Chelsea and Tottenham have had their fines for the feisty scenes that marred the two clubs' 2-2 draw in May reduced by the Football Association following an appeals hearing, the English football governing body announced on Tuesday.

The FA issued Chelsea and Tottenham with a combined fine of £600,000 in mid-May after both clubs admitted a charge of failing to control their players during the 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge, which ended Spurs' challenge for the Premier League title.

Of that £600,000, Chelsea were ordered to pay £375,000 while Tottenham were handed a £225,000 fine following the game, which saw nine Spurs players booked while Mousa Dembele was banned for six games for his eye gouge on striker Diego Costa.

But a statement on the FA's website today read: "An Appeal Board has reduced the fines issued to Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur in relation to events at Stamford Bridge on 2 May 2016.

"Following the game, both clubs were charged by The FA with failing to control their players and officials.

"An Independent Regulatory Commission ordered that Chelsea be fined £375,000 and Tottenham Hotspur £225,000 after taking into consideration previous similar breaches of FA Rules.

"However, following an Appeal Board hearing the fines have been reduced to £290,000 and £175,000 respectively. It remains that both clubs have been warned as to their future conduct."

Go fuck yourselves FA. I know in hindsight the suspension of Dembele did us no favours but for 90 mins I couldn't have been more proud of the eleven young men fighting for our shirt on the pitch that night.

I am proud of them as well, I blame Clattenberg, he lost control of the game, Costa should have been sent off ages before the Mousse was provoked into nearly doing something girly to him. I keep hearing that he is the top English referee, bollocks to that. Just like Howard Webb, he has lost his bottle, refs are too scared to enforce the rules of the game in case there is controversy and their lose that nice little earner of at least 85 fucking grand a year. The FA are too scared to enforce the rules of the game, just handing out fines which in today's football mean fuck bleeding all. Our lads didn't start the fight but they had the big swingers to hand it back to those dirty cunts when Clattenberg didn't do his job, good job chaps!

I know lots of geezers don't want video refs to stop the flow of live games and I see their point, I disagree as it would stop cunts like Costa getting away with their subtle thuggery. At the very least I want to see a video tribunal sit after every game and hand out bans to offenders like that cunt Costa who cheat like fuck, it would stop the bollox that I think is ruining the beautiful game pretty quick.

I was amazed no one actually commented on the fact that Dembele's finger didn't actually make contact with Costas left eye, or that his instant reaction was to put his hand up to his other eye. Clearly trying to cheat the officials. He's an odious cunt, as are all their players, fans, ex players, ex fans, owners, tea ladies and car park attendants.

Man, that was a safe bet. Anyone who watched him play for Rangers could see he didn't have the same sharpness on the ball or the same movement ability as someone like Carter-Vickers.

I've just got home from a bit of work in Venice to find my Bronze members box waiting for me.....It's lovely, just like a Christmas present, with the bit of highlighted history in the lid. However it's also clearly designed to appease the wrath of being charged full price for membership, without the same priority for obtaining tickets.

I think I'd rather prefer a £30.00 discount, no box, no crap scarf, or useless oversized postcards and booklets and better access to tickets. I like the pin badge though!

It's nice but unnecessary in my view, because the membership this season doesn't deliver what we all want most.

Welcome aboard btw @spursman18 yiu massive spunk trumpet lol
The ultimate compliment from you good sir, being massive spunk trumpets is the target we all should be setting ourselves in this new world where we know games last 90 minutes and our players are not computer game characters.

Aim high fellow Spursy chaps, we may not all achieve the accolade of MST, but we should all be aiming to stand on that top podium of spunky trumpetness.
