Ok , back in the 80’s , I really started going in 1982 at 17ish and continued until 95ish when I got married !! There’s no denying it was the most Exciting if times, both On and off the pitch
I spent my time on the Shelf , and remember several rumbles when oppo fans tried to “take The Shelf” it really was quite impenetrable , as anyone who walked up them stairs would remember , it was quite a trek .
I remember a few occasion when Oppo fans got in the Paxton , and “Paxton, Paxton do your job “, rang out from The Shelf , and obviously quite a few rucks in the Park Lane .
I even remember the time we were at home to Liverpool around the Xmas period , and before the start all the Yids got moved out the Park Lane , the Dippers got moved over into the Park Lane , as the West zham game had been callled off and 1500-2000 Iron fans forced their way in , what a weird day that was and atmosphere
I remember a massive ruck in the High Road with Forest fans .
But which events and fans caused you most trouble

Away at highbury in 87,the chelsea west ham derby was postponed because of frozen pitch, half time a load of rentboys were allowed into the clock end,and started swinging,i was just standing a few rows back when it kicked off,all they did was thump a few normal fans and then hid behind a circle of security before our firm which was under the clock could relocate. That Jason Marriner wrote about it in his book, made it sound like the somme, but they just scared a few kids and older fans, whatever happened to the old only fight other firms??
Its always been west ham and then chelsea mostly, its a cliche but arsenal did run from what I saw especially at highbury.Strangely weird and always trouble was middlesboro, still is.
