Well I’m glad it’s all over. I’d agree about the football he had Wolves playing as well.

He’ll live and die by the squad movement though. If Levy truly has stepped back from footballing and transfer decisions then he might have a chance of getting players he actually wants and getting rid of some of the deadwood.

We’ve had success before when we’ve appointed managers who haven’t always been the first choice so hopefully we’ll do that again.

Interesting to see how many of the new signings are A) Portuguese and B) Jorge Mendes clients.

I have a feeling this Mendes fella may become a issue

I do recall being very happily wrong when thinking that the Argentinian from La Liga must have been third choice behind van Gaal and De Boer.

The song sounds great. But I think I shall take a solemn vow to always refer to him using his full name.

Perhaps Gregorian plainchant style: "Nuuuno Esssspiritooo Saaantos...."

OK, I'm happy, I am not going to prejudge Nuno. I did the last bloke, but I knew he was a cunt, he always had been and always would be. Nuno is the opposite in cuntishness to Mouronho, he's a decent bloke so that's good. Lets' see how he does working for the arch cunt of cunts and if that cunt takes a step back from the football decisions and lets the experts get on with it. Will Levy give him the time needed to rebuild the prolapsed tradesman's entrance of our team, buggered to fucking bits by JM, will he spend the money needed, will he get rid of the dross regardless of the financial hit he might have to take, will he let players go who don't want to stay because it has been proved time and time again that forcing unhappy players to stay makes them play like one legged little girls? I doubt it, but I will be hopeful.

He is, as of now... not a cunt...!
He would become an instant legend if he walked out for training on the first day wearing a t-shirt with "Not a Cunt" over the front 🤣

If you think this might be true....then I'm afraid I think you are deluded, weve had DoF before - they are Scapegoats for Levy's control freakery.

I wish this apparently good bloke and decent manager all the luck and success in the world during his time at Spurs, there is no alternative but to back him for the sake of our club. The only bloke I have never nor ever will is Mourinho. Sherwood is even on the 'backed' list.

Let's hope he can work with what he has (minus Kane & Bale I would imagine) plus a few reinforcements - I would pick Conor Coady from Wolves as a number 1 pick with Dunk from Brighton, both captain material as well. I expect to see counter attack style football from Nuno, but sorting our 'headless chicken' defence mentality is a priority.

Welcome and Good luck Nuno.

I'm pretty deluded at the best of times :)

Aside from probably Arnesen, the DoF's we've had have been a bit shit but I get a different vibe from this appointment, even with the spectre of Jorge Mendes circling around everyone.

In Paratici, you've got someone who spent over a decade at a bigger club establishing a pretty solid reputation. Is he really going to risk that, and all of the ball ache that comes with it, to go to a smaller club and be told what to do by a deranged pipsqueak ?

I guess, ultimately, time will tell, and I think Nuno's first couple of team selections will give us a pretty good indicator of who is really pulling the strings as well, but I just think this time .. maybe ?

Obviously we'll be here this time next season when Nuno has been sacked for knocking Levy out when he tried to tell him to pick Dier in goal .. or something like that :D

Well at least we know Gillette won't be sponsoring us while he's here anyway...

Think he'll be good for us tbh...Hopefully he'll bring a positive freshness to the squad, cos holy fuck we need it. Regardless of who comes and goes I really hope he is allowed to have the final say on transfers and be given the trust he needs to do his thing....

Welcome Nuno.

We had that transfer 'genius' from Southampton for a couple of seasons before Levy sacked him and someone else that was supposed to be really good and he got the boot as well, because every time they recommended someone, if Levy didn't agree or they were too much money, they never stood a chance.

Word is that he’s only been allowed to bring half his coaching staff with him.

Sounds like dear leader demanded Mason and King be used in some capacity

Worried about this from a penny-pinching standpoint, guardedly optimistic from a five-year-plan, great leap forward standpoint.

Yeah I think having a plan of succession, of sorts, is a pretty good idea but this one seems to have come from Levy's fevered imagination.

It won't be based on any kind of talent or ability, it'll be based entirely on Levy thinking "Well they played for this club, the fans like them and it won't cost me as much to promote them when I sack second Jose".

I suspect the idea is for Mason to be the manager and Ledley to be his assistant, but I'd personally want it the other way around.

Don't know if this is readable on The Athletic but it's a pretty good article about the situation and how the squad seem encouraged by Nuno's appointment.

Interestingly, it also says this ..

The players in general were barely consulted during the head coach search, and mostly knew as much or as little as the public. Harry Kane would normally have a dialogue with chairman Daniel Levy over this sort of issue, but he’s been busy at the Euros and relations between the two are pretty much broken at this point after Kane let it be known publicly that he wants to leave this summer.

There goes his gentleman's agreement then...he's stuck here for the duration.

I'm short $1 to read it, but I do hope most of the squad will get behind Nuno - it's a mental game and maybe Nuno can tap into something positive. But then I look at Dier, Sissoko, Sanchez, Doherty, Aurier, Winksy, Dele, Lamela and think he'd have to be the holy ghost incarnate.

I'm a little surprised at myself as when I saw the headline "Antonio & Nuno win PL awards for August" I associated him with Wolves. Forgot he was with us.

As a side bar to this Nuno thread, I have developed a helpfull list that will enable users to easily distinguish between the levels of cunt we all are apportioning to individuals...

Courtesy of @Dorset, we have the lowest level of cunt, Not A Cunt [NAC].

This is the current status of Mr Santa Clause him self, the THFC manager, Nuno Espirito Santo... othe notable NAC's would be Bradley Walsh, Ant or Dec... (not sure which one became a bit of a cunt by getting shitfaced and driving into people),Ghandi, Mother Theresa and Philip Schofield.

The next category I'd like to propose is Bit Of A Cunt [BOAC].

This is where the majority of individuals will sit... its very much a transient level and you can side up up down the "cuntometer" whilst remaining a Bit Of A Cunt. Good examples of a BOAC could be me, Gareth Bale, the entire Philimonic Orchestra (juts a bit cunty isn't it),Sir Elton John or basically anyone you could think of. The way I see it is we're all (apart from the aforementioned ordained above) cunts, but we are able to tolerate and even like some cunts more than others.

The top level of cunt reserved for the most heinous level of "cuntishness" is the Cock-Cunt [CC].

CC's are easy to Spot. They're usually called Jose Mourinho, Sol Campbell, Donald Trump, Adolf Hitler, whomever decided to call a Marathon Bar a Snickers Bar and Jamie O'Hara's mum for simply not aborting that foetus.

It's considered quite a feat to achieve CC status and once achieved, there is absolutely no way of redeeming yourself. You will forever be a CC.

CC's are a special breed and their ability to continue with their "cuntosity" in the face of pleas for a cessation, verbal abuse, threats of violence or even a distinct lack of any tangible audience, would in any other discipline be applauded. They are and always will be CC's

There is of course a minor sub category that is coined to describe adolescent cunts. The CUNTLING [CNTLNG] is effectively a young cunt in training. Think Justin Beiber (early years, he has now developed into a solid BOAC),that Chav families kid from down the street (if you can't think of one it's your kid and you're the chav family) or Norman from Fireman Sam (That Little Cuntling should have been left to perish numerous times, he cost the Ponty-Pandy taxpayers hundreds of thousands with his cuntosity).

To summarise:

Not A Cunt - NAC
Bit Of A Cunt - BOAC
Cock-Cunt - CC
Cuntling - CNTLNG

Hope this helps.

Wow, great info. I'm just about to email a customer of mine. Now, if I'm doing any future promotions, I can tell them I'll just cock-cunt them going forward....

This deserves a thread of its own.

But I can't be arsed to figure out how to do that, which already pushes me towards the CC end of the BOAC scale.

It brings peace to my cunty soul, however, to humbly dwell on the fundamental justice of the fact that no matter how saintly I am, the highest I can climb on the karmic scale is to be NAC. And comfort in my nigh-inevitable BOAC final score.

Whilst we're counting angels on a pinhead, I feel the need to suggest a sub-category: Not A Cock-Cunt (NACC),while nothing to brag about, as a notch above BOAC. Still retains the echo of the unattainable NAC, but ambiguous enough to encompass both our greater and lesser spirits.
