I don't know if you've heard of Digital Spy but they've got a forum there with a Spurs thread and some of the most negative, hateful "fans" you've ever seen.

I had a quick look this morning and, as expected, some are saying he'll be sacked by October.

I think most of us just have to drown out the noise and complaints and give him a fair chance to make it work because when it clicks, it could be something special.

This man has a tough job ahead of him. But i reckon hes up to it. Every single one if us should get right behind him, end of. What's there to be negative about ?? It's a great appointment. A top class man manager, a winner regardless of where he's been. Doesn't take any shit and for me the thing I'm looking forward to the most...THFC playing attacking, attractive football. CAN'T FUCKING WAIT!

Fuck the moaners--same people who wanted "Poochy" out after six weeks. Like others, I'll back anybody who A) has a plan; and B) has the team playing on the front foot.

Get in big Ange, we are a right mess, and you'll be earning every penny of whatever that bald tightarse is paying you...

Let me caveat this by saying yes I am currently negative, but I dont think its without good reason.

I am as equally happy that this is yet another opportunity to reset our footballing activities, and start to entertain the fans.

But, I think some of you guys need to slow down with the cool aid... For the moment.

Levy is still at the organaisation and still the chairman, regardless of his stepping back from the board or football operations etc... Don't suck that teat...! He has not relinquished any of the record breaking Chairman wages in lieu of his reduced responsibilities... He is still 100% in charge.

He has used Jol, Poch, Folded Arms guy, That Cunt, Conté and any number of sporting directors, DOF's, coaches, whatever, as scape goats for his mismanagement of the clubs footballing activities...

Do not think that this guy or Munn will be treated any deferent...

I will back him as I had done with all of the above, even That Cunt... until I couldn't.

As long as I see the players working harder than the opposition. As long as I see us playing football that is attacking and exciting. As long as I see the results start to improve and the players seemingly give as much of a shit about them as we do. He will get my full support.

But remember he will be doing this with one arm tied behind his back. He is cannon fodder for Levy no matter what colour tinted specs you have on, so while I am optimistic, I am also pragmatic in that this organisations problems are much bigger than the man stood on the sidelines every weekend.

I wish him and us the best.

I wish Levy to fuck off.

As with each of our post-Poch appointments, I was dead-set against the man before the announcement, and am now blushing, gasping, and trying to hide my semi under my desk.

As mentioned above, the corporate structure hasn't really changed (we need a revolution to abolish private property),but when the PR hacks' copy contains the phrases "attacking football" and "connection to the academy", I can't think or hear anything else.

Aside from all that, he sounds like the man to put all the rockets up all the asses that need them. Painful rebuild, here we come!

I wondered when you’d weigh in and claim him.😂

We shall refer to Ange as Greek Aussie…but slightly more Aussie.

If things go tits up then Ange is 100% Greek.
OK. OK.
He was raised & shaped through the wonderful Aussie lifestyle but the DNA is in there!;):D

Ange Postecoglou on keeping players happy:

"Everyone keeps saying I have to keep everyone happy. Am I supposed to go around making them cups of tea or buy their wife some flowers? They should be happy with a smile on their face every day because they’re doing what they love & representing a fantastic football club."

I'm pumped for the new season.

He grew up in the same part of Melbourne that I now live. It was working class back in Ange’s day but is a superb part of the city these days. Cafés, restaurants and bars everywhere.

The buzz in Australia, especially here in Melbourne over his appointment is huge.

That's fantastic about the buzz.
A real testament to not only Ange & his work ethic but also the whole country being so supportive of one of their own.

I hear that, as a city, Melbourne has the largest Greek population after Athens & Chicago.

Athens, Thessaloniki and then Melbourne. There are 400,000 Greeks in Melbourne mate, about 3 times as many as are in Chicago. It's the biggest Greek population in the world outside of Greece. The Greeks and Italians have made Melbourne the brilliant city it is today.

Thanks Crypty. That's very interesting.
Just looked it up.

1. Melbourne
2. New York
3. London
4. Chicago

Nevertheless, Ange is Spurs.

Well just about anybody would target a No 10 for this squad, and he’s probably the best PL proven one reasonably available.

It's all very exciting but then the Dark Lord says "Hold my latte.."

"The notion that Tottenham haven't backed certain managers is incorrect. We're currently paying the price, perhaps, where some of the acquisitions have not turned out to be as we hoped."

I disagree, the players we've needed and that were available and the players we've got, we're very very different things.

We've always gone cheap when it'd have taken a few pence more to get the player we require instead of the grey import.

Tbh, 90% of this relates back to the Poch era as we've failed to be in a position to compete since then...

It's irrelevant however, as we're back to the build a promising squad stage, where Poch was the final piece...

We need to ensure our scouting network is absolutely on point if we're back there though as if not, we'll be the old Newcastle... with a diamond or two set amongst steaming piles of garbage...

Hey, maybe that's the arch cunts end game... become as shit as Newcastle so some filthy rich motherfucker can pay way over the odds for the organisation... we're 90% of the way there now...!!! We've swapped league positions and they're representing in the CL while we are a million miles off.

Typically Ange plays football like the early days of Poch off the ball. Get the ball early by surrounding opposition. He's more direct than Poch on the ball but does like short fast passing and his team's kinda flow up the pitch.

He usually plays 433 with 2 narrow full backs and 2 wide forwards up top.

The players he'll want are energetic. If I was raiding Leicester reckon I'd go after Harvey Barnes.

Informative stuff Glen, so where does Porro fit in?
I assume Royal and Davies of current personnel would be the narrow full backs
And it seems you think that Maddison isn't an Ange player, so why are we interested

Maddison makes sense to be honest. Play him at the top of the 3 give us some creativity. I'd just grab Harvey Barnes as well lol.

Porro will work well in my opinion. He needs to get better defensively but he is good at coming in and attacking the box.

So where would nominally play, in midfield or up top?
