Ryan Sessegnon [injured]
Ashley Phillips [injured

Not very optimistic but this possibly is a game that calls for the patient approach ? I think we actually need to tuck in and be compact.
We have the pace in Sonny and Johnson to hurt them and get their defender's turning.
If we're too open here, we'll get slaughtered. But as Ange said, it's not who he is and he'll always have a crack. I do love him for that though..

Could be a good opportunity for the bench warmers to shine. Van de Ven , Maddison and Romero are the two most important players in that list. Yeah, I know I said two but I had missed Romero. Richardson hasn't shown much, has Perisic hasn't been seen that much this season, Sarr I think needs more time to develop and I don't think he'll be missed too much , Solomon - dunno, Bissouma is of course the 4th more important player I also missed.

There are some positives, Udogie is back, Bentancur, the all new improved Eric Dier version 2.0 might shine again, Davies is solid and can be very effective, Porro is one of my favourite players this season, Brennan Johnson has huge potential and might win us this game - and Lo Celso might at last show I was right in rating him, he might not, who knows?

Win this and we could be joint top as City and the Dippers did us a favour today, Brentford ain't no pushover for the goons, even if the worst happens we'll still only be 3 (or 4) points off the top after 13 games - who wouldn't have taken that at the start of the season?

Wish I could be optimistic, but I'm not. What a difference a couple key injuries make

Go on, go, on, go on, how about a nice cup of tea? Try being optimistic, you get a nice happy few hours before the match and then if it goes Spursy the pain only starts during the game. We need to be a proper team that doesn’t rely on a couple of players so maybe these injuries and suspensions will help the whole squad grow?

Nope...

...But I do agree with the next bit... I think regardless of the results in these games we have to learn from this. Players, manager, team, backroom etc all need to realise the consequences of their actions and grow some bollocks in the face of adversity...

Almost feel sorry for Dier. Gets a start last time and is immediately dropped for Royal.

But I’m legitimately excited about that lineup though.

Looking at the teams this has got 6-5 or some crazy scoreline written all over it.

Emery would be looking at that thinking “what the fuck.”

Me too, little Bryan zipping around with Johnson and Emerson’s humongous shorts will dazzle them into a state of whatever a word for dazzled is, dazzlement?

Emerson might be hiding an extra defender in his giant shorts ..

Surely Dier must see that he just doesn't have what it takes to play in Ange's system.

I’ll get slammed by some for saying this but Emerson is simply a better footballer than Dier. I have no issues with the change at all. Emerson has played RCB in the past.

Oh get a room with Emerson will you? He is a terrible defender, nowhere near as good as big Eric, his shorts are ridiculous and his haircut is pony as fuck. I like him, he makes me laugh, I think he’s well liked in the squad, but his flashes of footballness are outweighed by his circus clown moments. Now of course, having said all that he’ll score a cracker and have a great game, I hope so.

Dier coming on apparently. Commentary claiming Udogie has a problem, although he’s signalling he’s ok
