But if we pay 75 mil for this guy I will vomit. That is WAY over the top.

If Poch wants him, I would imagine he would go a nd speak to him as he did with Ndombele and convince him that CL football and Tottenham is the place to be. If that doesn't work or it's not what Poch wants then i'd imagine we would let it go. Levy has said two things this Summer consistently 1. (sometime ago) We have transfer funds (Ndombele) but we also need to sell to reinvest (additional signings) 2. (More recently) He will back the manager to improve the team, I am hopeful that he will, especially after the new shirt sponsorship deal and I'm guessing, new Stadium naming rights deal that will be announced onced he has screwed every last penny out of some corporation or other. I would imagine he could do with a sleeve sponsor as well? Get on with it Levy, stop trying to save a few quid here and there to the overall detriment of the team.

I can tell you for a fact that sometimes it's a game between these chairmans ego's. A long time ago (and I appreciate the game has moved on) Richard Thompson - loathed chairman of QPR at the time and Alan Sugar - held by some in the same regard at Spurs, had a bet over the price that could be achieved for the transfer of Les Ferdinand. Honestly they don't give much of fuck about the players and fans, unless it has a direct bearing on the value of their personal wealth and investment at their club. Hardly a shock eh?

As I understand it the player has signalled his desire to come to Spurs so from the viewpoint of getting the transfer through I am not sure what a discussion between Pochettino and Lo Celso adds to the situation.

It is down to whether or not Betis accepts our best offer for the player, whatever that figure is.

According to media sources yesterday the player will not force a move and Betis want their asking price. If he wants to come to Spurs enough he could help himself by making it happen?

I suppose it means on some level that Lo Celso is not a prick.

Like Modric and Bale who both threw the toys out of the cot to force us to sell.

Yes, but the boot is on the other proverbial foot now.......I don't know the player and maybe if Eriksen stays we don't need him, but if Poch wants him I'd suggest we go for it and if it's 'No' then move on.

I'm not sure on transfer window dates either.......is it Europe wide on the same day or just UK. because we'd look pretty silly losing Eriksen and/or Toby and Rose after UK deadline day to European clubs, if their deadline was later

I don't know with Bale......maybe 'no smoke without fire' and he is an asshole these days, but he also seems to have been messed around by the club. It would be great if Poch got hold of him but he's 30 now and there's something going on there that isn't right. I remeber reading somewhere that he said he wants to stay and if he doesn't get picked he'll play golf every day. £500,000 a week, he can buy new clubs for his morning and afternoon round..........every day of the week. Jesus.

Struggling to get my head around this whole Poch and transfers situation. How on earth does a manager not have a clue what’s going on with his own squad and potential transfers in. Makes no sense to me.

He does have a clue, He's had a row with Levy or got pissed off with journo's asking the same questions time after time or just plain irritable.

European window closes weeks after the PL window shuts,so yes there is every chance we could lose Eriksen or whoever after we cant sign a replacement.

Honestly from what I saw yesterday, perhaps Bale`s best option is to sit it out,and Zidane could be sacked by end of sept.

But yes,you are paid ridiculous amounts its hardly slavery to suck it up and earn your 500k a week indulgence Gareth.Proper rat behaviour.

This is really dangerous and potentially hugely damaging. We'll need to sign players we may not need.

Once a couple of teams with influence get shafted, watch it revert back.Imagine Pogba going after the 8th of aug,its not only us potentially in the doodoo with this scenario.

It probably adds to the reasons why were be ing stuck with crazy prices for untested Prem players. Our window of opportunity is collapsing fast and the options that suit are limited.

If they need the money, they can just sell to a another European/world side once our window shuts.

Agree but then we are likely to be forced into taking under market value as we head into distressed sale territory.

I am happy for Levy to play hardball here. His strategy is not without risk but it is fiscally responsible.

This almost sounds like proper ITK - who knew that existed???? If true its great business by the club, assuming the bloke is any good, which w don't know yet of course.

Saw him a bit in the Copa America this summer--honestly didn't know anything about him prior to that. From the limited amount I saw him, he looks a very direct player, maybe more so than anyone in our team other than Lucas and Sonny. Between him and Tanguy it looks pretty clear that Poch felt we needed more dribbling ability in the team.

Spanish newspaper El Transistor claims Spurs have agreed a fee of €60m (£54.6m) with Real Betis for Giovani Lo Celso.

Lo Celso, 23, only joined Betis last summer from PSG after a loan spell but is now on his way to White Hart Lane. Maybe that will ensure Mauricio Pochettino is happy..

Hopefully there is some truth to this. Unfortunately we still need a RB.

Does anyone know if the UTD interest in Dybala is genuine or just fueled by the Pogba situation?

I'd like him and GLC please.

Tottenham Hotspur are now very keen to secure signing of Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon imminently. Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is now willing to pay a fee in the region of €70M to land the Portuguese midfielder this summer transfer window.

WTAF is going on? Levy playing games?
Who remembers the Moutinho fiasco some years ago? He can’t always get in the Wolves first team these days

From Google translate

Tottenham formalizes the signing of Giovani lo Celso, for which he will pay Betis the not insignificant figure of 55 million pounds sterling (about 60.25 million euros). The club that trains Rubi does a great deal (nefarious PSG) but loses an excellent player.
