Spot on, this post. Conte will have learned a lot about some of the players today. I'm really trying to like Emerson, but it gets a little bit harder every time he does his cheating fucking crybaby bit. Hojbjerg was the biggest disappointment for me. He's supposed to be the domineering hard-nosed pro, but he disappeared completely today in the face of a bit of home-crowd booing. Come on, you're better than that.

On the bright side, I thought Gil looked lively, Winksy and Dier got away with potentially catastrophic errors but otherwise played well, Dav looks confident again and Harry can still finish, despite what the VAR thinks.

We will improve... don't think Dele or N'Dombele will be around to see it though...

Royal has pissed me off with his play-acting since day one. I really don't want to see. anyone in a Spurs shirt doing that. I want the fucking useless refs and the even more fucking useless VAR to actually do something useful and make sure divers and fakers are punished severely, that's the only way it will be stopped. If a bloke dives in the box then it's a straight red and a penalty at the other end, if a bloke is on the floor for more than 5 seconds, or he rolls over more than twice, or screams like a little girl or he holds his head when nobody was even remotely close to that part of his body - then he needs to go off for 15 minutes for an injury assessment, and if the doc says he's not injured then he gets a red card.

Talking about VAR, this fucking offside bollocks needs to be stopped. When they brought it in they said it was for 'clear and obvious' incidents - a fucking armpit hair offside or a fucking eyelash, shoelace, microscopic particle etc. is NOT clear and obvious and that goal yesterday was a fucking beauty, I remember one of Sonny's goals being disallowed last season for a similarly 'invisible to the human eye' offside decision. It's a fucking joke. If VAR has to stay, and I hope it does not, then it has to be used properly, we will win some and lose some - Harry Kane would have been sent off last week, but the game will be less of a fucking joke. The only time it should be used is when something 'clear and obvious' is missed by a ref or a linesman, if the bloke on the line is temporarily blinded by a swarm of bees or he looks into the crowd because some bounder implies his mother is a lady of loose morals then he can ask for a VAR review, and that review should show that at least half of the player's body IS in an offside position, because that would be clear and obvious.

I very much accept that VAR, like refereeing (and life, I guess) in general, will giveth and taketh away, but I honestly can't see how why that goal was offside, unless they had some other angle we weren't privy to.

Anyway, not a good performance, but hopefully we'll smash Watford at their place on New Years and keep the momentum going. Winks made an error or two, but played 2-3 brilliant balls from that deep-lying position. Kane looks like he's slowly getting his mojo back. I thought Gil had something about him when he came on late as well.

We played pretty shit, but to be fair these lads are only getting some fitness back after 2 managers that didn't seem to bother with running about a bit in training. They all looked fried, and I found it hard to give them any gip while I was rubbing my turkey sandwich n Guinness belly.

This VAR offside thing though is bonkers. It has to be a players feet surely that you measure from. Players trying to beat defenders are always going to be offside by an arm simply due to setting off on a run while the defenders are upright. Lot of bollocks!
