I agree, let's push them like we didn't push Leicester last season.

This is from the Guardian.....quite interesting.

Even this season Tottenham could finish on 89 points, enough to win the league in nine of the past 10 seasons, and still come second. Welcome to our world, neighbours. A place where you can excel, look great, win friends, play nicely and still not cross the finish line first.

On the plus side, even in the current Spurs team there is still slack to be taken up, progress Pochettino can make. There is an inconsistency to this young team, purple periods undermined by the odd wobble. Between 15 October and 11 December last year Spurs won three of 13 matches, went out of the Champions League and the League Cup and dropped 11 points. If they could have just held on to draw at Stamford Bridge in the middle of all that they would now be top of the league.

Something similar happened the previous autumn with 13 league points dropped from 1 October to 13 December. Perhaps this is a legacy of breaking in those relentless pressing drills, finding the deeper rhythms for that game of sprints and hustle. Either way Pochettino will be aware of the dip and will work at pre-empting it next time, helped perhaps by a non-tournament summer.

Its still game on, we just need to win our games and wait to see if they slip up. Love what Poch said about it in his interview

Just in case anyone thinks we haven't done fantastically well this season against really tough opposition, ALL the top teams in the Premier League, except Arsenal, have upped their game this season. I don't include Leicester as a top team as their title win last year was just a fluke, to come from nowhere, win the title and then slip back to nowhere doesn't make them a top side. After 33 games (because they all have to have played the same number of games or the stats would not be beautiful, they would be corrupt, filthy, tainted stats - yuckkk!),the points percentages changes on last year were:

PremierLeagueSwingometer_after33_zpsnfwrohpc.png

Chelsea up 77.27%
Everton up 39.02%
Liverpool up 22.22%
United up 14.29%
Spurs up 13.85%

West Brom* up 10%
City up 8.33%
Scum - same as last year
....
Leicester down 48.61%

*OK, WBA don't eat at the top table, but they are in the top half of my points percentage swingometer and will probably be celebrating a good season for them.

The stats are the same for goals scored, and reversed somewhat for goals conceded - duh! You could say that last year's standard was really low and we are going back to the usual high standard or you could say that this year has been a massive improvement and for any team to record a 9 game run of wins is pretty amazing - I know which one I prefer, but stats are great you can read them any way you want.

Plain and simple in the last two seasons, the Woolwich Nomads have been top of the league for 20 odd weeks, and yet failed to win either league.....Spurs have never been top.
Oh well, with our title challenge over, we need to send best wishes to Arsenal, LFC, Man c and Man Utd with their quest in over turning Chelseas lead

I certainly don't think it will happen, but I just hope the lads don't go off the boil if/when Chelsea beat Middlesborough and the title looks certain to go to Chelsea. No repeat of last season please. Last season when the title was out of reach they gave up.
Like posters said in the West Ham thread, I don't think that result had much importance regarding our position. To win it was always highly unlikely and 2nd is still practically ours. However, if City and Liverpool win their last 3 games, which is quite possible, then we will need that 1 point to ensure 2nd and not fall out the top 3.
I'll reiterate. This isn't really mentioned as a worry as I see a lot of heart and grit in this team this season. This season has been great, excluding our champions league showing, and we are on the rise. I'm happy as ever to be a Yid right now and I think the players will bounce back and I'm confident we can beat Mourinho's bus. As long as we show the same determination we will finish this season strongly. Just I hope no complacency sets in as everyone thinks we've got 2nd in the bag. Fight til it's mathematically sure.. And then keep going!

Yeah, I'd expect so but United have been jammy this season despite Mourinho saying the complete opposite. I won't be too bothered how we play if it's already confirmed we are 2nd. But I won't count our chickens until it's done.

Nice rant, but have to say he does look like the picture I have in my mind of some of the people in the other place, locked in their bedroom with their keyboard.

So with the Dippers drawing, we've now guaranteed cl group stage football next season, another remarkable season. One more point and it's a guaranteed second. Next stop, we'll be champions, surely! Congrats to the lads.

The main difference between us and those rentboy Chavs this season, has been the fact they've had no European football and that they've not been, as that twat Lampard said "the best team by far this season".

So let's compare points after we went out to Gent...

Spurs
Played GF GA PTS
12 33 7 33

Chavs
Played GF GA PTS
12 28 14 30

So in conclusion, playing without Europe is piss easy and we deserve the title!!
