I have no idea if Inter are any good or not? when we played them last time they were champions of Europe the previous season under Mourinho and we all know what happened then. I was fortunate enough to go to both games, the atmosphere in Milan was brilliant, but nothing compared to WHL under lights and taxi for Maicon. Great night - repeat please.

Is Poch binning this game?
"The plan is to leave them there and use different players tomorrow. There’s nothing in behind it. Only that we’re playing with different players. " just said at presser.

So Sanchez and Aurier then, probably Davies at LB and an interesting midfield. Wonder if Gazza will be in goal?

"It will be a very competitive group stage and it’s very important for us to get a positive result tomorrow. Both teams arrive in a similar situation and we’re both going to fight to change that feeling."

Well I recognise a few and they're in the CL so must be reasonably decent. Poch seems to be gambling for me, when a good start might be more beneficial overall. We'll see, he's got very little wrong in 4 years so far. Amazing how complacent you can get so quickly. we hadn't had CL footbally for what seemed like forever and now it's Inter Milan away...meh. Shocking really.

Well he played Aurier in most CL games last year iirc, so I guess he figures there’s no need to take them if they probably won’t play. Seems very strange though.

In a way its a complete non-story,sanchez sat out saturday as did aurier,I bet dier is on the bench as our reserve CB/DM,cant take them all and may as well get some rested for the long month ahead.Son,Lamela are fresh and keen, lucas too, wanyama possibly ready to start, davies rested.I wont care if Lamela plays #10 and eriksen sits most of this game out too.

You're right, there's no point in having depth if you can't use it, but it sure would be nice to have Toby to bring on if we're sitting on a 1-goal lead at the San Siro. Trips I totally understand, the punishment our fullbacks take every game means they have to be rotated.

Yup completely agree, it is a non story, the way it was reported that they had been left behind for ‘technical reasons’, as if to suggest there’s something more sinister at play with the ‘’. I mean I guess playing Devil’s advocate that it’s a bit strange leaving them behind, they would’ve been more than useful on the bench but there’s definitely a case for Tripps having a rest so it’s kind of understandable.

On another issue, I was thinking over the last few days that I’d kinda like to see Erik play in a more defensive role, in terms of passing, he’s probably 2nd only too Eriksen in terms of his range, he’s got a decent engine on him and likes to get stuck in, maybe a little too much for that particular role and it maybe a risk to play him as a CM/DM in a cl game but i’d be interested to see how he’d get on, maybe Brighton. I just think with Erik and Moussa in there it gives us a bit more dynamism and purpose in the centre of the park. What do you lads think?

I'm surprised you've not heard of Nainggolan?

You know, Belgian, midfielder, mohawk and lots of tattoos, including a fairly bold neck tattoo
also they have Icardi, but Pot 4 is pot 4,regardless of history.

We simply need to mooooove on from the last two defeats. Hope that Sanchez, the fullback annd whomever we start in goal are up for it. We have a better team and should win if we play with intensity and commitment from start to finish. But honestly, it's been a while since we've played a match like that.

Inter are turnip but you still need to respect these teams as they have been here before and we haven't been looking to hot ourselves. I think this will be a nice game for the lads to grab hold of. Eriksen will have more room, Lamela will be looking forward to it from an old rival and maybe get wanyama back Upto match fitness.

I'd like to see Kane back up as a true 9. Moura is thriving running off Kane but Kane isn't enjoying it and I still reckon moura would do damage from wider.

I think for the foreseeable we will see a few of these 'technical' decisions. Most of our players are running on fumes already and we are only 5 games in to the prem season.

Really looking forward to this game now. A bit worried about past performances but it's another game and a chance to put things right. Part of me thinks we s=need to just won this anyway we have to, but the other part of me thinks we need a good performance to boost moral. I'm whoever plays at the back will be fine and I hope Aurier has benefited from full pre season as looks like he'll be starting today. We've just got to be better than we have been. I'd like Lamela to start today Son and Moura too as I think Son and Moura either side of Erik would be bloody good.

Good luck lads. 2-2 anyone?

As long as we don't get the keeper sent off and 4-0 down by half time we'll be fine. #Cantsmilewithoutyou

Wonder what Chelsea and Arsenal fans are doing tonight?

Interesting. Would have liked to have seen Moura and no Dier but I hope to be proven wrong. If Dier sits deep and quickly moves the ball to Erisken and Mousa we'll be fine. The front three is interesting. Have a funny feeling we're gonna tear them up. COYS!
