Who are our recent mistakes? Solomon, Richarlison, Spence ?
It is true that clubs can't always get it right on transfers but there has to be a % that's the norm or acceptable.
Solomon got injured so early, I believe it’s tough to make a judgement on him. Same as Spence really who never had a chance.

Spence we can review at Xmas to see how is has adapted to first team action. Solomon will probably be sold next summer, he was free transfer.

Richy has been a bit of a disappointment. Held back by Kane in his first season, then 2 injury hit seasons. Last year, around Xmas time when he had a consecutive run of games, he looked really good. I do think the club would have sold him this summer if an offer/he was willing to go.

On the plus side, Romero, VDV, Porro, Udogie, Bentancor, Kulu, have adapted a lot better and IMO can be considered as decent trasfers.

i also think Solanke and Gray will be added to this list by Xmas. Maybe Bergvhal, but he needs time to make an impact.

Alfie Devine has joined Belgian Pro League side Westerlo on loan for the remainder of the 2024/25 season.

The attacking midfielder had two loan spells in 2023/24. The first was at Port Vale in League One, his first taste of league football, where he made 26 appearances and scored three goals before moving up to the Championship and Plymouth for the second half of the campaign, where he made 15 appearances.

Alfie appeared in five of our six pre-season friendlies this summer, including being part of the tour of Japan and South Korea, and was on the bench for our Premier League clash against Newcastle at St James’ Park on Sunday.

Our youngest player and goalscorer after coming off the bench to score against Marine in the FA Cup aged 16 years and 163 days in January, 2021, Alfie will team up with Luka Vuskovic at Westerlo, the Croatian defender who will join us in 2025 from Hajduk Split.
