It’s the whole package mate, 2 up playing decently, Sonny and Romero back, got some crap out, couple of fresh faces on the bench. Also loved Conte’s words about how we need to stop making mistakes in the transfer window. The place feels a bit fresher.

Great to see Romero back can tell he gives us that more presence, leadership on the field. Everybody playing well.

Yep, perfectly put.

There’s a level of intesity about the team today that certainly wasn’t there against Chelsea and it’s good to see.

Urgh .. they were always going to come at us, but it was still a fluke. Royal’s was a sublime piece of skill of course

Great game this...

Watched the first 45 from my bike and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Workrate was superb and we imposed ourselves on them and they couldn't cope with it.

Romero is a fucking beast. He settles everything down... it just looks calmer and he immediately makes the players round him look like actual footballers (looking at you Davidson).

Son's pace... Well he just retired Brightons CB...

Kane on a Hat Trick...

Now we've got the new signings on for the last 20 mins...

Is Bentancur our new Lamella... with 2 feet...?

AKA our shit housery expert? I hope so.

Impressed with the Juve lads. Kulu obviously lacks pace but makes up with his ability in tight spaces and you can see he is a very smart player.

That Bissouma was causing us a lot of problems we need to be more secure in centre midfield.

So calm, so smart. Never has to scramble because he anticipates everything like a fucking Jedi.

Like Yid says, he makes everyobe else better. The other CBs, the DMs, even Hugo know they can try something ambitious because Chiqi will make everything okay.

Winks comtinues to imrove/impress.

On reflection I was pleased as piss with the graft, craft and endeavour pretty much throughout the game...

Stevie B when he came on failed to take his chances... he has got to be more consistent, he just wasn't at the teams level for that 20 minute cameo.

Against Leicester, he was riled up, on fire and had a few altercations on the field that seemed to light him up and drive him forwards... he had none of that fire in him yesterday.

He needs that in his game I think, he needs to bring it every week and if he does he may well be the player we see glimpses of more often

Don't want to get ahead of myself but Bentancur might be the greatest midfielder to ever play the game

I think one of the biggest beneficiaries of Conte's tenure so far has been Sanchez. He's been more solid and consistent than he's been for as far back as I can remember.

And Romero clearly has the potential to just get better and better. Quite apt that he's taken over Toby's old shirt as he could certainly be as good, if not better, than him.

Hard to imagine we could actually get something out of this season after the awful start under Nuno.

I didn't really follow the the last 10 mins of the match so didn't see much of him. Was he really that good or are you just being 'over the top'?

I do agree with @Yid that he could be our new Lamela.

Really enjoyed that one. It's simplistic to say, but we looked like we wanted to win it. Impressed with the new boys, and like others I like that Bentancur has a bit of the needle about him, as does Romero, who is like the proverbial new signing. Bottom line is that in Conte's teams, if the wing backs pose a threat, we're much better for it. Ours did today, against pretty good opponents. Time to kick on, we've got some tricky but winnable fixtures coming up this month, and with no European games midweek, we can give the Cup the effort it deserves.

I suppose you have to ask yourself about the mindset of the players we've actually moved out over the past week or so.

Is it a coincidence that we didn't have this level of intensity and drive against Chelsea, we move on certain players and it suddenly seems to wake the team up again.

At the very least, bringing in new players (and again, the way it's worked out, you almost have to class Romero as a new player) means there's competition for most positions.

Well that was all very enjoyable wasn't it. Feels like a bit of a step change has happened during this January window with the gang of 4 gone or loaned, Hitchen resigned and if the social media twaddle is anything to go by, Don Tony has had a word with Levy and also believes he now has a committed squad, fighting for the shirt and working hard.

All good news and it certainly looked that way on the pitch. Let's hope it continues on Wednesday night.

ps Kane is only 30 goals off Greaves record, astonishing.

Really happy with Kane’s performance he really did play well and hopefully he can carry on this form till the end of the season.

Think he has a good record against Southampton so should expect a couple of goals from him!

You may be right! I knew someone has got really good record against them.

COYS

What did you think about the midfield situation we were overran at times especially by Bissouma. Tactical or personnel? Needs to be more compact in that area when we are defending.

I was whingeing like fuck to Mrs D about what a waste of space Royal is, and that he should 'pass the fucker' - then it it popped. What a great goal? Nah, flukey fucker was popping in a cross that would have gone to nobody. Very enjoyable game.
