Controversial thread title? I think we should be made to sit on the naughty step for ignoring the letter and spirit of the law. Our players totally ignored the Covid rules when celebrating the goals last weekend. I counted 9 players in the mass cuddle after the first goal and only slightly less in the following goals. This virus has to be taken seriously, especially in the country with the highest per capita death rate in the world, thanks to the Brexit Fanclub so-called government's 'world beating' handling of the virus. Like it or not, blokes who earn millions for booting a football around are role models and they need to set an example.

I thought the same, however it was widespread across all clubs with the exception of Leicester. So all need to be fined with the threat of a deduction of points, which would really make a difference.

Why is football happening when 1600 people lost their lives to this virus yesterday...

Its absolute horse shit. So they can't hug when a goal is scored... but they can safely run, tackle, stand in the penalty box waiting for a corner/free kick, sit next to one another in the changing room, eat together before and after games and every day at the training grounds....

They all pass Covid tests before making the squad for the day so they are all in theory Covid safe....

The whole thing is an absolute bag of shit and is actually a binary decision...

Is it safe yes or no....?

If its not, then pack it up and shut it down.

Your beloved Sean Dyche was arguing last week that they ought to vaccinate the players rather than constantly testing them.

You know what, he might be onto something there.

But you can't have professional athletes jumping the queue. There is greater need elsewhere.

That's true, but it's a relatively small number and football is supposed to help relieve mental stress - I mean it's not working for me, but it's supposed to. As long as all NHS and frontline key workers, including emergency services and teachers have been vaccinated first.

Similarly I would imagine that's what they're considering to ensure that the Olympics go ahead. I think if the clubs and IOC paid for it, I'd agree with the plan.
