Ha ha he just needs a bit of Poch attention and a season and he'll get better I hope. I also hope that Trippier starts next Wednesday night against Juve, because I think they may target Serge as a weakness. He gets caught upfield a bit too often sometimes.

I wont give up on him,OFC walker,rose,bale,davies,trippier were such instant successes at fullback.At least he doesnt duck a challenge or shirk going in hard,so he has heart.It cannot be easy moving,changing countries,langauge,league styles,getting back into the game after time not playing at PSG,fitting into a successful team which is already close,outsiders are welcome but could feel a bit clicky.
He can have another year to prove his worth for me,he hasnt been great,he has been reckless,he cant do throw ins,but as i said he has heart you cant install that,poch can coach the rest.

Exactly. It is way too previous to write him off after 5 minutes. We have seen what he is capable of and there is no reason to think he won't regain that level. We all knew he was a bit of a monster, but sometimes you need a beast on the pitch. He seems to be keeping his head down off the pitch and is not being daft like he was in the past, so let's give him the time he needs eh?

The Ivory Coast international was asked about the right-back competition by an interviewer from Bal des Productions (h/t Goal),and he said the club's decision not to let him leave was a sign they trust him:

"What competition? There isn't any.

"I had decided to leave, which was fine for me. Finally, a lot of things came into account and I could not leave.

"It also proves the club trusts me on many points. We will see how this season progresses. Now the transfer window is over and we must focus on the upcoming season."

Aurier opens up on decision to stay at Spurs, vows to take second chance

Serge Aurier says he is determined to make the most of his second chance at Tottenham after starring in Saturday's win over Crystal Palace.

Asked if he had wanted to leave, Aurier said: "Yes, but that was the situation before the transfer window closed. Now I'm feeling calm and happy to stay. I've spoken with everyone and I don't want to leave. I had something in my head, but I didn't want to leave for the gaffer or the chairman.
"It was a personal situation and now it's OK. Everyone wants to give me another chance. We need to give our best for this season and for the trophies. The new season has started for me and that is it.
"It was my first game in this stadium, my family were there. Nothing has changed in my life. I stay and now I want to prove myself, give my best for the supporters, for the club, for everyone."

Surprised he wasn’t sent off in consecutive matches. Personally, I think he knew exactly what he was doing with his 2 footed stamp. As a defender he’s utter garbage, positional awareness is comical, constantly caught upfield and his body language clearly suggests he’s not bothered about the cause. Absolute fucking clown!

The amount of neutrals that have said to me 'your right back should never play again' is ridiculous. Everyone stating his lack of effort tracking back after he inevitably loses the ball. And thats just from the Bayern game.
