Subject: Daka?

It’s not and I keep seeing Dakas name everywhere but what concerns me is we a million per cent bid for Watkins so if he’s got that wrong (Ally) how good is his info

the other player is very similar to Daka in age and appearance we would be buying insane potential

Mourinho type players are biggish lumps, proven and play his system - hence Hojbjerg, Hart and Doherty. I doubt we're buying too much 'potential' in the near future, we've already got Gedson, Sessegnon, Foyth, Tanganga, Sanchez, Winks, Skipp, etc. Lamela was 'potential' about 5 years ago......

It has been obvious for 3 or more years we needed some players,of PL experience to compete with players to start and keep it on track. We also have had for several years players who obviously needed moving on,wanyama, rose,CCV and it takes us so long to achieve this.

Also it is now 1,114 days since we signed a striker to play with Kane, and that was well in to his 30s Llorente.Loaning Parrott out looks like a ridiculous situation with the next 3 weeks matches coming up.

I feel the problem with signing potential they are ok if they succeed, too many of ours have not. A club with ambition would sign a striker who competes for a place to put pressure on present players creating genuining competion for places. I know you are all saying, who are they and what is it going to cost, but that problem has been created by bad previous planning by senior management, so maybe we now need to look for the next Berbatov or Keane and invest in our judgement. This does not solve our present problem,m so what do we do, pay much needed money on potential or penny pinch on someone to sit on their arse.

Our overall strategy seems to have been led towards profit on resale to counter balance any gamble. No point making £16m on Wimmer if we just spunk £60m on Ndombele,or njie,,nkoudou, janssen, soldado, paulinho,There are no guarantees with transfers, even fergie, wenger, jose have bought some right old lemons, and moved on some who went on to be huge stars. But having Levy heading the transfer committee its always going to be about saving or making money down the road. When often we need a 28 year old who can do the biz here&now, but when he`s 31-32 when his contract is up Levy views it as a worthless transaction. But often its this player we have required to help along the potential.

Yes agree entirely, but this then begs the question who has been and who is now making those decisions espoecially with the new setup. I am sure every manager will put their hand up and say that was a bad buy but acted upon professional info/advice. Surely we have a strategy in place to make more risk free.
Happy days

Buy young and cheap, lessen the risk exposure and maximise sell on potential.
Thankfully at least Jose hasnt swallowed that BS,and has got 3 PL experienced players, even if one is a #3 goalkeeper.Nothing wrong with a foyth, gedson, clarke, sessegnon, but the mix of players ready to start has to be there too.

our two main targets now are the RM lb and the young striker I have alluded and hinted at several times

obviously rose looks like he has a new home now and we need forth to go Leeds and serge milan

its not just the fees , rose and serge were both on 70-80k a week, them moving is critical to our purchases

some good news, both tanguys camp and Jose have accepted that due to the market they basically need to get on with it this season , we only had 26 million from inter the chances of someone coming in with the 40-45 million in the next 3 weeks are slim to none , player now feels he should do his best to make a go of it at the lane.

Some more movement although very slow regarding Bale yesterday. Ongoing but still moving in the right direction. Nothing normal about this one so how it pans out I don't know. Got a good feeling regarding the #1choice CF, I've been confident from the start we'd get one, and I feel it still.

I am convinced for a few reasons that the striker plays in green and white and his club currently have some issues , were recently knocked out of champions lg, we need to get this done before Europa as he will be playing for current side in this, i think it will be a very tough deal to do.

I got word earlier in the summer that Edouard was being offered to clubs in Germany. The reply from the agent was that they already had something lined up - believed to be in England - however every noise coming from the player and out of the club had been that he was staying and so I dismissed the info. However, on reflection, Celtic have spent a lot of money this summer. I've always assumed it was because they were desperate to win 10 in a row - but perhaps it is because they are suddenly going to be a lot more cash rich than they have been (they do have money, but they will sell for the right price especially following their Champions League exit). Interestingly Edouard has been out of the team of late but he played for France Under-21s during the international week despite Lennon saying he had a thigh injury. Yesterday, I read some strange quotes from Lennon talking about Edouard's strike rate and how happy he is with him as a player. There is unrest in the dressing room so maybe he was buttering him up especially since one of his French allies, Ntcham, is looking out. The Champions League exit for Celtic almost always comes at a cost for the club, not to mention Edouard has been at Parkhead for three and a half years - this is usually the time for an ambitious player at Celtic to move. Anyway, I've made an enquiry.

EDIT: We (Spurs) have asked about him before.

As Jose alluded striker biggest priority

player I’ve hinted at is our main choice but there is ownership issues

back up are Jimenez and Milik and king , there are 4 clubs now in for king

if we can shift players once we have striker then we stil, want the lb

I have not heard the Zambian lad mention at all

Subject: we aren’t buying as we are strapped for cash

you can't be run by a bean counter like Levy and be "strapped for cash".

He loves to balance everything we do and run to budgets etc, but if you think he couldn't find a windfall of money for the right deal you'd be wrong. We'd have done similar last season with the lad from juve if things hadn't of gone pear shaped in the final stages.

Can I just say that every time Kane has been injured Son and others has stepped up and we’ve won games and scored goals, even difficult games Chelsea away for example.

As JJ has challenged the sceptics about the striker, I will do the same! Extremely confident about the striker. The specifics target is not from these shores, and I have not the slightest idea who it could be on the list of 5. But it is a very exciting list, to a very interesting one. Few weeks ago we never had certain options, and now we do.

Told you about TN, now JM has endorsed and confirmed it. Serge was very keen on going to Italy, but certain factors which I will not mention here, all but put an end to that, though things can change.

I said initially we were not in for a LB, and said seems that may have changed, though it was not an area we wanted to improve. The reason we were looking was in case we loaned out Sess. But! He is not being loaned out. And we have Cirkin, and have heard no talks about him or White being loaned out🙈

Kim we are highly keen on, but if we cannot do a deal, it is a possibility we revisit in January, unless we bring in an opportunity CH from elsewhere.

GB is gathering super pace, and looking good. Player himself has instructed his agents to make it happen. I would say there is two parties that can frustrate that, and it is RM throwing an unworkable condition in the deal, which they have a history of doing. Or someone from his side being bone-headed about the conditions of the deal. Please remain pessimistic at this point. DL is all over this, with all the nuisances our side covered within reason.

if we acquire all the above, will only be outs and not ins after this. Possibility couple of ins to cover the under 21’s. I said ‘Possibility’ not a cert!

Herucles rarely gets anything correct

They amount of circle jerking over 'ITK' is almost more entertaining than the 'ITK' itself

that said, I enjoy reading it as much as the next person

Carlos Vinicius is definitely An option And we have an interest , due to Mendez involvement there is a high chance he ends up at us or wolves
if it’s wolves then more chance it releases Jimenez to us
whilst we are talking to 4 or 5 strikers now and Trying to get one in at no point has deeney or the Zambian boy been mentioned

my personal feeling is it will be the 22 year old I’ve mentioned many times or Vinicius , or if Vinicius goes wolves then will get Jimenez , I’d say josh king is 4th in line now

Forgot about the Napoli boy we are in there too

By the way re bale I’d say under 10% chance , highly highly unlikely

Bale. Quite simple really(although not simple at all). Good news is that the deal is there to be done, and all 3 parties are happy for it to happen.

The problem is it's still an unprecedented amount of money for DL. As I've said recently Levy likes to balance the books in as many ways as he can, and with this it just isn't possible. This is a huge gamble financially in a time where money is at its most uncertain. On the plus side it's been Levy all the way driving this, and he must have known from the outset that is the case, and he's persued it anyway. That gives me hope he will pull the trigger.

It's now a case imo of heart or head, for DL. Can he justify the obscene expenditure in uncertain times, I mean he's not pushed the boat out when we've had spare cash, so will he do it now when we don't.

I think right now this could go either way and if we decide to do it, it will happen quickly.

I will say it's a deal just for us. Should we not do it, other clubs will not get the same terms(as things stand) so not as easy to get gazumped at this point in time.

JJ spot on all down to Levy, but knowing a lot of the financials I could totally understand if we don't get this over the line.
