Michael Palin was on the wireless yesterday along with Chris Wilder the Sheffield United manager. Palin is a Sheffielder and lifelong United fan. He expressed the feeling that we all share of how the latest result can dramatically affect one's mood and emotions. But his most telling comment was that in spite of a disastrous season, they had enjoyed 3 good ones prior so thank god for 'the ride'. Some fans don't even get that, imagine supporting Crewe Alexandra for instance.

The Mourinho regime ain't great, but it won't be forever and at Spurs we've won more than 20 major honours, not many have a better record, so at least we have the 'ride'. COYS.

Have you been visiting the 'meaning of life Varny Shankerer' thread mate? You sound all spiritual and wise, but....what you are saying sounds like me thinking 'I had a lovely bottle of Syrah last week, all I have is rubbing alcohol at the moment but I might get a nice Rioja next week, so I'll drink the rubbing alcohol now and remember when I wasn't dead from alcohol poisoning'.

Yeah, but...in the very recent past we had a wonderful ride. Remember Kane demolishing Chelsea that New Year's Day? Remember Ryan Mason in and out of the side, chipping in with goals and tackles both? Remember Rose and Walker twisting the opposing midfielders in knots? Who were you hugging after the miracle in Amsterdam?

I'm waiting for this to be over as well, but is it worse than the dregs of the AVB days? Let's hope it's the darkest hour and all that.

And maybe a swig or two of hooch in the meantime might ease the pain.

Don't look at the back 4...........

Totally outplayed in the 2nd half so far. Ludicrously bad VAR decision (though maybe by the book?)

Only switched on at half time... wishing I fucking hadn't now.

What dull boring shite so far.

We've done nothing of any note.

You watched the wrong half 😂 first half we were pretty good. HK is missing regulation chances now (for him),looks very tired. Must, MUST find a way to get more minutes for Vinny.

Hojbjerg looks fucked...he needs a week off. Dele did well, delighted for him. Absolute shite game, but 3 points.
On a sidenote...think Scotty Parker is definitely one to watch. I know I've said it before on here before, but if Jose was ever sacked, he'd be on my shortlist.

If Vinny (or really any decent CF) was playing for Fulham, they probably would've won that game.

We should take a look at Anderson, their CB. Looked a good prospect.

I will tolerate points over performance for the remaining games, I want to be back in the champions league

I was reading somewhere we were linked with him a couple years ago, when he was in France. Definitely solid, and pretty composed on the ball too.

I didn't even know we were playing last night. How has it come to this? I can't remember a time when I forget about a game or gave no fucks. My level of apathy is at 9/10, sounds like I didn't miss anything. The BBC match report says 'Tottenham recorded consecutive Premier League victories for the first time since November as Jose Mourinho's side survived late Fulham pressure at Craven Cottage.' Survived. How can we just 'survive' against a team like Fulham? It's like that fucking Brexit where the promises of glory have changed to plucky little England surviving, we've gone from Champions league finalists to hanging on and 'surviving'. I think I might forget that we are playing on Sunday as well, it won't really matter though because I have gone past the anger stage, I enjoy it on the rare occasions we play well and hope we get totally mullahed when we don't because even that cunt Levy will get fed up with Moron-io eventually.

That, never happens for any sustained period. Its generally 10 or 15 mins here or there, maybe against an Eastern European pub side for an entire half but never for a run of anything more that 45 mins.

That for me is telling, because it shows that even for 10 mins we do have the ability and quality to play something that is remotely good enough to watch.

The rest of the time it's down to application and attitude. If our players are good enough to do it for 10 mins then it has to be that either they don't know what is expected of them, they ain't interested in what is expected of them, or that playing football isn't what is expected of them.

I don't like watching Spurs at the minute and have adopted Dirty Leeds as my donor club while we undergo some type of transgender surgery transitioning from Champions League finalists into mid table borefest never beens.

I must have been watching a different game to the rest of you. Fulham came at us for the first 10mins and then we took over and created chances, we looked very good in patches, the understanding is definitely coming, the goal wasn't against the run of play it could have been 3 or 4 and should have been 2, both Kane and Son look absolutely fucked, they've also decided to start playing for themselves again, how many outside the box shots did Harry play into a defender again yesterday, I think the club record is weighing on him.

Second half Fulham switched to a three in midfield and overran a tired 2 in Hoijberg and NDombele who resorted to dropping deeper to protect that back 4 so Jose brought on Moura for fresh legs and Sissoko to add some muscle into the centre. Davinson did well again apart from one panicky moment where he fell over (again) but it was offside anyway. In the end, 3 points and we move on, right now it's all that matters. This team isn't capable of peak Poch, the fact they are competing and working for Jose at all is a miracle so I'm thankful for that.

Palace on sunday so Christ knows how we will get on, we look KNACKERED, Kane needs a game off and Son and Hoijberg and NDombele! Doherty looks broken. On the upside we are trying to play some better football so that helps ease the panic when get the Yips!

We're in touch of top four with a game in hand - AMAZING considering the garbage that this season has been. Win on Sunday, get a favourable result in Europe and then on to stuffing the Gooners COYS!

It was a game of two halves. In the first half, we worked really hard, the first time the high press has worked properly and created some good chances. Then in the second half, we went full Mourinho AGAIN. for no real reason (at least for a tactical genius like Mourinho) we sat back and could have should have drawn or lost AGAIN. What is fucking point Jose you prick. We're back to where we were in early December and the same opposition on Sunday. He's pissed on the faint firework of optimism at half time last night. We'd had a couple of good games, Dele Bale are getting back to their best and then he does that. Love the 3 points, hate the way we got them in the end.

Lets get to the end of the season and see where we are. Not much more of this is worth watching, it just makes me angry.

Yeh but the thing is that's not true is it.

They said in commentary that Fulham had switched to add an extra man in midfield, this made all the difference, no wonder we started to struggle. Now we know I'm no Jose fan, think I was the first start squeeling when we took a nose dive but really what was he supposed to do? He brought on more muscle to help CM and more legs to chase and harry the oppo - Bale and Dele looked knackered having barely played previously (although that it directly Jose fault for being gutless). I'm quite optimistic, at last we are starting to shine in patches, just got to get through the next few matches without everyone dying from exhaustion. F*ck me even Davinson has upped his game! We just need a bit more warrior from him and we are set.

I can't believe you are making me defend Jose!

The international Football Association Board - the authority in charge of determining the laws of the game - have voted to update the handball rule.

IFAB confirmed that the rule now dictates that an accidental handball that leads to a team-mate scoring a goal or having a goal-scoring opportunity will no longer be considered an offence after their annual general meeting on Friday afternoon.

The decision comes just one day after the controversial decision to rule out Josh Maja's 'equaliser' for Fulham against Tottenham at Craven Cottage due to a perceived handball by Mario Lemina in the build up.

In an official statement on their website IFAB confirmed that handballs will now only be given under certain circumstances.

These include when a player "deliberately touches the ball with their hand/arm, for example moving the hand/arm towards the ball" or when a player "touches the ball with their hand/arm when it has made their body unnaturally bigger."

The statement went on to add: "A player is considered to have made their body unnaturally bigger when the position of their hand/arm is not a consequence of, or justifiable by, the player’s body movement for that specific situation."
