Looking more like his old self after such a disappointing first season at the club, Bissouma was asked about his own performance but rather than waxing lyrical about what he did on the pitch, he simply said the game for him was "not a success" despite his award as the team didn't win.

"Everything is about the team, the way we work," he said when speaking in a post-match interview on SPURSPLAY. "Today I just want to say thank you to the coach and my teammates as we worked really hard for that. It's not just me, but everyone played really good.

"The first important thing for me is not to be man of the match or first, I just want my team to win. That's my mind. I don't just play for myself, I play for my team, for Tottenham Hotspur, for my teammates, for everyone.

"If I'm man of the match and we didn't win, the game for me is not a success. I prefer not to be man of the match but win the game and happy because we got three points and we can look forward to the next game.

"I can say I'm OK but not really happy because we didn't win, so we'll see next game. But thank you for this appreciation and I'm going to try to work really hard and me and my teammates to be stronger the next game."

That's what we want: a team first player giving everything he has.

Great to see him reach the levels we thought he would. Was always a beast in an attacking Brighton side, guy just got shit on by Cunte.

This guy continues to raise the bar in our midfield... Yes I know Maddison is getting rave reviews too but this lads impact at breaking up play, holding the ball recycling it and breaking the lines with darting runs while looking like it's just something every player can do is incredible...

He is Mouse'esq in the way he retains the ball and hangs it out enough for opposition players to think they have a chance, then manages to suck them in, roll them step away from them or between two players at pace, pushing us up the pitch...

He is properly good and why that Italian boner didn't use him fuck only knows...!

I'd want every kid at Spurs watching him and trying to imitate how he rolls players, beaks away, retains posession and recycles the ball...
