It's a tough one. We don't really have a midfielder anymore that could drop in there. Sessegnon must be back soon though?!

Sessegnon is a left back/left winger and Royal is (allegedly) a right back.

If you look at the squad list, we've literally only got two right backs - Royal and Doherty. Tanganga can play at RB in a pinch, but it's almost certainly going to be Royal until the end of the season.

Also good that it was an MCL not ACL as I think it is a less bad injury? I dunno, i'm not a physio but I think I've heard that before.

Yes, all else being equal, the recovery time is generally much shorter.

I didn't know that. The absolute farce of releasing him on a free to join Atletico who then also release him.

I always liked him personally. I think he was showing some decent form when he had a run in the side until his injury.

I wouldn't be surprised to see him end up at Newcastle.
