If you think about it, he'll hold all the cards in any negotiations for the job.

Levy must realise full well that he's the only man who can get the fans back on side and that he's also likely the only appointment that would stand a chance of keeping Kane at the club next season so Poch could, theoretically, ask for certain assurances and make sure they're written into a contract so that Levy can't fuck him over again.

I remember when we appointed Harry and how one of his demands was that he wouldn't work with a Director of Football and Levy agreed to it so it could certainly happen again.

The crowd was singing his name tonight. That will be enough to nudge Conte out the door and sends a massive message to Daniel Levy who desperately needs to win the supporter base back.

I'd be prepared to bet money that Pochettino will be Spurs manager before the end of the week.

I'd love to see it. It could be a zero pressure situation giving him 12 games to assess the squad properly and if top four is achieved, it's an added bonus.

I'm still not entirely sure Conte will walk, even though there's now little point in him staying, but I'd wager the majority of the fans would be quite happy to wake up tomorrow morning to see a "Conte leaves Spurs" headline.

Crypty old pal... I smiled when I saw this... because I also want what it used to represent...

But even if you stick a solitaire diamond ring into the top of a straming plie of shit... the smell doesn't change...

Levy doesn't care about Poch or Poch's legacy... if anything he could fuck him even harder than he did before just to show how much he is the saviour we all need and not Sir Pochetinhio of Tottenham...

Look, I want to dream about it being fucking brilliant again... because it was just that... the best memories I have ever had as a Spurs supporter...

But it's not the same, it's a different era. An era of mega cash, mega deals, mega wages, mega players... and while on paper we are a mega club... we don't behave like one.

Poch would be mad to tarnish his reputation going back to the bitch that wrung him out and fucked his fat uncle just because he asked for a little sugar...

I will say it right fucking now... IF it happens, Levy will eventually fuck him, just like he has fucked everyone else in pursuit if his own interestes...

If anything, the last three managers have proven what Levy should have known before he sacked Pochettino. The squad was cooked so it's not as if the results directly leading to Pochettino's sacking were as a result of him losing the players or the ability to manage.

I desperately want Pochettino back but ironically it must be on the understanding that Levy invests in youth. And not youth as in "cheap" but kids who are very good, can slot right in and grow under Pochettino, even if they cost a bit more. I don't think massive investment in proven players already the wrong side of 25 is the way forward now. It's rebuild time and with the right support, and ongoing support Pochettino is the guy. Players like Sessengon, Bissouma, Spence, Udogie, Emerson, Porro, Skipp, Romero, Bentancur and Kulusevski for a very good core of young talent with upside. Sessegnon for example I can see absolutely thriving under Pochettino.

If we can convince Kane to stay and put games into these younger players then I can see it working. Even Richarlison could do well in that environment. Personally I would be happy to move Son, Hjojberg, Dier, Davies, Moura, Perisic, Lloris and Sanchez on and replace them with young, hungry and talented kids who Pochettino will put his faith in. We then cop a year of up and down results without expectation and hope that we have enough of these younger guys evolving into truly elite players to build a core. And then we top up with similar every season according to need.

Put all this in a PowerPoint and you could interview for Paratici’s job…

Poch is probably the only realistic manager we could appoint that doesn't see Son and Kane hand in transfer requests in the summer.

Pretty fucked that in 2023 he gets to start the rebuild he spoke about in mid 2019. In the meantime we've gone through 3 full time managers, signed a heap of players like Hojberg, Richarlison, Bissouma, Emerson Royal, Perisic etc. for the different managers setups. So Poch joins probably with the squad more disjointed than when he left. Needs to be a 5-year contract.

With a new director of football who can actually spot new talent and not just going back to the well with his Juve scout reports. Go to the Bundesliga, La Liga and Ligue 1 and sign players 18-24 years of age who are trustable to play now but upside to be great, but also looking outside the big 4 leagues for young talent who have upside to be our next world-class level players.

Even in the Poch days I wouldn't say we've nailed the above. Sure we signed Son and Dele. But the rest were either at the club already (Lloris, Eriksen, Dembele, Vertonghen) alongside failures (Soldado, Capoue, etc) or were relatively proven in the league and bargains (Toby, Wanyama)

We've got so many youngsters with potential in the squad that we'd likely only need one or two quality signings to change things up sufficiently to do something.

Destiny Udogie is joining at the end of the season and he's rated almost as highly as Porro as a wingback so you've got two youngsters with pace who would likely be ideal for the system that Poch prefers.

Get a quality CB in to play alongside Romero and you've got a pretty formidable back line for starters.

Well called out.

The Paratici thing is a myth. Outside of the two guns he brought from Juventus, what is his contribution? The guy hired Nuno FFS.

And as good as it was getting those 2 it included a dodgy as fuck deal to help Juventus not pay Boca extra money on Bentancur. Can't believe he is still in a job. Bring back the black box!

While I hope it is Poch for memories sake, I hope it isn't for success's sake.

If Poch came back, fantastic, but I wouldn't shed a tear if he didn't. Thomas Frank or De Zerbi would be 2 that I wouldn't say no to, and if Harry moved on, Frank could bring Tony with him too and I'd stick £100 on Tony to put the ball out of play for the first throw in on his debut.

I believe he's good at it.

Because, as a manager, he hasn't won anything of note anywhere. (I rate all French cups as mickey mouse cups)

So winning the French league is nothing?

He’s a top manager. The best we have had in decades.

Agreed. The reality is that just about every “proven” manager these days has only proven they can win trophies when they have better players than almost everyone else. Which is exactly what Poch did at PSG.

There are almost no managers out there who consistently have a club outperforming their finances, and at Spurs he was one of them. As you say, he is the only manager in ages to have us seriously competing for trophies.

If it's between a French league title, a Scottish & Japanese league title (Postecoglou),a Ukranian league title (De Zerbi) & the Championship (Silva)... I'm not sure that arguement stacks up.

And lets not pretend the high profile option in Enrique is remotely a good idea. The bloke had Iniesta, Pique & Busquets. We have Hojberg, Dier & Bissouma. He won't be able to get the football he likes to play with our group.

Come on man, that's harsh.

Dier's a good player, isn't he?

Isn't he?
