There's nothing more needs too be said, like it or not the Dippers are the very bollocks of the dog, unbeaten at home for 2 and a half years, not being mulched is fucking brilliant.
Dont disagree, but that alone is 50% of the defence.... add in Toby wants out and Verts is old and fucked and were 250 mill down on a totally new defensive line. There were some shocking performances in there, which is why I didn’t want to say anything because we were leading. Rose, Aurier and Eriksen were appalling. Our first priority in terms of transfers should be a new rb and lb.
We took a bit of a battering today. Obviously it was the game plan to sit deep so they couldn't get behind, but we didn't match them in the wide areas so they doubled up on us over and over. When we did get the ball we couldn't get out with an under par Alli and Eriksen.
Still if it wasn't for that liability Aurier we would have come away from Anfield with a point. I have a real issue with this one. I said on here and said to the guys I was with he'll give away a penalty or get sent off. It was so obvious. For whatever reason Pochettino couldn't see the most inevitable outcome of Aurier vs Mane and Robertson. Massive mistake in my opinion.
Big shout out to Gazza! Played an absolute blinder, apart from the penalty. Why didn't he move!!! Was a terrible penalty. Salah showed him exactly where he was going to put that ball. Gazza only needed to shift 2 feet.
As always the Moura and Lo Celso subs were 15 minutes to late.
Still hardest game of the season is now behind us!
Add Winksy into that, he seems to give a shit.I am no Aurier fan but he was awfully unlucky with the penalty. He actually did quite a lot right today given Eriksen was a liability in trying to limit Robertson's influence.
Did Eriksen hit one pass to a teammate today? He just looks either shot or completely disinterested.
Sissoko is worthy of a lot of praise for the shift he is putting in week after week. He is our entire engine room at the moment.

I didn't see the game, but watched the highlights, and thought it was a penalty. It actually reminded me of the one we were awarded when Lamela was kicked at the end of the game at Anfield a couple years ago. Very unlucky but not harsh IMO.Hang on lads..... Harsh penalty.... you serious.....?
Just imagine if that'd been Kane getting kicked the shit out of him by Lovren......
That's a stone wall penalty, all day long.
Yeah Mane was clever as fuck but Aurier was his equalised in naivety...
The bloke is a train wreck and I can only assume he is way up on the list of upgrades Poch wants.
To think we used to have 4 fullbacks that almost any club on the land would have wanted....

I think his thinking was that if we created more and pushed them backwards it would relieve the pressure move the play from our half towards theirs.... I think he was trying the "attack is the best form of defence" tactic.I wish Poch had left Winks on and pulled Eriksen or Dele instead - I though Winks did a great job stemming anything coming from Fabinho. And to be fair, Dele did a good job in a deeper role in the first half together with Winks and Sissoko.

With Eriksen, I just think at that level there are very fine margins between being good and being shit. I mean very few of these players, however much money they're on, actually deliberately give half-assed performances. They're overachievers by nature, or they wouldn't be there, and theyre not going to intentionally fuck up in front of a billion people. But some players can get away with not being at their best, especially if they're gifted athletes, which Eriksen is not. When he's not on, he's either invisible or notably bad. What is going on with Eriksen, I get the whole disinterested argument and a potential drop of form that goes with that, but fundamentally he’s still a very good footballer, so that natural ability should still shine through, and still be able to affect games regardless of whether he cares or not but since the beginning of the season, he’s been so far off the standard he’s set over the last 5 years that its now got to the stage where I don’t want him in the team, or more importantly he doesn’t deserve a spot in the 1st XI. He was absolutely garbage against Liverpool, could barely string a pass together, he just seemed to sleepwalk his way thru the match, never thought i’d say this but he just looks shit atm.

I really think that this isn't the first time he's had a run of bad games, we just notice it now because of the summer drama. Ultimately he has no interest in playing like shit, bc he's playing his way out of a move to a big club, even on a free, if indeed that's what he wants. Whatever's going on, I'm starting to think the upshot for Toby and maybe for him is that they'll wind up back at Ajax.
Yeah, hard to know what’s wrong with him. It doesn’t really matter, as you say the important thing is that the likes of GLC get ready to fill his boots quickly.Agree but there are bad games and then there is the utter nonsense that Eriksen has been dishing up since Christmas.
He's cooked. Absolutely shot in my opinion and I don't really see how he can come back from it. There are very good reasons why big bids didn't come in for him during the summer. It's patently obvious that Eriksen is not the player he was two years ago. The sooner GLC is up and about, the better. Eriksen was our only true play-maker and right now he couldn't run a chook raffle, let alone a world class attacking 3.
