Shocking no call on Cameron--clear penalty for me. Would've been a foul everywhere else on the pitch.

Tottenham scorer Harry Kane: "It is not an easy place to come but to win 4-0 here last year and today made it look easier than it is. I don't think we started that well but then we punished them when we needed to."
CsAQM0jXgAEPCrj.jpg

Son Heung-min, who scored twice: "It is unbelievable to win at Stoke away. we had a great game and deserved to win. Both of my goals gave me pleasure because it is my first game of the season."

Happy days!! What a fantastic result, pleased for all the boys especially Son, could be a great season for him this year after finding his feet a bit last time.

We're off and running lads....

Great team performance today. Could have been more with a first half penalty that should have been given and Alli slicing a good chance wide in the first half. When you consider there was no Dembele or Rose we look good squad wise. I was chuffed when we bought Son last summer and think we will see a lot more of him this year. He's fast, direct, and has a decent shot on him. Did Son get an assist for Kane's goal too?

What was Hughes going off his head about? Didn't see anything happen that was enough for him to get so annoyed he'd get himself sent to the stands...

Arnautovic's booking for diving. Apparently it was the fact that he left the area to remonstrate with the officials, more than anything in particular that he said.

As @deejbah alluded to, they're such a lot of crybabies, Stoke. There were missed calls both ways in the first half.

Another slow start but as the game went on we dominated more and more. Son, Dele and Kane all scoring to silence the rim jobbers, the fullbacks did there job again, I thought Davies had a good game considering he hasnt played that much. Sissoko looks like he is up for it and slotted in very comfortably.

8 points out of 12 without Dembele is a very acceptable state of affairs. I wonder/hope he will be ready for Monaco?

Tell you what,if you saw the manc derby, last 20mins we would have slaughtered both of them, looked like two over 30 year old heavyweight boxers in the 70s after a night out on the beers in the 15th round.Isnt it that simple get your team fit??
The slow starts are worrying, but we are finding our feet again it seems,Eriksen was v good ,inspite of rim jobbers talk of his early demise:cool:

Hour gone and and we look a different side.

Better intensity, MUCH BETTER ball retention, good confident pay. Stoke have given up their high intensity press that was paying off and making g ua look very normal.

I don't think Wanyama has added much form what I have seen (just an hour btw). Strength and breaking up play but distribution, ball retention and disceplines are things he most definately needs to improve on to fore his way into this side. Cup games player when everyone else is fit atm for me.

We were not that great first half, especially the first 20 mins, 2nd half normal business resumed.

Son and Lamela have great work rates... Surprised how hard Davies has worked as he was the steady, non runny fullback in my eyes.

The way Poch uses our DM as a ball paying CB a lowing our fullbacks to pin the opposition wingers right back making room for us to play s superb. The only thing you can do is get your CF's and AM to press and if they ain't use do it they will blow up or just sack it off.

Like Sisoko. Very forward minded, direct, runny, midfielder from where ever he picks up the ball.

Our side looks like it needs that as it does seem to lack a little creativity imo.

Feel like he is a Ericksen option/alternative to make that final 3rd impact while the Dire/Dembele/Dele combo do their thing a little deeper.

Let's get a shit on Kev to see what he's about and get that intensity sorted from the off and the ball retention much higher and we will seriously damage teams.

Stoke away is a game for big boys and Sissoko rather than Lamela might be a good shout in any case. Wanyama and Dier will stand their ground and there's no issue in defence. Just Kane vs Janssen up front and hopefully Eriksen and Dele play as well as they did last year against this lot.

I'd be more than happy with the same result, in fact I'd be ecstatic.
Just saying ha ha ha....!!

Well, I didn't expect that after 30 minutes. Excellent second half, the first time they've really worked as a unit which is why we had so much success last season. Eriksen seemed to relax more, the front 4 looked lively and full of running and invention. Important goal for Kane, that should kick start his season, and hopefully Alli too.
Defence is looking as solid as it did last season.
And I like the third kit.
And Mousa is back next week.

Lucky you don't have to win a game in the first 20 minutes then eh? We ain't much better than shit? Really?

Numpties in the other place have been calling for the head of Erikksen because he has had a slow start and they have been banging on for ages how shite Son is, hee fucking hee.

Yeah.... the first half we struggled to string more than a handful of passes together and gave the ball away like I haven't seen for a couple of years. Stoke (all be it 4 games in) are rock bottom so it was evident we wernt justifying our higher and aspiration higher standing in the league.

It's just the expectations I have unconcious set for this team leaking out. I know I shouldn't but it happens.

They had nothing but hard work but we're unicky not to take advantage of what they did have imo.

It got better and I'm not talking goals.

I genuinely don't give a fcuk if we loose as long as we play hard and try our arse off. I didn't see any of that until the second half

We have started slow in the games I have seen so I suppose I shouldn't have been surprised but it was the first full game I have watched.

They're like arse holes remember.

One of the match reports I was reading contrasted our composure in the game, which was pretty chippy in the first half, with the Chelsea game last season. Things looked like getting out of control in the first 45, and we handled it better than them.

Good thing about this game and those before it is that we've come out with two wins against the teams we expect to win against and two draws against reasonable teams all without Dembele.
