Whoosh! What was that? That was 2017 that was, gone, finished. Let's start the new year by carrying on with our magnificent 1 game away win run! We've got that Wemberlee lark sorted now, all we need to d is restart our great away record and 2018 will be sorted. Swansea will be boosted by their win against Watford and it will be a shame to bash them to bits and cement their relegation zone position but it has to be done!

Harry Kane needs just 2 goals to equal Teddy's 98 Premier League goals - so as he always gets a hat-trick these days he will become the goaliest Premiership player ever for us, I expect he will get 4 on Tuesday so we can all go "yay 100 Premier League Goals!", then he'll only need 161 more to take Shearer's record for the most PL goals and just 120 to overtake Sir Jimmy as our best ever league striker. It was nice all that calendar year bollocks, but calendar years are bollocks really, you could chose to start a year any day you liked, but the records are tumbling and Harry is on his way to the golden balloon or whatever them foreigners call that shiney-shiney that Ronlado and Messi usually win.

Careful with these purrdicktions mate, you might get burned as a witch - especially if you are made of wood. I predict Pochetino will be the gaffer for this game.

kyle naughty naughton been charged by FA with violent conduct vs Watford.I am guessing as he doesnt have a chelsea or city shirt on he will not be expunged,so will miss our reunion, shame because he is really quite pants.Maybe the other guy is even worser,we can hope.

Oooh Swansea have just won a game, with a couple of goals in the last 5 mins after Watford thought they had won and got complacent. There is nothing to fear here, apart from Kane's man flu, in which case we might see Llorente against his old club and if Hugo hasn't got over his birthday gaffe's against Saints maybe Vorm against his old club as well. Good luck Tommy Carroll, I think you're going to need it mate because we're all fired up after a nice relaxing Christmas and are going to win 4-1. Dele and Son with another 2 for Harry. COYS.

Happy New Year....end of the Rooster is near, Dog on the way.

Right I'm starting to get itchy and irritable, let's get these games on. I want an early goal from us tonight, then they'll have to come out and then we'll get 2-3 more.

It will be interesting to see what team Poch picks, and who he thinks have 2 games in 2 days in them. Which I still find absolutely ridiculous and if I was Wenger, Pardew or Mourinho would be writing to the FA to have a right old moan.

Any chance we start Llorente tonight? If he can't do the job against this shite show then there's really no point of having him. Is Winks available? If so this would be a good match to get his form back. I'd play safe with Tripps and Davies and maybe a start for Lamela. Would love to rest Jan but I doubt that's happening. We should really be able to stomp this team with a weakened side but we absolutely must have all three points. A conundrum imo.

Llorente only starts for me in a two with Kane or if Kane`s not well enough, full backs depends who poch fancies vs west ham,I am sure plenty will get a break at the weekends cup game,so the equivalent of 10 days off.But we need 2 wins in the league this week.

Lamela, Dele, Eriksen and Son. Interesting team!
Yep, interesting. Llorente gets a good chance to show what he can do - a good enough team to batter Swansea I think.

Kane will probably not get any time tonight because his bollocks will still ache from the kicking he received from his lady following post he made about his great year, posing with the 8 hat-trick balls and the golden boot, maybe he should have mentioned the birth of his daughter? As some wag said on Twitter - "yeah OK, so she gave birth to his daughter - but did she score 8 hat-tricks?". No, she did not.

Ha ha yes exactly. Still we've got to have a squad good enough to beat Swansea away and West Ham at home if we have any sort belief in doing well in Europe and at the top of the Premier League. Not quite sure why if Kane is on the bench he's not starting......the best impact sub of all time?

Keep our heads down, do the hard graft and the points should come home with us. Let us just get the job done and keep pace with Liverpool.

On Rose: it's the same knee. Been feeling it recently. He'll have tests this week but not expected back soon & definitely out of West Ham/Wimbledon.

Mauricio on @HKane: "He's okay, it's just a bit of a risk to play him from the beginning. If we need him, I'm sure we will use him. We play twice in 48 hours and need to manage the team.

Told ya after burnley Dele`s back!!good to see him smiling again.Deffo pen for the 2 hands in the back push on him, guess his rep is counting against him at times.
Thought ref had a shocker, dishing out cards too quickly to both teams on a pitch like that, glad to have got out of dodge with the 3pts.

Got a bit lucky tonight, but attitude was spot on! Then looked like we took it easy and got away with it a bit in the second half.

3 points get out, get rested, and get ready for the Pikeys. See you there?

Rotten game to watch but that is completely understandable due to the waterlogged state of the pitch plus an opposition that sat 10 behind the ball for the first 70 minutes. Given the atrocious conditions we did well enough.
