Barcodes look frighteningly good against Villa. PL teams are going to beat the shit out of each other this season. There are more good teams in the division this year than any time in my memory.

While I'm trying to avoid the Kane stuff now, I did laugh at this picture doing the rounds of him running over to the ref to complain about a penalty decision and realising he doesn't speak German ..

Obviously it's very early days, and they've had a couple of tough fixtures, but Everton look doomed already.

They look absolutely shocking...
The thing is, they already have the manager you'd back to get them solidified and to hang on in the division. So who would they turn to to get things turned around? They've been circling the drain for a while now. And the pressure is really on, because they have a mountain of debt and a new stadium in the works.

They need fo overpay for some real quality...

Getting relegated would be a massive cluster of fucks for them...

Bit like the rent boys at the Olympic stadium... If they'd have gone down they'd have gone bust...

The only thing they can cling on to is Sheffield utd, Luton and Wolves are worse...and simply because of that and Dyche I think they'll be ok, but only just.

Watching Brighton ripping the Saudi barcodes apart, the final might be 9-9 when we play them.

Thanks to a brilliant chairman in my view.
Yeah, they have a plan on and off the pitch and they stick to it. It will be Interesting to see how they cope with European football on Thursdays.

Not a clue who that is...

Levy is a cunt...
Ah the old go to default statement when you need to break an awkward silence.
Didn’t go down very well at that funeral though. It was packed and i was near the back plus the echo was ridiculous.

In this divided age we have to turn to things we can all agree upon.

Guglielmo Vicario

After some premature concerns among a few fans following his debut at Brentford, when he was still getting to know a very different defence in front of him, Vicario has made an assured start to life at Spurs. He's the north London club's first new number one between the sticks in 11 years and he's kept clean sheets in two of his first four matches. He's made a few spectacular saves, was especially impressive against Manchester United, and his ability and composure with his feet is improving rapidly. A good start. 8

Fraser Forster

Just the one appearance so far for Spurs this season in the Carabao Cup exit. He couldn't do much about Van de Ven's own goal but produced a fine one-handed save to keep out Muniz's header and also denied the striker at his near post, before making a good save late on to stop Wilson from scoring a winner. He couldn't get anywhere near any of Fulham's penalties though as Spurs crashed out of the cup. 5

Pedro Porro

The Spaniard has been one of the surprises perhaps of the season so far. Most expected Emerson to be Postecoglou's first choice right-back but Porro got his chance against United and grabbed it with both hands. There has been the odd defensive wobble but on the whole he's dealt really well with what's been thrown at him and going forward he's been a real threat. That assist for Son at Burnley was a world class pass that would have got far more coverage had it come from a top midfielder. 7.5

Emerson Royal

Scored in the opening match at Brentford with a fine low drive but his only other start came at Fulham in the cup. He had some struggles defensively in both games though and his goal bumps up his mark slightly. 5.5

Cristian Romero

The Argentine has met the challenge of being named a vice-captain by Postecoglou and then some. The extra responsibility has been a gamechanger for a player who could be reckless at times in the past. This season in the Premier League Romero hasn't even committed a single foul so far, let alone pick up a card. He's also scored two great goals, ones a booming header despite having just suffered a blow to his head and then that curling rocket in off the left-hand post at a crucial time at Burnley. The World Cup winner has become the young leader Postecoglou wanted. 9

Micky van de Ven

There's been the odd little slip and an unfortunate habit of getting the last touch on shots at Spurs' goal, resulting in one own goal and a couple of others that almost were, but on the whole the 22-year-old has made a huge impression at the club and fitted in seamlessly to the pace and physicality of the Premier League. Like Romero, he hasn't committed a single foul. The Dutchman has got pace, ability on the ball and a real desire to improve that has made him so far the perfect partner to the Argentine. Called up to the Netherland squad for the first time this week, he has played more minutes than any other Tottenham player so far. 8.5

Davinson Sanchez

The Colombian has now departed to Galatasaray in a £12.8m deal but he played well when he was thrown in for Romero early on at Brentford. Had a tough first half in the cup at Fulham before improving in the second half but his night ended with that saved penalty in the shoot-out which he was brave enough to step up and take but unfortunately ended up being his final action as a Spurs player. 5.5

Destiny Udogie

A remarkable introduction to Premier League life for a 20-year-old from a very different league. Udogie has been superb, weighing in with a couple of assists as a real menace to opposition defences but he's also dealt with everything thrown at him in defence with aplomb. Strong, skilful and with a turn of pace, the Italian been one of the best full-backs in the league so far. 9.5

Ben Davies

Reduced to a supporting role due to the performances of Udogie, his only start came as captain in the cup match at Fulham. He will get game time this season, maybe in central defence with Sanchez's exit, but the Welshman is mainly going to be an experienced back-up more often than not unless there's a few injuries. Was involved in Spurs' second goal against Manchester United, albeit with the slightest of touches that forced Martinez into the own goal. 5.5

Yves Bissouma

Postecoglou has unlocked the true Bissouma and the 27-year-old has been excellent so far this campaign, dominating the ball in the midfield. His link-up play with Maddison is growing and while there's the odd little loose pass or finding himself getting stuck out of position up the pitch, he's been a crucial cog in the centre of the new Spurs machine. Was man of the match against United and it feels like as long as he can steer clear of injuries, he's found his mentor in Postecoglou. 8.5

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg

Reduced to a supporting role, both on and off the pitch, the Dane has apparently still shown a good attitude behind the scenes and he's contributed with experienced displays whenever he's come off the bench in the Premier League. However, he struggled at Fulham in the cup, especially in the first half, and he should have scored. 6

James Maddison

The signing of the summer in the Premier League and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. £40m is a steal for a midfielder who now looks like a £100m-plus player. Maddison has been a breath of fresh air for Spurs with his attitude, leadership and his ability. He is able to pick out any pass, dribble past his man with ease and also steal into the box to score himself. He's got two goals - both terrific ones - and two assists in his four Premier League games so far and he's bought completely into the Postecoglou way and Tottenham life. He could have had a 10 in these ratings but that would leave him nowhere to go and we feel he can still get even better. 9.5

Pape Matar Sarr

A really bright start to the season with Postecoglou selecting him regularly in the line-up and the 20-year-old responded with that rasping finish against Manchester United and then that delightful assist for Maddison at Bournemouth. Looks a really bright talent and he can play anywhere across the Tottenham midfield. 8

Oliver Skipp

A tough start to the season for Spurs' other young midfielder after his starring role at Barcelona to end pre-season. Started against Brentford and did well enough but struggled at Fulham in the cup. Has found himself behind the more attacking Sarr in the pecking order but will get minutes as the season goes on and when the tactics require him. 5

Giovani Lo Celso

It's difficult to judge Lo Celso really as he's only had one brief substitute appearance in the Premier League and only lasted 45 minutes at Fulham before a quad injury forced him off. Hasn't really been able to make his mark yet. Is likely to be the Maddison rotation option in order to rest the England international at times. N/A

Dejan Kulusevski

Started every Premier League game so far but hasn't quite hit his stride yet. There have been plenty of promising moments but other than the goal at Bournemouth with a neat finish, Kulusevski hasn't been the threat in the final third that he can be. The Swede will get better though under Postecoglou and the competition from Brennan Johnson will also push him. 6.5

Son Heung-min

Saturday brought that sublime hat-trick and proof that he can play through the centre extremely effectively in the Postecoglou system. Son had previously been putting in some experienced displays and contributing, earning praise from the boss, without hitting the net. Much of his impact has also been off the pitch as the club's new captain and impressing everyone with his effort in taking on the role. What's most exciting about Son's displays this season is that he's got the ability to be even better and playing centrally in this system might just put him in with a shout of another Golden Boot. 8

Manor Solomon

A really bright first Premier League start for Spurs at Burnley with two assists for Son after struggled to make an impact in the match at Fulham. That display on Saturday will give him a major lift and you feel there's more to come from the Israel international if he can find consistency in his end product. 6.5

Ivan Perisic

The Croatian has been another who has brought his experience to the pitch late in matches from the bench and contributed an assist at Fulham for Richarlison's goal and also unofficially one that led to the second goal against United. Made a difference at Bournemouth as well. Perisic is going to be a useful option as a winger for Postecoglou in the coming months. 6.5

Dane Scarlett

Just the 45 minutes against Fulham in the cup and worked hard but it's not really enough of a sample size to judge him on. Named in the England U21 squad this week, Scarlett has now headed off to Ipswich on loan. N/A

Richarlison

Other than the goal at Fulham, by his own expectations and others', it just hasn't quite worked out for Richarlison yet this season and now Brazil's number nine has had to watch Son excel in the central role. Some of his hold-up play has been good but the £60m attacker will know he can play much better and hopefully will do. 5

Ange Postecoglou

The impact Postecoglou has had in such a short time at a club that was broken is remarkable. The cup exit was disappointing and the decision to make so many changes annoyed plenty of fans, and that's why he's not getting top marks just yet, but what the Australian has done behind the scenes to transform Tottenham is something special.

He's completely changed the style of football and the way the players trained with a brand new coaching staff unknown to him at first as well. He's altered the way the club thinks from inside out and he's also had to drive the recruitment this summer without the help of a director of football and then gel a very different starting XI together.

The most exciting thing is that this is only the beginning and yet Spurs are unbeaten in the Premier League, second in the early table with three wins from four games - three of those matches away from home. The new head coach's methods are only going to get more deeply imprinted on the players and the club.

The fans are loving the football, finally enjoying watching matches again and the Australian has them singing his name already. Tottenham have made some terrific signings in recent months but none have been as important as Ange Postecoglou. 9

For both, but especially him, especially with the high line we play. Also really shows that the midfield players are doing a great job of screening them.

Vice captain seems to be wising Romero up a bit which has been brilliant. Pace of the game doesn't seem to be causing Micky any issues so that's great.

He was lucky to not have got a red card the other day, the ref was a doughnut, but an unbiased doughnut so he got away with a shocker. I can't remember which game but I thought 'oh dear VAR are going to ping him' but VAR is a whole box of doughnuts so....

8.5 for Micky? Nope, no, not having that. 6.5 max. Maybe I'm missing what is so great about him, lots of people saying he has great pace - must be so fast I missed it. He might earn an 8.5 one day but not yet.

I tend to agree with el vieja bastarda on this... not an 8.5 yet, but I reckon he has all the gear to get there... maybe.
