids who could certainly save us a few quid in transfers.

Lucas Bergvall is joining for next season as well who looks very good. He's only 18 and is apparently expected to go straight in to the first team.

We've got a lot of very talented kids in the academy and the U21's but we still need a manager willing to give some of them a chance I suppose and I hope Ange can do that. I know they need to be developed properly of course but when you see how good someone like Mikey Moore is, you do wonder if it's worth taking a chance and throwing him in at the deep end.

Didn't see it as at work... But from the stats it didn't look close...

Was it actually competitive... I'll have to find a recap/replay

Here you go - the official Spurs video was only 3 minutes and also blocked from being embedded.

Ange said a lot of the squad were straight back on the plane home after the match as well which is crazy.

If anyone wants to see the football it starts on about 6 mins... Looked like a walk about.

Hearts 150th anniversary is this year and we’ve agreed to play them at Tynecastle in Edinburgh in July. Source, a former Hearts player.

Apparently a huge crowd for the Newcastle game, but played at about 40% after the first 30 or so minutes.

I couldn't justify it personally. Absurd ticket prices for something with less meaning than a pre-season friendly. However, hopefully a few kids attending are now Spurs for life. Poor kids though - its a blessing and a curse. Mainly a curse!

I like the design of the new kit, but £85 is fucking extortionate. That’s across the board for all clubs, but I assume there is a demand for these at that price, so no chance for a change.

Maybe this football regulator needs to look at capping this as well as ticket prices.

Just don't buy hem pal, but a vintage one for half the price.

Seems like an impressive score line yet I did not watch.

As for watching, I did subscribe to SpursPlay for the 2022-23 season but basically found it to be a waste of money. Took a long time for the club to post / updoad highlights etc.
Pre-season matches aside, I could see all the extended highlights of games within an hour or so on YouTube which were posted sooner than on SpursPlay.

Anyone have an alternate or more positive experience with SpursPlay to convince me otherwise?

Most people I know who have subscribed feel the same

Waste of money
