Could be an interesting window. Will Levy back the manager?

Rumours that Rondon will head out on loan and Bergwejin will be sold. All I want is Vlahovic, De Ligt and a creative midfielder….

I'm afraid you may be disappointed, @Havocc . I know I'll be disappointed, because I don't think 20 out and 20 in has been done before.

Fuck knows if Levy and Lewis will back the manager. All the evidence says no, but I can't shake the irrational feeling that they might have finally realized a successful football team is key to maintaining the value of their facility investments?

Surely you can only back the manager if there is room in the squad to add new players? Unless we either sell on the cheap, loam out, or send some to the reserves, not sure how that is possible.

it’s going to be made worse by the media making up stories on the number of players we are linked with too.

I think the summer may be better, but I do think Conte would not be here if he did not have a plan for January.

Difficult to buy quality in January and quality is what we need, not 'opportunity' or 'hope' or 'promising'

Worse for us, I'm sure Conte doesn't care.

I would be surprised if one or two players didn't come in, and more than that out, probably on loan. But it would be interesting to know what the short-term plan is. On the one hand, we are rubbish. But we're also four points off the top four with a game in hand and a reasonable run of fixtures in December. It's not hard to imagine Tony, given his previous, demanding some investment in January if we're still in striking distance of the top four. Nor is it hard to imagine Levy bringing in fuck all. Interesting times.

Reading that Joe Rodon is "100% committed" to leaving the club in January after Conte confirmed that he's basically backup for Eric Dier. It'll be a real shame if he does go as I think he's got real potential and I'd certainly have him ahead of Dier in that respect.

I agree. It's a shame as a number of Spurs coaches refuse to play him. Seems to be telling.

Yes, that's a good point actually. I think he was obviously signed to appease The Cunt who probably didn't want him in the first place, but for Conte to not want to look at him either could suggest something other than playing ability ?.

I suspect Dier himself will be backup to Romero when he comes back from injury so Rodon really wouldn't get any game time at all when that happens so he's probably better off out of it.

Juan foyth 2.0...

This will bite us in the arse at some point...

Dier is not the long term answer...

I think that tells you more about the strategy or more importantly the term of the strategy we are looking at employing under Conte.

Short term fixes, short term contracts, more middle of the road, mediocre, horse shit to keep the money train on track without upsetting the balance sheet.

If you have a 3 year deal, you only seriously get 1 summer to build that squad in order to compete...

So I'll accept horse shit, poxy, fixes to stop us getting relegated. But the summer will be "pony up" time for everyone involved.

@Yid I get where you're coming from BUT I'm sensing a change in Levy's perspective. I may be naïve in thinking this but after all this past summer's BS coach-capades I believe Levy knows he swung the pendulum too far in the wrong direction & felt the fans' wrath.
I believe he'll back the pair of Italians.

Open question, considering we all appreciate that buying quality in January is difficult, where are we going to find players? I think the answer is Leicester, someone like a Maddison, for example, we need a link between defence and attack so that Sonny and Moura don't have to drop to deep.Maybe there's similar quality in Europe? as long as it's not a black French winger, I'm happy.

Would love to know what really happened to him. Doesn't seem like booze or drugs so a bit baffling what could cause someone to go from one of the best in the world to absolutely horrible.

I do wonder if it was a combination of things ?

Maybe it was the Cunt calling him out as lazy almost as soon as he arrived ?. Maybe it was the change in agent ? The supermodel girlfriend ?.

I imagine Poch was the stereotypical "arm around the shoulder" manager with him and let him get away with a lot as long as he produced on the pitch and he did. Subsequent managers have expected the players to knuckle down and work hard in training to get into the first team and maybe Alli has simply thought "fuck that" ?.

I don't know. As Yid has said, it's a fucking waste.

He's a Celebrity - get him out of here. I think the hairstyles, the product sponsorship, the dozy botoxed bints with single digit IQs and the lifestyle was enough for him. Remember Benny? He never really liked football but would sometimes be good, other times fucking horrid. We haven't seen the good side of Dele for two or three years, so it's time for him to go.

I'm not totally convinced it's the celebrity lifestyle that did for Dele. Agreed, his social media persona is quite frustrating (given his inability to perform on the pitch) but in reality it's not atypical of young men of his age apart from better-looking girfriends.

I'm inclined to believe that his various injuries have taken a toll physically and mentally. He can still get about the pitch, it shows up more in his touch and weight of pass - he just doesn't have the control that he did. But it also seems that he isn't totally aware of how his ability has declined - he still thinks he can nutmeg everyone when he simply can't.

He's done with us, that much is clear. I hope he can find a way to make it all work again for him somewhere else, but sadly I can't see it. I'd call it more of a great pity than a great waste.

It's a bit of a random comparison I suppose, but I always remember how Teddy Sheringham changed his game as he got older. He clearly understood that he couldn't race around the pitch like he used to and adapted to become more of a goal scoring playmaker than an out and out striker and it worked. He was still scoring goals even in his 40's in the end.

Age wise, he was obviously a lot older than Alli is now, but i think it shows that if you want to understand what you can do, you can certainly change to remain successful. But maybe Alli needs the right manager to do that ?

Needs a change of scenery. Would send him on loan and hope he comes good with 6 months of playing time. His value won’t go any lower if he continues to shit the bed so it’s worth it.

Not at all surprised. Its a waste..pure and simple. He was surrounded by the wrong people at the wrong time and now he's got a long road back, IF he actually wants to get back to the player he once was.
But this decision is a positive one. For him, it means a fresh start and a chance to prove alot of people wrong, for us, because downbeat attitudes and low confidence is never a good thing in any dressing room....

Good luck to him. I really hope for his sake, he gets back to where we all know he can be.

Looks like Winky (Winksy) will stay but Ndombele...

Fair play to Winks, I'd have thought he was gone for sure, but obviously Conte is sorting out those who are willing to put in the work and those who'd rather go the easy route.

It baffles the shit out of me how "that cunt" and then "the BOAC" didn't think about making him pass the ball forwards...

We've seen the past few weeks that he has it in him...

He has always worked hard... his commitment hasn't ever been in question it was just what he offered to the side in either direction.

N' FatBelé however, has never shown the application required to make it at the highest level.

He will not be missed and whoever scouted him needs a rocket up their arse.
