Spurs go marching on! Win this and we will equal our best run of wins in the Premier League, then we can march own to a new record and start chasing down Arsenal's record.

This is the first Saturday game we have played since the 3rd December, since then we have had 4 Sundays and 4 Wednesdays, anybody remember when footy used to be a Saturday game?

      COYS!

When we win this on Saturday morning we will go 2nd, for at least 27.5 hours, this is obviously not good enough and if we had a proper manager we would be top, but we have to put up with what we have got, whoops, sorry, wrong forum!

We have never been 2nd at this stage of the PL before, last season we didn't get there until the 25 games played stage, we held on to it almost to the end then the Battle of the Bridge fucked us over mentally and we all know what happened. This season our boys have shown that they have improved massively in the bonce department, Costa and the other Chelsea bully boys could not even rile our lads a teeny bit. This could be a massive factor in this season's outcome, we have the better team and now they have the maturity and temperament to deal with the pressure.

United and/or Liverpool will drop points, I reckon they will be a draw. Fingers crossed for a nice bit of new-manager-effect at Swansea and good luck to the Premier League champions, they can carry on the good work we started against Chelsea.

      Marching on!

We always seem to draw against this lot, I witnessed it first hand last season and they are having a good season this time around as well - under that experienced gung-ho, devil may care, festival of football for the eyes type manager Tony Pulis (not). The Chavs only managed to beat them 1-0 at home so it will be far from an easy game, especially as most of our lads have been lounging around on board the 'Saucy Sue' with their smoking jackets on for 10 days.

I expect a narrow win as well and no punches thrown by Mr Bamidele Alli, could be 1-0, or 2-1. Onward and upward. COYS.

Imo, its the shittiest game we could possibly have had after a stellar xmas period. You just know Tony just call me the bus conductor Pulis will set up not to loose. Having said that I've always found him an arrogant sort so maybe he'll think he can bring his side to the Lane and outplay us. If he does we'll rip them a new one.
we may have to work extra hard for a win tho, I'm expecting a long frustrating afternoon and would gladly take any sort of a performance as long as we get the 3pts. 0-0 at 85mins, throw Vincent on for him to get the winner with a shot deflected off his ballbag would do nicely

Might be Jansen's best chance at the moment. Didn't look fully fit the other night but I think he'll get more chances in FA and Europa.

As for the West Brom game....

I fucking hate playing this lot!!!

I think we'll do them this time though. Alli, Eriksen, Rose and Walker are all too much for them at the moment, and Wanyama can eat them up in the middle!!!

Pulis should be banned for management. His anti football tactics drive me fucking mental.

If we were ever in a shit state like them that we had to rely on simply setting up not to loose week in and out, to be as shit as posible to disrupt the flow of the game I think I'd start following a new sport.

I hope this cunt gets an absolute lesson in football management from Poch and is left clutching at clichés come the final whistle to describe just how great we were for destroying his shitty excuse for tactics and football club.

Hope Berahino is on the bench watching what he could have won too.

I'm more confident of getting a result at Man City than against this lot if I'm honest. They seem to have the indian sign over us and it pisses me right off. Please please please 3 points.

Going to be a tough game this, maybe tougher than the chavs game, as the players may not be as fired up for it. Although, they should be fired up for every game! Still, it is often the case, no?

We have another great chance to put pressure on everybody around us if we can manage to get three points. It is going to be tough though.

Back three? Do we need it against a park the bus team? Oh god, it's Tony anti football Pulis!!!! Noooooooo!!!!

Come on lads, get this muppet manager out of the way please. Screw Tony funk on Pulis!

Anyone who watched their game vs. Chelsea will know what to expect. We need to do as much as we can to get Kane or Alli isolated up against McAuley.

I cant believe that in the other gaff, when that ridiculous poch out thread started after 2 months of his tenure,i pressed some of the protagonists, well who would you have instead,a few actually said Pullis.I mean wtf do they not remember graham?any manager who is such a culture shock to our heritage&beliefs is a disaster and that includes king of the bus conductors "blakey" mourinio.
I understand teams not opening up against us and taking a chance on an alamo draw or a sneaky counter attack victory,I do get that,if they had any thing about them though i would expect to see when the games up they change to try and get back into the game, but they never do.
Hopefully get an early goal and then the game is up for the bus.

This is a massive game for the lads to show their intent. Win for us puts pressure on rest and we've got the big Sunday of boring draws. Can see Leicester sneaking a draw aswell.

Then we'll be right in the mixer!!

I'm increasingly relaxed about Saturday for several main reasons - This new Poch designed Spurs don't have a soft centre any more and never give up, they are fitter than just about any other Premier league team, they have a plan B,C and D. Even if we don't win we don't panic....there are 18 games left this season and all the clubs at the top have to play each other and others like Bournemouth away (the current banana skin) also Burnley, WBA, Everton etc away as well, so there will plenty of points dropped yet.

Poch has stealthily moved us up to third....When we win on Saturday great, if we don't it's not a disaster, this is a long way from being all over this year. Worry not my friends, worry not.

S'funny innit, we were all buzzing for the chavs game, I was really confident that we could give them a thumping, there was a really good feeling here about that game, but there's a lot of knicker wetting about the Baggies. I suppose as we are all long term Yids we have all seen it so many times before and can't get our heads around the fact that we are the new and improved Spurs and we don't get mulched by West Brom or fucking Stoke, I fucking hate playing Stoke and it will take a lot of therapy for me to get the warm fuzzies before a game against fucking Stoke.

Yeah, it will take a few years yet to escape the nagging 'tuesday night away to Stoke in November' type anxieties, the thing is that Pulis has moved on and Mark Hughes is relatively crap in comparison, we've also stuffed them 4-0 in the last two away fixtures....Be afraid (ha ha) WBA are the new Stoke!

Mauricio Pochettino says Saturday’s clash against West Bromwich Albion gives Tottenham an opportunity to show they have learned from the dip that followed their home win over Manchester City earlier in the season.

Spurs beat Pep Guardiola’s side 2-0 at White Hart Lane in October, securing their fifth victory in a row, but they then drew 1-1 with Tony Pulis’ Baggies at the Hawthorns and only won one of their following nine games.

Three months on Tottenham have returned to top form and have won their last five league matches – a run that culminated in another highly impressive 2-0 home win over league leaders Chelsea at the Lane.

Their next challenge, again, is a showdown with West Brom – this time in north London – and Pochettino is keen to ensure that history does not repeat itself.

“If you remember a few months ago, after City, I think now it’s a moment to show we have learned,” said the Spurs manager. “We have in front of us a very tough game and we need to show we have learned about [what happened] a few months ago.

“If you remember, we dropped a little bit our performance after a fantastic victory and now, after Chelsea, it’s a great opportunity to show what we deserve, and keeping the momentum for us will be key.”

Disappointing and damaging results against West Brom have become something of a theme for Spurs.

Last April the Lilywhites were firmly in the title hunt and a 4-0 victory at Stoke only highlighted their credentials – but, again, they were held to a 1-1 draw by Albion, for the second time that season.

In fact, Spurs have only won one of their last seven matches against their Midlands foes, while also losing once. The other five meetings have ended in draws – including the last three, which have all ended 1-1.

While Pochettino is determined to look forward rather than back, he is fully aware of the challenge that lies ahead this weekend – and he feels patience will be vital.

“For me the past is in the past and I think it’s [important] to put that idea away,” said Pochettino. “I’m very focused [on the fact] that this will be a different game.

“I don’t care about what happened before. It’s a new game, a different period, but it will be tough because West Bromwich are having a fantastic season so far. It’s always difficult to play against a team managed by Tony Pulis.

“If you saw the games that West Brom played against Chelsea or Arsenal they were very well organised. We will expect a very tough game and it’s sure they will put us in a very difficult situation with not too much space to play, and it will be difficult to find that space to create a lot of chances. But we have time to work and we’ll see what happens.

“One of the keys is to be patient and try to move the ball quickly and try to find the space to move them, because they will play very deep and try to exploit their counter-attack and set pieces.

“It’s important for us to be patient, to handle the ball in a better way and try to avoid their counter-attack and try to find the space and gaps to try to create chances.”

Spurs have the chance to close in on Chelsea and climb into second place in the table on Saturday – even if only temporarily – given they kick off at 12.30pm, before all of their rivals.

“I think when you play first, before your opponent, it’s always a good opportunity to put pressure on them,” said Pochettino. “We felt that in the opposite way last season because we always played after Leicester. But today we’re in a different period.

“It’s a long way to the end of the season - I think it’s not decisive to play before or after. At the end of the season that situation can affect things, but today it’s not an important thing.”

Spurs will once again be without Erik Lamela this weekend as the Argentinian continues his recovery from a long-term hip injury with his former club Roma in Italy.

“We have information about him every day,” said Pochettino. “He’s doing well, only we cannot push too much because it’s about time, so he can recover.

“But our idea is maybe one week more there [in Rome] and then back to London and try to see in which level [he’s at], and start to build his fitness to try to help the team as soon as possible.

“It’s difficult to say [when he will next play] and I don’t want to guess again because it looked like it was nothing [at the start].”

Pochettino says Marcus Edwards is "still recovering. I think he’s very close to start training with the team again".

The referee on Saturday is Anthony Taylor.....who??? Yes Anthony Taylor, he reffed our League Cup Final with Chelsea and more recently the 4-0 away win at Stoke.

10 weeks out so far for Marcus Edwards with a twisted ankle,, feel for the bloke in his alleged 'breakthough' season. Would almost certainly have played against Wycombe Wanderers and still might if he can get fit enough.

Tottenham are set to recall a number of players rested for last weekend's FA Cup victory, with forward Harry Kane available following the birth of his first child.

Erik Lamela remains sidelined by a hip problem and continues to receive treatment in Rome.

West Brom's Chris Brunt and Jonny Evans are expected to return from injury.

Forward Saido Berahino scored twice for West Brom's Under-23's on Monday but remains short of fitness.

On to team news and defender Jonny Evans will miss out with a calf problem while Chris Brunt is a doubt. West Brom are still waiting to hear if right-back Allan Nyom will be available after a dispute with Cameroon over whether he would play in the Africa Cup of Nations.

As for Saturday's opponents Spurs, Pulis says: "When you play against a top team like Spurs, anything you get is a bonus. It'll be a tough game for us.

Dele Alli has got the world at his feet. It's there for him. He's a goalscorer. He's a top player."
