Imagine you have also paid for a £1000 season ticket,to not be able to go and then add this on to your subs.I get your point all fans are being milked,in the uk PL matches are now split between 3 providers and this is now a 4th ppv service.I used to feel righteous and pay my yearly money to the club, but as its ,more of a billion pound business enterprise now,i think morally they dont need it now,its no longer a club.Same with murdoch and the huge broadcasters they dont need my money.Thank God I live in America, where I only have to $200/month for the NBCSN sports package plus and additional $4.99 a month for Peacock streaming. Yes!![]()

Me I have iptv, pretty much has every countries tv/sports channels, for less than the price of one match ticket a year.
If only the clubs were running this and taking all the income, but bt and sky as providers, even though rumour has it they arent taking any money, yeah right their benevolence is renowned.TBH, its roughly half what I would spend travelling to the lane without even buying a ticket. So for me, I am happy to pay the money.
Not from me... I've been priced out for years now... and I'm not skint, its still a quality product, but the ethics of it all detests me.If only the clubs were running this and taking all the income, but bt and sky as providers, even though rumour has it they arent taking any money, yeah right their benevolence is renowned.
What is going to happen (probably) is where the tv picks were the cream of fixtures, now expect burnley vs wba, brighton vs fulham to be the tv picks and spurs vs chelsea to be the PPV game, call me cynical but football at the top level has become squeezing as hard to increase revenue,So owners, agents, players, broadcasters, betting companies can eek evey last penny out of punters, sorry I mean fans.

No I agree,I am and have been an addict for 40 something years, but the product itself and the pricing is turning me off.And then the ethics surrounding sport and business also disturbs me.Not from me... Call me a hypocrite, call me selfish whatever... If I didn't have access to the game it would no longer bother me as it once would have.
'Only $200 a month?' I would weep my poor little eyes outfit I paid that for a year!Thank God I live in America, where I only have to $200/month for the NBCSN sports package plus and additional $4.99 a month for Peacock streaming. Yes!![]()
I did post a tifo football article from youtube about how over the top televising of games by clubs will happen.Because the revenues are so huge.If I can find I will post it here.Main thing to watch out for are ALL the matches becoming PPV once fans return to stadiums. It would be the biggest money maker ever.
I think PPV for the team you want to watch would be good for fans, if they charged sensible prices and showed all the games. When Levy wanted £20 to watch a pre-season friendly he would probably want £50 for a category A game on the telly. With the European, cup and league games you would probably have to stump up 2 grand a year.I did post a tifo football article from youtube about how over the top televising of games by clubs will happen.Because the revenues are so huge.If I can find I will post it here.
TBH buying a spurs PPV season ticket is a better option than paying sky and being charged to watch clubs you have no interest in,or other sports you have no interest in.What stops it for now is the clubs suckling the teats of sky/BT/amazon and taking the safe money (which is still huge). But what will happen is profits will be more obscene, agents fees will be more obscene, wages will get evermore ridiculous and it will still be on the back of fans.I dont begrudge Kane earing a million a month because of who he is for us and how he performs,Ndombele...not so much for his 200k a week. But the world is ending and the people being paid to find and fix it are earning a year what a footballer earns a week, and that is worth thinking about for me anyway.

They tried this 20 odd years ago,14 european elite clubs, well some of those 14 (ac milan,arsenal,inter..)are no longer elite.I dunno, something about absolute power corrupting absolutely and all.
Its all about ensuring the rich stay rich, hidden beneath some immediate benevolence which wont last, because thats not what rich things do.Not a fan of the new proposal. the rich are taking advantage of everyone else because everyone else needs the money.
long term only the top clubs will benefit from this
They want an 18 team league so if they want it that bad they can volunteer to fuck off to chumpionshit...They tried this 20 odd years ago,14 european elite clubs, well some of those 14 (ac milan,arsenal,inter..)are no longer elite.
Public sentiment is strongly against the monetising of the sport further, ownership,tv control people suggesting a coup need to be sure that they can pull it off,cos when a coup D`etat fails its not pretty for the perpetrators.
How about want an 18 club PL,man utd and liverpool fuck off,job done.
They need 14 of 20 to vote in favour,I would think 5 or 6 in more danger of relegation when reducing to a 18 team league, wont be tirkeys voting for xmas.Leicester were the only club not to approve the £14.95 PPV deal so probably they will vote against.I think without further sweetners ATM its unlikely to proceed.Isn't this a similar deal to that which they have in La Liga, where Barca and Real own all the money, rights and deals, because that's what suits them best? Thin end of the wedge or are we there already? there are only about 4 teams that can afford to buy the Premier league title atm. The football that we grew up with in the 80's is long gone and has been for some time.
