Tottenham duo Dele Alli and Harry Kane rated second and third most valuable players in Europe

Tottenham duo Dele Alli and Harry Kane have been ranked as the second and third most valuable players in Europe by a new study.
Only Neymar is considered a more valuable player than the Spurs stars in a new study by the CIES Football Observatory, whose algorithm for working out a footballer’s worth is based on an analysis of nearly 2,000 fee paying transfers.

Their algorithm values Alli at £136.5million, with Kane just behind on £135.2m. Barcelona star Neymar, 25, is by some distance the continent’s most prized asset with a worth of £185.4m.

CIES data also factors in contract length and age when working out a player’s value, perhaps explaining why five-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi, whose Barcelona deal expires in 2018, is worth £133.5m.

Alli and Kane are not the only Tottenham players to rank highly using CIES’ metrics, with Eric Dier given a price of £74.8m and Christian Eriksen £72.6m.

Chelsea star Eden Hazard is among a group of 10 players valued at over £100m, with his £103.1m price tag an accurate estimation of the sort of fee Real Madrid had been considering paying for the two-time player of the year.

An ankle fracture may have prompted the European champions to switch focus to the much in-demand Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe, whose value is rated at £81.5m, £5.5m less than Arsenal bid for the 18-year-old.

All of Arsenal target Kylian Mbappe's Ligue 1 goals
Arsenal’s only representative in the top 25 is Chilean striker Alexis Sanchez. Despite having only a year to run on his contract he is ascribed a price tag of £84.4m, though the Gunners are likely to have to settle for significantly less if they are forced to sell him this summer

I mean I like the idea that Dele and Harry are more valuable than Messi and Ronaldo, but given a choice I'm reasonably confident that Zidane would have stuck with the 'Orange one' for the Champuions league final.....?

Roberto Firmino and Eric Dier ahead of Aguero? what is the source of this amusement??!!

Talk of Villa signing Terry after this photo was published.

I believe Terry had his own guard of honour escort him for this photo which was taken at precisely 9:26

Meanwhile, at the other end of the moral spectrum, Griezmann has extended his contract with AM.
Gotta commend him for not jumping ship while his stock is so high & his club is transfer banned. He stayed to help.

GRIEZMANN 'SIGNS NEW DEAL'

Antoine Griezmann has signed a new contract at Atletico Madrid, according to Spanish newspaper Marca.

Reports from Spain say the supposed Manchester United transfer target has agreed to a one-year extension at Atletico which will keep him in the Spanish capital until 2022.

First off, sorry for my long hiatus..

Now, what's everyones thoughts on the whole Walker situation? Has he really spat his dummy out about Trippier being picked over him near the end of the season or is that just classic media speculation? Trippier was in fantastic form imo and deserved to keep his place.

I highly rate Walker and he has been on another level to other RBs around the last couple of seasons but I'd take £45m+ for him. That is if the dressing room isn't disrupted by his exit, he actively wants to leave and we have an adequate replacement for him that is significantly cheaper. No point keeping a player if they don't want to stay who imo isn't even part of the spine or unreplaceable (i.e. Kane, Alli, Alderweireld, Lloris).

We already have Trippier who I really do think is a quality player and although not quite at the level of Walker, he could potentially be with a solid run in the team. Also, Kane/Alli would relish his balls in the box! The issue would be getting ripped off for another RB as everyone will know we will need one. A RB to challenge Trippier who is the same level/age/price of Trippier when we bought him would do just fine I think.

Also, read about the speculated interest in Sessegnon. I really rate this kid and have a couple of Fulham mates who reckon he will be the real deal but I don't really get where he fits in? We have Davies and Rose with plenty of years of football ahead of them who both, by all accounts, seem to be happy/content. I expect Sessegnon to be going elsewhere personally - maybe Liverpool where there's an easier route to first team football..

Welcome back!
I agree with you re Walker.
And if he wishes to go, let him go but for 45M+.

There's also talk of Rose possibly leaving but it has died down of late. Even if he doesn't, the beauty with Sessegnon is that he is right footed & can play on the right.

Ah really? I am fairly certain his favoured foot is his left? Well at least from the few matches I've watched this season and highlights I've seen this season.. Would be perfect if he is a righty though!

Yeah I saw the rumours with Rose a while back but I don't think there's anything in it personally - or at least hope not. Davies was mustard during Rose's injury but it would be a nightmare if both first choice full backs left.

He's very much left footed mate, he looks pretty uncomfortable on his right foot.

A lot of money but a good signing, very promising keeper.

Prices this Summer are absolutely ridiculous.

Being reported today Walker wont push for a move, and then other reports that city will begin talks with THFC this week so take your pick!!
The Rose stuff I think is beacuse he gave an honest interview to BBC,think people believe he was talking about himself when he said some may choose to move on,personally I think he was talking about KW.
Also walker peters is coming through now,and getting attention after helping win the U20 world cup, playing on the left inside of right, probably too soon for him to start if needed, but can probably be classed as cover if Walker does go,in a bench sitting sort of way.And as you say Sessegnon if it happens,FB or wing back either side, walker stays or goes I am happy enough if the price is right for spurs, north of £50m would be great in compensating for losing a very good player to a rival-

That's interesting.
Despite him playing predominantly on the left, I've been reading more & more "authors" writing about him being right footed & having the ability to play on the right.

Hmmm intriguing old boy!

From what I've seen of him, which admittedly isn't a vast amount, he always favours his left peg. I guess playing on the left and given he's got some serious afterburners on him, he tends to favour beating his man on the outside rather than cutting back onto his right peg, so I haven't seen him on his right an awful lot but when I have seen him use it, he just doesn't look comfortable. You know when you see a player switch to their wrong foot and they just look uncomfortable, well that's how I see him. Of course I might just be talking bollocks!

I'm only going on what I have read online & to my amazement, it may not all be true.:(

We need more Dembeles! Also we need Dembele education, some folks on that cess pit of right and left wing extremism that is Twitter* seem to think the Dembele playing against England the other night is the Dembele that Levy should have bought last year and he was the Dembele that plays for Celtic when in fact the French Dembele was the Dembele that no fucker had ever heard of last year and is the Dembele that plays for Borussia Dortmund. To be safe Levy needs to buy both these Dembeles so we will the have three Dembeles, as the old saying goes 'Three Dembeles are better than one'. In fact he should also sign up the 14 year old Dembele, Karaoke Dembele from Celtic so that when our old Dembele is too knackered to play and toddles off the Dembele Retirement Home, we have a replacement ready.

* I have been twittering for a few days, but think I'll pack it in now, it's getting right on my thrupnies.

Assuming we did as advised above...you could get 1 shirt with Dembele on the back for the price of 4...#Levied.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is working on potential deals for three France internationals as he prepares for some major departures. Monaco's 18-year-old striker Kylian Mbappe, his 21-year-old team-mate Thomas Lemar and Lyon forward Alexandre Lacazette, 26, are all targets. (BBC Sport)

A team of 'cheese eating surrender monkeys'???!! ha ha

How much are those 3 going to cost them? If indeed rumours are true... and how will they adapt, would be funny to see the goons lose Ozil and Sanchez then spend the money on top names that don't quite cut the mustard.

Just for a laugh, I thought I'd try and build a team with players we had bought, not 'ones of our own' but players we had paid wedge with - and my mission, should I have chosen to accept it, was to spend less than one Mbappe, which I believe would cost at least £120m.

OneMBappe_zpsbwu9uf4e.jpg

I am not suggesting that this is lineup we would play, we could if we needed to, but those 11 blokes cost us £114m. So I have £6m change from one Mbappe, I'll stick Wimmer on the bench and use the other million for beer and kebabs!

Puts the whole ridiculous amount being paid in transfer fees into context nicely.

A survey the other day rated Dele around the Mbappe figure along with Kane and both were higher than Messi and Ronaldo. I'd rather have that Ousmane Dembele from Dortmund now anyway.

So everton sign Pickford and now Davy Klassen from ajax combined around £50m,does that open Barkley up for a move??

Also Leicester signed Maquire from Hull for £17m.
