So we start life without the best goal scorer we've ever had...

One of our own...!

We again start what seems like the ever lasting cycle of new dawns under a different manager... (Same owners and chairman btw)

Ill be honest, I'm yet to see anything that concinves me our fortunes will chnage vastly over his tenure... Yep I've seen the sum total of 70 minutes of football in a friendly, but irregardless of that, we've just lost the 2nd best goal scorer in the world... (Yep I think the freak pips him) and with that, a guarantee of 30+ goals we will now need to find elsewhere In a side that looks surprisingly similar to the one that grossly underwhelmed all of us, including our star player, for the previous 2+ seasons...

"Ange-ball", as yet, is another low value Spurs experiment... it might work, it might not... I like what the guy says and I hope he has the balls and the lawyers to continue to speak his mind and tell the truth if things do start to go sour... I expect them to btw.

I'll always give him time and I'll always respect him for trying to play good fast attacking football and that's I what I want from any Spurs manager... Not even pragmatically boring 1-0 wins will satisfy me... I want to sit down to watch spurs and be excited about what may happen... thats not been the case for around 3 years now...

Anyway... as always, Levy Out and COYS.....!!!!!

I know i'm legitimately looking forward to the game tomorrow and it's the first time in a long time that that's happened.

I think the first few months of the season will be a bit of a rollercoaster personally because I think it'll take time for the players to truly get used to this new system and way of playing so we'll likely lose a good few games along the way.

I do have a feeling that Richarlison has the potential to surprise a lot of people as well. Obviously he's not going to score 30+ goals but do think he'll score plenty.

And if we can get Sonny back in to form as well, that's another bonus.

Sounds weird but I don’t really care about the result today. Obviously I want us to smash them but it’s all about the performance, and whether the lads on the pitch have the ability when it really matters, to put into practice Ange’s philosophy. I was so disillusioned by the end of last season but the way Ange talks and some of the stuff we’ve played in pre season, has got me excited again.

COYS!

Looking forward to this as usual.
Hope VDV starts
If he does, am predicting a draw, if not a loss but some exciting football

I think I always look through my Spurs tinted specs at the start of a new season. This time my specs are set to 11, if Ange delivers the sort of football I expect then we're in for a rollercoaster ride. I agree that it's going to take time to unlearn all the stuff they have been forced to play over the past few years, but given time it could happen. Imagine actually looking forward to watching Spurs play again instead of it being a dull chore that you have to do. Happy days!

Ooooh, steady on mate, those initials need to be earned. If he's as good as you think, then I might use them in a year or three, until then he's just Micky. There's only one VDV!

I think my Spurs tinted specs are worn out from over-use !

😊 Sorry its VDV for me
We've had two Jones, two Smiths, so we can have two VDVs
Delighted he starts, excellent team, going for a draw, but more likely a win than a draw

So weird, we just lost our best player in a generation yet I'm more excited about this game than any in a long time--maybe since 2019.

Delayed... due to water not being available into the ground...?

Check the Chinese betting syndicates... or ask Ivan Toney...?

Get in!

This is like night and day from the sludge we were playing under Conte.

Brilliant

Just a brilliant ball. So unlucky for Romero to have to come off but I was worried as soon as I saw the replay that he might be a bit dizzy

Nervy start, settle into the game with good pressing, scored and back to being nervy. Definently shows a new team trying to implement new items.

Enjoyable though
