Wow, that is a ridiculous run of games. We'll cope I guess because I assume it's the same for all the top clubs involved in Europe and League Cup. Could do with getting more of the injured back, think Rose is close, maybe Wanyama as well, otherwise we have cover for everyone except Sir Harry. but then we didn't need him against Chelsea away last year, so all good. Bring it on.

Dembele (ankle) – Back from Qatar, now doing rehab. Rose (groin) – Returned to full training and building up match fitness. Sanchez (hamstring) – Individual outdoor fieldwork. Trippier (groin) – Final stages of rehabilitation. Wanyama (knee) – Undergoing rehab.

Rose made the bench so must be good to go,poch doesnt risk people or places on the bench on a whim.To me that sounds like tripps is the next back??Just seems whoever drops out and comes in Poch just gets em firing, from gazzanigga to sissoko, foyth, winks,is it luck or good work by the coaching team?if you ask jose its pure dumb luck !!

i dont know really,he has had chances and done ok at worst,2 good right backs infront of him and perhaps we have had a tough run of games, league CL and even the league cup hasnt given us easy games.I mean there was a time Aurier filled most with a sense of "oh no" and KWP still didnt get in.If he was also cover at CB or LB or more wing back I could think the club would need a utility player, but its strange, always around the squad, not on loan, not in the U21s played what?half a dozen games in 2 years?Yeah strange is all I think, dunno what to make of it.

Ben Davies is trying really hard, but lacking a bit of fizz somewhere a long the line, KWP might have got a go there if Poch fully trusted him, we'll see in games like Saints I guess.

yes but KWP is a right back,if you are going to "invert" a players natual side then normally you pick an experienced defensive player to switch (and not Sonny!!).Ben is just steady eddie, done well last 2 games especially.

Poch likes a bit of inverting - Lamela was wide right last night for much of the game and he has only got one functioning foot!!

Yep, it's a lot of games and yep, most of the top clubs are in the same predicament. Barcelona (who might play a second string team) and the two Scum games aside it is a pretty friendly run of fixtures though. I would expect nothing less than 18 points from the 8 league matches and progression in either of the Mickey Mouse Cup (apologies to those who rate that competition) or Champion's League.

You're right in terms of 'friendly fixtures' but without wanting to sound like any Manager in a Press conference, there really aren't any 'easy' games in the Premier League, especially when you're rotating the squad. We lost to Leicester away last season in spite of loads of chances, drew at home with Burnley who will bring a big bus with them, Bournemouth are doing well and so were Wolves prior to us beating them. So yes we should win the majority of those but guys like Moura, Lamela, Dele, Eriksen and Son need to keep scoring a few and taking chances to support Harry, and the likes of Winks and Dier are going to need to boss midfield and control games. A win on Sunday and we might really light up the season, it's going to be very hard to keep up with City, but you know Poch will give it a good go. COYS
